  • can you cut any design from crikrt or just what crikket has

  • @lugo175 that machine is limited to their designs at this time, Other cutters will let you import from programs like Inkscape

  • GENIUS!!!

  • where did get the logo from??

  • @canary9223 we made it and cut vinyl on a plotter

  • The point of the platen isn't to need to use a separate one for each shirt you screen. it's just to hold the shirt on and provide the base. Watch any other more established screen printer and you will see that. I've only been screening for a few months but I even know that

  • @craigsano on the Yudu it is a pain it is really take a long time taking the shirt off and put on a new shirt to screen. i now have a real silk screener and do not have to replace the platen each time. i made this video 2 years ago when i first started screen printing on the yudu. i liked it so much i bought a real one and it is a lot faster now.

  • And a lot faster too.

  • OMG YOU USED VINYL!!!! WHAT A GREAT CHEAP IDEA!! I have a cutter with LOTS of vinyl.. Its cheaper to use vinyl that to use all those products just to make 1 screen..

  • Thanks very much

  • genius

  • I LOVE my Yudu! I use photo emulsion (SO MUCH CHEAPER) by the quart and it lasts forever for just $25.

  • momma you cut vinyl like a champ.

  • yudu suuuuucks!!!

  • Yudo is a highly expensive piece of equipment that is very cheap and not well made. Its better to invest on better equipment if its going to be used for jobs that will eventually bring in more money. A really good and inexpensive piece of machinery is the Four Color Screen Printing Silver Press™, check it out on google.

  • How were you able to create the image to have the cricuit print it out on vinyl? What type of cricuit are you using and does it require software? Im curious because I didn't think you can print just anything from a cricuit. Thanks.

  • Thank you so much for the secrets you shared, I'm trying to find was to save time and money and I know this will help.

  • thanks sandy!! you thinkin outside the box has saved me so much time and money!! YOU'RE AWESOME!

  • Have you tried using the Yudu Cardshop? It's a smaller version of the Yudu ONLY for card making. It does NOT make screens, etc., without having a different method. I'm going to try your vinyl idea! Thanks for the information.

  • any half way decent screen printer will have ZEEEERO ink on their fingers. YUDU makes that nearly impossible with that junk 'squeegee'. If you can spend $20 on corex(I get 4 by 8's for $10),,,go to a screen print supplier and buy a REAL squeegee.

I cannot believe that there is enough ignorance to support the YUDU. I hope you know better by NOW??????

  • The best way to modify a yudu is to throw it away. Yudu is to screen printing...what potato chips are to a diet! You are going the long and hard way ! I'm pretty sure that Yudu is part of a govenment test to see just how gullible people are. The results should be out soon, and they will no doubt be higly embarassing .

  • @YouTees I was going to say throw it out too! You are better off doing it like the guys in China on giant wood boards and better registration or buying two hinges that hold the screen and a piece of wood. DAMN YOU YUDU!

  • I use vinyl too. I have a cutter and the possibilities are endless. Never have to mess with chemicals. Nice to see someone else using their head to save time and money!

  • where did you get the vinyl?

  • totally love the way she says 'there, my sixth shirt' at 1.30ish. all the best from the uk you have a gorgeous accent :D

  • Clever use of the cricut materials.

  • Hi Sandy can I use the cricut personal electronic cutter? If so how?

  • where did you get the vinyl? and where did u get it cut?

  • Wow! Really clever use of vinyl!!

  • I bought the corrugated plastic at a sign supply for about $20 for a 4 x 8 foot sheet. but you can buy smaller sizes. I used speedball ink which I air dried then used my iron on the highest setting to set with out steam. I now use a DK swing away heat press.

  • Well 2 questions how thick is the corrugated plastic you use and how good does the water base paint work on t shirts?

  • Wow you rock :o)

  • It's just vinyl! lol

  • Damn! people get in arguments over machines! wow, crazy world we live in. hahahahahah

  • Did you use transfer tape when you did this? Do you have a video on how you did the vinyl ?

  • awesome! Thank you for sharing!!!

  • Cricut or as it is lovingly pronounced cricket is a personal cutter from Provo Craft. Which is used to cut paper or in this case vinyl, that is used to place on the screen of our Yudu. A Yudu is a personal silk screener from Provo Craft too. There are other was of doing this without these products we just expanded on the basics a little.

