  • Sweet video, Eric

  • love railgrinders..anyone kno what kind of horn they hav

  • They have a work horn similar to a semi. And a full blown whistle for track travel

  • What are rail grinders?

  • Why do people thumbs down it just because sum1 asks a question? But from what I understand it "grinds the rails" so that it smooths it out to try to avoid derailments to an extend and also to remove ny excess gunk and grease as well, which would be burned away. But im nothing near an expert so don't quote me on it.

  • Sweet thanks!

  • nice catch!!

  • thats cool!

  • Nice video!

  • Would you believe they've got these on MSTS? Man, they think of everything.

  • Are you serious? I'll have to download that, train-sim right?

  • yea its coooooooooooool

  • We saw one of these at Cassandra on the Pittsburgh Line. It's a pretty sweet piece of equipment.

  • it'd be funny if they didn't spray water on the crossing the car's tires would have been messed up for sure

  • Actually...someone walked across the tracks at another crossing not sprayed as well as this one and there shoes...well haha...probably had to buy a new pair!

  • yep it helps to extend the life of it before it needs replacing

  • Hmm didn't my reply post? Anyway, railgrinding restores life of rails by smoothening the ends which railcar wheels pass over. It is a lot cheaper than replacing the rails.

  • what does railgrinding do?
