  • @170166 Thanks! I hope everyone at the gig had a great time!

  • Hearing you is one of the reasons I asked for a flute this Christmas. ^_^ After hearing this, well, you simply kick ass. You inspired me to want flute to be the next instrument I learn. Now I know how hard it is. :P

  • @xroguepassionx Good luck with learning the flute! Have fun!:)

  • mmm who's the flute player?

  • @TheViestaFox I'm the flute player, name's Rob Christian

  • @KingFlogologas Hi, I've been playing for 10 years now. I'm mostly a sax and keys player these days.

  • @yoitsmarilyn Thanks Marilyn!

  • good drummer. gotta friend whose son is 13 n plays better with a broken arm.

  • @cholovilchez

Yes Anthony Toth is a great drummer, he's at Berklee now. I broke my wrist when I was 16, had to get really good on the sax fast, cause I couldn't play flute for a while. There's a video of me playing with my cast somewhere on youtube.

  • @robnchris thats pretty sweet! i played sax for 6 years n need to jump back

  • AS GOOD AS RON BURGENDY

  • @ryantunna

    Thanks, I love Yazz Flute!

  • You rock guys !

  • @FrenchieCurly I'm always so lucky to be able to play with such awesome musicians!

  • lol the speed doesn't make the drummer good, but the good performance...

  • I wish i could hear that upright bass, looks like hes rippin' it pretty hard

  • Nice job Ron :D

  • Nice

  • kid can play

  • rob's KILLING IT!!! way to go man. You're the freshest guy I've heard on flute in a while.

  • i love the drum beat ohh and not bad on the flute either

  • WOW!!!He is very cool

  • this drummer is awesome, he doesnt just hit the cymbals for the sake of it, like some rock, hes actually got a groove

  • bravo

  • Uazzz!! Fatastic!!

  • Sweet.

    ♥

  • phat beatt!

  • ARCT Flautist here. Wish I could play jazz. Sad face. : (

  • I like it but....I gotta have more cowbell!

  • Those are the songs I want to play.

  • sorry, I love jazz, but mostly instrumental jazz. I would need to know how EXACTLY this subtype is called jazz.

    Thank you very much!

  • @NicolasMrBellamy it's not classical.

  • Mr rob on the yazz flute!

  • this is so feel good and laid back man, just saw a Heineken advert that ended with a flute improv, searched jazz flute and this popped up, love this sound!

  • whats the name of the song????

  • @chiron16 This is clearly improvisation I think.

That's how good he is XD.

  • you guys are awesome. keep it up :D

  • what is dis song?

  • I would have fainted.

  • I. LOVE. YOU.

    this is awesome :)

  • That was pretty amazing. Ive just picked up a flute for the first time. And its insanely difficult. Getting the lower notes to sound right as beyond me for now.

  • There's a saxophone strap around his neck

  • @BDMaff yeah surprisingly most jaz flutes are really saxophones. like sax is their first intrument then they learn flute just to pick it up. apperently its not much different than sax

  • @piedenification it isn't apart from Bb, C, and you keep the Eb key down on the flute

  • i just started flute 3 days ago, ive never been so excited to learn an instrument in my life!!

  • @righteousstrawberrys I have been playing flute more 3 years, and you can look forward to the experience

  • @righteousstrawberrys it seems tedious and tasking at first but the more you practice the easer it becomes to practice because you start to enjoy practicing and you start to enjoy the warm tones you create. People dont lie when they say practicing every day is the key to learning an instrument. I've been playing flute for six years and i can tell you if you practice every day you really advance alot faster then if you dont. If it seems boring and like a chore at first, keep at it

  • I like that response!

For this, it's the person playing and how he's playing....

  • What type of flute is that? Does anyone know? Is it open holed? What make and model?

  • @Lizbethbike don't worry about it.

  • Love the neck strap. Thumbs up for being a saxist who doubles on flute.

  • serious flute shredding! love it!

  • your so gooood! :))) i heart u!!!!

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • stop putting stupid comments you tool

  • Where do you find jazzy flute sheet music like this? Or is it all improv? I really wanna play jazzy flute, but cant find any sheet music ANYWHERE.

  • @TVXQforeverfaith

Scales, arpeggios, listening to the greats, and the discipline to put in hours a day, like at least 5 hours a day. Then playing with people way better with you who are also willing to help you.

  • Anchorman "Im so unprepared for this.. jerry lets take the bass line for a walk"

    ha ha

    Great playing man!

  • what flute u usin?

  • SO. FUCKING. HIP.

  • wooow is that a song or is he improvising?