  • @craftysansan how do u get the image on there

  • What's a "cricket"?

  • nice video :)

  • Back to the subject of the vid...what is "basting"? Not like cooking spray?

  • Thanks for the tips! I love the idea of using vinal instead of emulsion!

  • OWNED!

  • @youteesdotnet its funny how you are sitting at home mad at your computer on youtube, i dont care about you man.. you do realize that this is a internet program and no body cares dude! NOBODY!! lol you SUCK ridiculously

  • Now...I have two presses/gear kits going out tonight...but it was fun wiping my shoes off on you 'ace'(of WHAT?). Ignorant people make great toys...but I have real screen printers to get back to now.

  • you can keep your "gravy points"...I am betting you need them for yourself. I'm working with real/earned/solid knowledge over here. Not everybody does. You dont' "give a shit" but you don't mind uising it to SP with. I think I would call that KARMA for your own attitude. Perfect...AND funny as well. Oh...you can use the bag that came with your Yudu(that was not printed on a Yudu NOR with Yudu crap ink)to wipe the ink off your finger! Or get mom to buy you some paper towels. 'Yu' will need 'em.

  • with all respect: even a crafter can and should want tools that will honor greater ease. it is as important to have clean fingers and right supplies and technique on a small job as it is on a large. Yudu makes out great getting people to believe they have made it easier for crafters when the opposite is true. You could have done those Bears tees in half the room, half the time, and half the cost. You are working too hard and you don't even know it. THAT is what amazes me re Yudu'ers.

  • wow u can pick out the screen print shop owners on here there is a insane anger toward yudu! I have yudu and i have a succesful business selling shirts! I make very good money with 4 yudus very good.

  • @acebpd it is not "insane" anger. the insanity is that you Yudu'ers don't know and don't seem to WANT to know that your YUDU is a three legged dog posing as a racehorse. Yudu is like figuring out where you want to go...and then walking backwards to get there. Truth hurts...but learning from the truth is the best band aid for that pain! NOBODY(but me)even notices how she cannot even keep her fingers clean while printing. Just ONE right tool would fix that. BUT Yudud is not about right tools.

  • @youteesdotnet thank you for making my point angry man.. lol i glad you are on youtube venting your anger toward ppl that dont care! YUDU I LOVE YOU LOL!!! i will say u get gravy point for be passionate about your craft though, but i still dont give a SHIT!!

  • @acebpd and that is just fine by me dude. I love it when people stand up and let me know straight out how misguided they are and WANT to be...saves me from making equipment that actually works for them...who are too misguided to ever get any good use from it. the world is full of people who don't give a shit about good information and methods. guess how much sleep I 'will lose' over that?

the onew who care what I say are my only aim. Enjoy your Yudud. You deserve everything that it cannot do.

  • @acebpd No...actually I am on youtube trying to enlighten people and I have made a lot of equipment doing just that. Just not for YOU. You remind of the worm that flips off the crow. Stupid and doomed worm. Among many. Yudud was made for people like you. Except that USUALLY people are not in love with their own ignorance once they get a pointer to better. I could get better prints off a breadboard/a real screen and a real squeegee than you get off your Yudu. Uh...and how much did you pay?

  • @youteesdotnet whats your problem with yudu? seriously? i get it, you have a "Wayyy" better screen printing method, but ive seen your page.. you have over 20 vids at least at 10 mins longer showing how to do things...

I like Yudu, because it doesn't take as LONG as that, and it is quite effective. When i first got mine, i was quite skeptical, but i love it. Its time saving, easy to use, and my designs always turn out great.

  • @acebpd ....I have 22 vids up(not even counting the 40 on my other channel)and there will be many more. Yet YOU have ZEEEEERO. why don't you put up some amAzing Yudu vids of you in Yudu action!!!!! Talk bout being a big mouth with nothing to be big mouthed ABOUT!....

  • @acebpd said: "I have yudu and i have a succesful business selling shirts! I make very good money with 4 yudus very good."

I higly doubt this!...but if it is true...please tell me where you live so i know where i can come and sell crap to ignorant people, should the need ever arise!

  • @youteesdotnet another mad screen printer get a life cock sucker!

  • GREAT TIPS!!!!!

