  • no 300$

  • yay it works thanx man for saving me 100$ or 300

  • better way is to stop the fan from moving with two q-tips.

  • thank youyuu sooooooooooooooo much

  • this is how to fix a xbox 360

1st step:go to a person who fixes xbox 360s for a living and get them to fix it

  • Does this help with 2 red rings?

  • mine has all 4 sections red, what does that meen?

  • @GoochAHandrail it means its done you actually need to get a new unit theres no fixing it

  • worked for me mate. nice one

  • did it have 3 rings

  • or will it never get rwed light

  • if this every happen to me if i do this and then buy a cooling fan will it still have red light

  • it worked for me thank you so much!!

  • yo does this really work?

  • @555bigbadwolf Yeah, it really works, assuming you don't have another more pressing issue with the box. I'll be the first one to say that it's definitely not a permanent fix, but will get you a few months. If the problem occurs again you can repeat the process. Eventually, after months, it will die and you'll have to replace it. But if you're trying to get through till pay day or make it a few months it will do just fine. I'm not a sadistic weirdo who enjoys getting people to nuke their Xbox.

  • @555bigbadwolf Just make sure that you wrap it a jacket so it gets hot but still can get air. If it doesn't get air it's like putting your hand on the back of a hair dryer, it will just turn off in a minute or two. Ideally the whole process should take 10-15 minutes. Use towels or a big jacket.

  • @555bigbadwolf yeah it happend to me i did this and bam it work

  • @555bigbadwolf The "towel trick" works and like Jessicaandblake said you will get a few months out of it. What it does is it causes the xbox to overheat, which heats up the solder in chips. Whenever metal becomes hot it expands and sometimes mends itself back to components. But eventually this will stop working. Save urself the bullcrap and watch a vid on how to take ur xbox apart and repair it the right way. It's easier than you think. You'll need thermol compound u can buy at radio shack.

  • @smartass2st you will ownly get a few days

  • dude thank you so much...cant believe it worked

  • open the 360, clean out the dust,and get a intercooler .

  • The video is 1 min while you said it 12, FUCK OFF IM NOT WATCHING THIS

  • I love it when people leave complaints on years old videos that have been raised 10 times already as if they're the first person to raise that specific point. Clearly that fix is intended to be a quick "damn, I need to finish this clan match and go to GameStop tomorrow" solution-- and clearly it's meant for people who have surpassed the warranty timelines or voided it altogether by modifying or opening their console.

At least read through one page of comments before you leave a tired, played o

  • Because people like @jerpritch1 need to be walked through life, I would like to point out that this IS A TEMPORARY FIX. Do not waste your time paying someone to fix your Xbox, in time that will break too. Nothing is permanent. We're talking about a product that you can walk into any Best Buy and get for less than $200 USD. Buy the warranty, take it back at the first sign of trouble. Done it 4 times now myself. Thus endith the sermon.

  • @jessicaandblake wanna know how to fix your xbox 360, get your car keys, get 500$ from the bank or you can use your banking card too, go to walmart, gamestop or any store that sell's xbox 360 slim's with a 250GB hard drive, BUY IT, problem solved, oh and sell your old one, you wont be needing that anymore.

  • WRONG !!!!

Overheating it allows higher voltage through the capacitors which blows the transistors which = 2 week fix at best.

    You are an idiot.

  • @jerpritch1 I may not be doing it in a way you approve of, but I'm certainly not wrong. If you took the time to read anyone's comments but your own you'd see I noted that it worked for about 2 months before I had to replace the unit-- but I suppose that would require additional effort and reading on your part. It's simply a bandage for those addicted gamers who need to get an extra bit of uptime until pay day or they can replace the unit. But thanks for digital circuitry 101.

  • @jerpritch1 you know a lot your cool

  • easier /watch?v=ZWFcfa30cKc

  • thanx bro this really works

  • What if this is a hoax, what if this is another Xbox 360 that he plugged in???

  • this isnt a very good solution, it will just "reset" the xbox instead of fixing the actual problem. The RROD is just a method of the xbox telling you something is wrong and it is there to protect itself from futher damage (by resetting you will have another chance at the xbox damaging itself). You should first look after the error code, then fix the problem and THEN reset the xbox.

  • HOW LONG WILL IT WORK 4

  • Comment removed

  • this is fucking bullshit this frys ur motherboard and and damages the heat sinks lol u really no nothin this will work but only for a short time if u do this often these does resut in the heats sinks pip bursting and frying ur mother board and setting the xbox alight

  • @XxReLeNTLeSSxX2011 Actually he is quite right. What he is doing is overheating the processor which is melting the solder making the pins on the CPU resolder to the motherboard. Then you must clean the cpu's with solvent and get them to a mirror finish and clean the heat sink matting surface as well.s Then you need to apply thermal grease to the CPU and what it does it fills in any air gaps between the CPU and the heat sink which in turn the makes the heat transfer more efficient.

  • Its very fast to fix it I had a red ring of death on my xbox360 I had to turn it off and and turned it back on and works :D

  • this works but in the long run it is only making things worse

  • @ToxicGamingNetwork thats what she said

  • do you leave the harddrive in or not?

  • @litoaznkidbrian Makes no difference at all. I'd detach it

    just for safety's sake.

  • @jessicaandblake also BTW you dont pay to get it fixed because you just send it to microsoft

  • it's not permanent though it's gonna comeback

try the penny trick it works

  • Yep. Has been since I posted the video. I had to do it once before and it lasted about 2 months.

  • is it still working well?