  • Inspiration!!!! :')

  • sick. so talented oh and nice shirt :)

  • OMG U ARE A GOD

  • Fantastic!

I play jazz flute and this is unbelieveable!

    nice one Rob!

  • 11 years of classical training on the flute, and there is no way I could pull a solo like that out of the bag...

    kudos, great performance.

  • like a min and 30 in there u had some really really really sick lines your good man....

  • I play flute, and im very into jazz. U are my idol man. Very good.

  • wow, i like that there's still a sax strap around your neck while you play this, kinda telling of your skills :D

  • I know you are a jack of all trades musicaly, but I absolutely love you on the flute man. You are great !!!

  • I love it......Very nice !

  • What location in Toronto is this?

  • @callyjohnwell The biggest and most famous jazz club in toronto is called The Rex.... im willing to bet that that's where he's playing, ive been there before and it looks really similar to The Rex

  • bravo hermano very nice

  • You make it look easy (:

  • jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee goooood

  • my jazz band drummer is 12.he can play much faster than this...just sayin!-he's still awesome

  • Because playing rapidly is the mark of a good jazz drummer?

  • @redchucktaylors5 I'm not really up on contemporary lingo but I believe you've misread "fattest" as fastest, unless it was a joke and in that case I apologise.

  • @dilettante121: That would be humorous -- this is a fat beat. In this case, however, I was replying to a comment below that reads:

"my jazz band drummer is 12.he can play much faster than this...just sayin!-he's still awesome"

  • @redchucktaylors5 well not really but some professional drummers are know for there speed like tony royster jr. for instance

  • @BassClarinetPEace Of course, and I once again stress the original post to which I was replying. My point is simply that the speed with which one drums is the not the defining characteristic of their ability. Tony Royster, Jr., whom you mention, for example, is fast because he is good, not good because he is fast.

  • @redchucktaylors5 No, no. :)

Listen to the vibes he gives off.

    That's good jazz, baybeh.

  • @redchucktaylors5 LOL he said fattest not fastest

  • @BenShotts Yes, I understand that. Yet again, I will clarify. I was responding to a comment below that reads:

"my jazz band drummer is 12.he can play much faster than this...just sayin!-he's still awesome"

not the video itself. (Don't worry, I *can* read.)

  • @redchucktaylors5 my bad anyways this is pretty sweet to see young guys into real music.

  • @redchucktaylors5 He said fattest dumbass, not fastest.

  • @redchucktaylors5 He said fattest not fastest.

  • @MrWestification I wasn't responding to the video, but another comment. I *can* read! :)

  • @MrWestification Gosh! Then that would be "Phat" not "fat."

  • @redchucktaylors5

    fattest beat not fastest beat

  • @redchucktaylors5 FATTEST beat

  • @coolloser4579 The drummer in the vid can probably drum a lot faster than this too. What's your point?

  • I grew up playin Jazz trumpet so I can definatley appreciate the craft. You got real talent Rob! Band does a great job of backing you up too. Big Props! Got 2 give it Up!

    tone zerell

  • You should have gone Anchorman on it and started jamming on tables! haha

  • XD HAHA! I remember that!! Hahaha

  • @RrriotScene I'm really not prepared...

  • u r awesome.

keep playing, u can only improve and become one of the legends.

  • You are good!!! I'm a jazz flute player too, i live in México. Hope we can play together one day. You really have swing :D

  • i can tell (although ive watched all your videos) you play sax because of how you hold your right hand so saxophonie :P

    random thought i had

  • or the fact that he has a strap for a sax around his neck

  • haha, never noticed

  • OR the fact that there's like 10 vids of him playing sax on the right...

  • Dude, I'm digging the doo. 3 Snaps, my man!

    5/5 Terrific

  • hot!! and cool and laid back at the same time. i gotta agree with frc27... i like your flute sound better than the sax.

  • Yeah! And trombones... Clearly I think people would rather hear a flute solo than a trombone... In our band, its frustrated cuz our director tell the trombones to be the more important instrument... I disagree, I think The woodwinds are the melody of the band, the trombones are just... the bass, and no offense to them, but they sound like farts!!

  • I so wish I could play like that. Is that completely improvised?

  • This is good as always. Does this song have a name?

  • You're insane!!! Keep up the good work

  • that's very nice!

  • Hi Rob, I noticed that it looks like your playing with the head joint further back (or the key joint further forward) than usual... or maybe it's the lighting and I'm just bonkers.

  • i'm luvin the look! and i luv the way u play the flute. i like the style and how u interpret the music ^_^

personal opinion...i like u better on flute..and thats mayb becuz i play flute...

  • nice job!