  • Hi there, I like that you use the vinyl. How many can you do with it? and do you get crisp lines like with the emulsion?

  • A Cricket? Come again WHERE DO I BUY THOSE?! That black thing. Where do I buy it Michaels? Can you please tell me. Thanks

  • Just to be clear, those last 2 comments were directed at YouTees, not you Sandy. Sandy, I love that you had a Yudu and then went to Rynonet and bought a real press. Yudu and Rynonet are the 2 things that keep YouTees awake at night.

  • I own a real shop and I have many friends in the industry, we send eachother messages when you post new videos, and laugh are asses off. our favorite is when you say "I invented micro tuners on screens" that is as old as screen prionting itself. Most places outside of the US still do it that way. It wouldn't be so bad if you would just present your product, but your arogance that everyone else is wrong and you are right is why you are a joke.

  • I know it must have been hard when you were busy making your "screen printing" equipment and saw the first Yudu infomercial. You must have said "oh crap someone made crappy equpiment like mine but marketed better." Don't get me wrong Yudu sucks, but so does your equipment. Are you seriously telling people to print, put in the oven, and print again. are you serious? Sorry to break it to you but you are a joke in the industry.

  • How much time are you spending(time yourself)loading tees on that silly yudu style platen; printing the tee; finding a place to lay it out? (Imagine how much worse that would be if you had 25 or 50 or ? shirts!?) If you could load and print remove for cure, (and have clean fingers!)in 15 seconds(or MUCH less, after you practice) each tee shirt, and be able to stack them right on top of eachother...would you not want such benefits???? IT IS EASIER THAN WHAT YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW.

  • craftysansan: PLEASE do not misunderstand me! YOU are obviously an intelligent and creative lady(the cricket tweak is smart!...for some things but it is NOT what yudu sends). Yes Yudu emulsion sheets prices are CRAZY! Liquid emulsion is cheap and easy. I am posting a series of videos today over at 'combatscreenprinter'(because getting the truth out IS a fight!). Please watch them when/if you can. Your heart to print deserves more than Yudu and some cool but lacking tweaks can honor you with.

  • 1. your squeegee should be wide enough to cover the WHOLE design during the pass. 2.)It should take no more than one or two passes(if you had a decent squeegee)to put black down. 3.) Your squeegee and hands are a MESS with ink! I WANT you to have MORE fun and success than Yudu has led you to know and do! You are struggling / leading others to do the same. Screen Printing has FAR better to give and YOU can give better TO it as well. You don't need to work half as hard as you are.

  • My Ethic: If you cannot apply your art/skill/ trade with respect toward REALITY and with PASSION...then get out of the way, because there IS somebody ELSE who can! I have met many 'empty heads with full pockets' in my day. I chose to get my profits from real skills enjoyed and shared. A busy/honest/creative mind will get you through life than profits based on little to nothing of real value. My customers know this about me. They thank me for it often. I consider that of value.

  • Youtees, jealousy is a very stinky cologne

  • @girard78 Did you graduate high school? HOW...with my 30 years experience in real screen printing and what it takes AND being a designer of FAR better working(and cheaper)equipment, does that equal "jealousy"???? Everything I said was to hopefully help this lady and INTELLIGENT people out. And then there are those who TOTALLY miss that. Guess you are their representative today! 'DuYu' want a Yudud? GLAD to sell you MINE.. I ONLY needed for some comparison vids. It is useless otherwise to me.

  • Comment removed

  • @girard78 @girard78 Jealousy is not half as "stinky" as the ignorance you apparently choose to be stuck with. BTW: I have a YuDu, because one of my customers TRADED his "bad mistake" to me for one of MY presses. And I just got THREE emails today from people who thanked me for "saving" them from buying a Yudu. THEY were ONCE ignorant...YOU still are. YOUR call. I know better. WAAAAAAAY better.

  • @girard78 you will need more than dime a dozen; misplaced quotes to be a decent screen printer. I DO get upset when I see what marketeers do to a process that deserves far better. I PROVE that 'better' everyday and in every press I make and customer I help. You go ahead and stand up for "yudu'. I KNOW that "ignorance is bliss" (there's a quote for YOU)for many people, even after I share the truth. I cannot change that. I can only help those for who ignorance is temporary, instead of a choice!

  • @youteesdotnet Hi ! The yudu is a good machine for those who are just crafty. People really are not trying to make a business out of this. It is perfect for craft nights for the young girls at church, and sleep overs. I have done some of these for a dance exercise group we do. I have seen how they do these in a professional setting and by far, the professionals do it more economically. So for those who are trying to set up a business, please do your research. But as for me, I am just a crafter

  • Yes...I build and sell Sp equipment. I would never offer a thing to anybody if I had only the marketeers approach to SP that Yudu takes for profits...at YOUR expense. I would be ashamed to provide what they provide and call it 'screen printing equipment'. Take any element of the Yudu(screen, squeegee, platen...etc)and they have dropped tha ball at EVERY step! I wish you were at my house right now, I would be very happy to show you how to do it faster;cheaper , with better results and more FUN.

  • also...at 1:23 you pick up your 'squeegee' from laying down in the INK(we can see the ink it was laying in!)You NEVER lay a squeegee so that it can get ink where your fingers go! This is just BASIC sense in SP BUT Yudu screen design does not even give you a way to stand up your squeegee to avoid getting ink on the back of it! I KNOW(even though you do not show it of course)that you are having to wipe the ink off the back of your 'ink spreader' ...OR smear it on the shirts. Yudu is Junk.

  • all that being said...you are having fun SP and that is great! Good for you. BUT it is also that true motivation that you have that makes me want to tell you these things!!! Yudu does not deserve people who really get into SP. When you were three YO you rode a ticycle and you thought it was a 'real bike'...and then oneday you got a real bike. Time for you to get a real 'bike'(screen print setup) that will be kinder to your real motivation and desire to print! I very much support your love of SP!

  • ...and that squeegee! What they call a squeegee anyway. Let me do at least THIS much to get you thinking in a better direction: Go to a real screen print supply dealership and buy yourself a REAL (70 durometer nylon blade in wooden handle)squeegee. and DUMP that plastic thing you can barely hold onto as you print. THEN it may start to dawn on you that YuDu is NOT real tools or screen printing. I never said it was "$500". I could set you up better than a Yudu for $200 or LESS.

  • You can get a whole quart of MUCH easier to use and better quality ink for fraction of the cost(per unit comparison)of the Yudu inks. In the time it takes YOU to even load a tee shirt(bears)on that ridiculous 'platen' they give you, I would have the tee loaded, printed and in the cure process(25 seconds till dry)...meanwhile you are still looking for places to lay out shirts to air dry. Yudu takes JUST enough from SP to take bigger advantage of those who do not know better. Better costs LESS.

  • With respect:-you are ignorant. Yudu has you using the worst ink and paying the most for the worst type of supplies. It is a toy...with exorbitant ongoing expenses. Examples: a REAL(as in screen printing supply company) screen is better made and costs up to half the cost of a Yudu poorly made and too small screen. It is FAR les expensive to buy platen adhesive in a spray can or liguid emulsion than the way yudu packages it. It works for the marketteers FAR better than it can ever work for SP.

  • This is nothing more than a toy! It is more marketing hype than screen print reality. WHY would you pay more to print with a YUDU than it costs to do it the way REAL screen printers so it? See my 'all about Screen printing' videos and you will soon know the reality. Get pro advice mot the marketeer hype. Also see the video: 'youtees vs Yudu Screen printing' here on youtube.

  • how much does it cost for that

  • i need help with my yudu. Every time i try to put something on my screen and i go to rinse off the emulsion on the spots it was it exposed, my emulsion washes off. I havent been able to get an image onto my screen. I followed all the steps. Just dont know what im doing wrong.

  • o_O hi my name is spooky i scare the shit outta youtubers

  • you said you have a hard time finding products you needed for it? well, for the cost of the yudu, you could have purchased wholesale screen printing products and you would have an easier time. and also, if you got the 4 screen table topper, you could easily make 4 shirts at once. that cuts down on time.

  • Where do you buy your Vinyl. I just bought a Cricut and I would love to make some shirts for my girls Softball team, the vinyl idea is great. I looked over on ebay and they are many different kinds of vinyl, if you can tell me the one you used that would be wonderful. Thank you.

  • Absolutely awesome Thank you so very much!!!

  • One: where does one find the plastic

Two: What the heck is basting and why do I need to spray it?

Three: What is "an extra piece of this" mean... Wood, some different type of plastic, etc

Fourth: What needs to be thicker, the ink, the shirt, etc

Fifth: What is it that you're peeling off? Where can we get it? What does it have to do with emulsion? And what kind of tape did you use

Sorry, for all the question but I am new to this and I would like to use you ideas..

    Thank you

  • Sandy, thanks for the tips but I haven't received my order yet. You make it sound like the person watching this already knows what the heck you're talking about.... Lost me!

  • Can you tell me which cricut you bought and can you hook it up to your computer to make your own art work and not their's????

  • @JanelleFinley1 photoshop. design your image if you know how to, print it out on transfer paper (clear) but the text or image hhas to be black and WALA print it out and you have your own artwork and design.

  • These tips are great! I've been using the coupons for Michaels and purchasing supplies on ebay but this tops them all. I have a small business and I love the idea of the vinyl. I have the Cricut and use it to cut out letters but I've never tried the vinyl. Question....what program or cartridge do you use to cut anything?

  • Comment removed

  • Great tips thanks for the info!!

  • you can buy vinyl on ebay for about 80 cents per 12x12 sheet in all colors I ordered some and it works GREAT!!Just type in cricut vinyl in the search box. Thanks for the Tips!

  • Where do you find the vinyl? How do you use it to create the image?

  • grandma thanks for the tip!

....oh, and next time please put some pants on!

  • Thanks for sharing craftysansan . . . I'm saving this.

  • @tokyorose999 and other inquiring folks,

    OOPS! SPELLING CORRECTION

She said that she also has a "Cricut", which is another krafts machine that cuts out designs/ drawings ( I think from the computer). It's completely separate from the YUDU.

  • @tokyorose999 and other inquiring folks,

She said that she also has a "Cricket", which is another krafts machine that cuts out designs/ drawings ( I think from the computer). It's completely separate from the YUDU.

  • wait i dont get how you cut the design into the vinyl

  • tight!

  • how much is this

  • nifty trick there little lady.

  • Sandy, thanks for sharing your ingenious secrets with us. Quick question though, how does the Cricut handle smaller more intricate designs? Can it cut them with the same clean precision as your "Bad News Bears" design. Also, other than taping-off the edges, does the vinyl cut-out stay adhered to the screen well, or do you have to use some kind of spray adhesive? Thanks.

  • actually, i was considering using my penis. it is small, but gets the job done. it is very convenient for opening boxes. for it has a sharp edge

  • @purplesnozzberries I would pay to see that.

  • i Wnat onesoooo bad to make t shirts how much do it cost

  • whats a cricit

  • Sandy you are great!

  • what type of vinyl you used and how did you get the vinyl to stay on your screen?

  • @Reneasmallwood did u get the answer for the vinyls? i will like to know wat vinyl to use

  • When you use your cricket can you make your own designs? Or so you need to use the cartages that come with it? I design my own art on my pc and would love to cut it out in vinyl but can I do that with a cricket?

  • i have a vinyl plotter and i was wondering if i could use vinyl instead of that emulsion stuff. have you noticed a down side to using vinyl compared to emulsion?

  • awesome!! thank you soooo much!

  • How did you attach the vinyl to the screen

  • Hi can you please tell me where I can find vinyl here in Las Vegas. Very interesting!

  • Sandy how did you use vinyl instead of emulsion for your screen and where can you get vinyl to use for the screen?

  • actually where do you get the sure cuts a lot program??

  • would any cricut machine work?

  • can you do a video on how you setup the vinyl?...im not sure hoe you did it

  • Where did you get the Vinyl?? That looks awesome!!

  • Where are your pants?

  • awesome ideas especially the Vinyl ! great job seeing i have a vinyl cutter no more emultion crap thanks

  • what other brands of inks can i use on my yudu??

  • Did you have to use the design studio on this to center the words?

  • I thought that you could do this, I just bought the yudu, and I was online talking to some people about doing this, and everybody said that it wouldn't work, but I thought that it would, Thanks for helping me prove that I was right!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I am thinking about buying a yudu and possibly a circut as well so i dont have to deal with the stress and mess of emulsion. My question is,can you only use yudu brand ink with the machine as the website claims? Can you use other brands of ink?

  • where can i find the vinyl?

  • brillian idea.

  • its neat masking idea, good thinking cleaner line (edge) we make vinyl sing only our cutter 24in wide and vinyl10 yard cost us 28$ a roll-

  • Thanks so much for the Tip. Love the Yudu hate the cost this is going to save money.

  • What can I do to keep the ink from fading in the wash?

  • Where can I buy cricket sheet? help

  • like your video, where can I buy cricket.

  • @ozigon1 Hi - It's a Cricut Machine - you can purchase them at any arts&craft store. Hobby lobby, joann fabrics, michaels, ebay. comes is 3 sizes for budget concious consumers.

  • Where can i get the vinyl for this? Please help

  • Kewl. thanks for the tips. Gotta figure out the Criket thing though.

  • Hon, I would like to know where you got your plastic for the extra shirt forms. I have looked high and low and cannot find anything but roofing plastic.

  • @amjones56

You can buy these from a hardware store. In Australia its called corflute and in the US its called Coroplast. You can buy this stuff from sign supply shops as well in the US. YOu can buy it at 3mm - 5mm and in some cases 8mm.

    Hope it helps.

  • do you think, i can take in a print or clip art to sign store and they can cut out a vinyl for me? Of course i'll pay.

  • Yes absolutely. Just go in and ask for a sticker with your design and make sure they apply application tape. A good vinyl to use is Arlon 2100 which is a very sticky vinyl, its thin a tad pricey but its the best for this. Anyone trying to work out what this lady meant by the cricket don't worry about it. Just get the design cut out using a viynl cutter, apply the application tape, place on yur screen and apply and shazam you have your screen.

    Hope this helps.

  • you can also use cardboard . thats what i like using...

  • This one was one of the best as far as helpful hint I have seen so far. Thanks!

  • Cricket is a arts and crafts portable printing machine.

  • whats the cricket kind of lost

  • put some pants on

  • great work sandy!! im using the same method to do smaller jobs on tshirts.

  • I like your video, thanks. Can I ask you something, where do you get the supplies?I have alot of questios, I hope you answer my first question, thanks again!

  • Do you have to keep adding paint when you screen the artwork on multiple shirts?

  • yes you have to add paint to each shirt.

  • Do you just tape it on and pull your paint or do you have to wet the screen or do anything else beforehand?

  • Sandy, you are awesome! Can you tell me where to get the vinyl sticky sheets for a buck? I just bought a yu du and a cricket also. I was worried about going through a lot of sheets, your cricket idea is fantastic. Love your video.

    Natalie

  • never thought about using vinyl to screen print especially smooth cut by a cricut and not by hand. way to go.

  • you are a star!

Nice tees! used to love that tv series!

  • i think that u have some good ideas

  • please post all your tips and trick for us to see, this is a great your video was just to sort mam and your instruction went to way (imo) good job none the less....post more

  • You can do the same thing by hand-cutting stencils so you don't use the more expensive emulsion sheets every time you change designs.

I hand-cut stencils out of bristol or sometimes even out of my scrap paper I laying around. You just put it over the surface your printing on and it will stick to the ink on the back of the screen and stay with you for many editions.

  • Can I use contact paper if I can't find any vinyl sheets ??

  • Yes, I purchase my contact paper from

Fred's and it works great. The only problem I have is that the cricut cuts so detailed that it cuts my holes out of my letters and I have to keep up with them. Does anyone have a solution for that?

  • I prefer freezer paper, because of the sticky backside to it.. what i do is place the stencil of the print minus the smaller letter parts.. once i iron on that part to keep it in place, then i put the inside letter pieces in place and then press them on.. it works perfect, you just have to be patient with a steady hand to make sure they are aligned properly !!

  • thank thank you you i am having he same proplem with the emulsin sheets, ad i have tons of vinyl because of my cricut machine.

  • how do you apply the vinyl to the screen though? I can not find it anywhere on you tube.

  • can you only use Yudo brand ink, or can you use any kind of ink? What kind of ink do you use?

  • Where can I buy and have the vinyl cut?

How much did you say it cost?

  • Hi,

great tips. when you used vinyl this means you didnt have to burn the screen correct?

  • You are very thrifty thanks for the tips!

  • I love the idea of using the vinyl. Thanks for that tip.

    Lori

  • very cool.

But how are you cutting it and the weeding and getting on to the screen ?

    Thanks
