And that seems pretty fast even. Paints for whole car under 300euros. Painting job for a car by professionals, 2000-4000euros -I just hate that. I wish I had good conditions and skills to paint myself.
i've used a few different paints such as basf sherwin and ppg so far ppg is the best on color match their deltron solvent system is very good but the envirobase hp is off the hook the color match is supernatural no need for wetbeds on mettalics it will not halo if you know what your doing the only problem is the paint color will confuse you when its wet reds look blue silvers look greenish gold and blacks look blueish green until the base is dry
i gotta say i learned how to spray waterborne....at first i hated it caise u spray a 75 percent over lape and at a faster speed its cool how when u get to wet its really dark and it drys quick.....goothing school gave me the chance to learn water base
have you ever heard of the Anest Iwata LVP-400?? It sprays waterbourn solvent and clear like butter with less overspray(material waste) its truly better than Sata and costs less!!!

This guy should not be giving demonstrations. He is doing effect coats waaaaaay too wet and then he wipes off the effect he was going for with a tac rag.Onyx sucks ass.Never matches,no coverage, dries terrible. All waterborne sucks. The worst thing for our trade.Gonna have to find something else to do after 20 years of painting.
@biwon ........ nothing stays the same and you gota evolve and adapt as technology does or you become a dinosaur very quicky.......... been painting 29yrs and own a shop
@DAVIDEPWDD Evolving is suppossed to be for the better....Waterborne is going backwards.Ive been painting for 20 years and I can beat the hell out of urethane paints.Waterborne is a scam. The paint companies are working with epa.and cdc.Ive been using onyx for a year Most of the colors dont match'they dont cover worth a shit, your forced to but expensive equip.(dryers, fan systems for booth)$1000.00s' of extra dollars. The toners are smaller and cost 3 times what urethane does.Is that evolving?????
In short and simple; water base paint means it contain water as a solvent and solvent base paint contain organic/inorganic solvent like MTO/white sprite, xylene, MIBK solvent etc..
water base paints have not good durability then solvent base paints
THANKS FOR SHOWING THIS VIDEO. IN MY 39 YRS IN THIS BUSINESS I'VE NEVER USED WATERBORNE PAINT MATERIALS, SO PLEASE BARE WITH ME ON THESE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS: 1. What costs less, PPG's CONCEPT bc/cc paint OR this waterborne. 2. how long before you can cut/buff the clear? 3. Is the clearcoat some sort of special material JUST for the "Waterborne" set up? thanks again, and let's SUBSCRIBE to each other? Bob Appleton :-)
hi mate, waterborne paints are more expensive when you consider there is no reducer to reduce the base coat, only mayb 10% water, so you run through paint much quicker, it takes longer to dry base and clear, so to cut it i just leave it till the next day. the clearcoat is a spechal one only for water base, it is not advised ti use on solvent base
@hudfadz waterborne are thicker in consistency even if it's reduced and it dries by the air flow of the booth or dries by a waterborne dry blower. There's no special clear for waterbone, you can use the clear that is used for solvent.
if you havent got a spray booth and did this technique..the paint whould dry after 24 hrs..1st coat must be dusted and you will have to see the primer 2nd coat must cover 70% so you should still see the primer ,and 3rd coat has to be full coverage..use a heat gun to dry the paint..will be dry in 15 min.
sata 3000 rp u favor it more than the w400, have u heard about optima 900l? when u say sata 3000rp is your favorite, can u explain why? compared to your w400 thanks in advance, btw GREAT JOB...
I find it just puts the material out quicker and it makes it easier to keep a wet edge, the finish is pretty comparable with the W400, the RP seems easier to spray with. They are both great guns. I haven`t heard of the optima 900i, whats the story with it, is that made by Iwata?
No, the optima 900i is german. I never used one or even see one but i was told that they are one of the best guns on the market. Really expensive too, about 700$ for the top ones.
They are made by Bersch & Fratscher GmbH if you want to see his web.
very nice man!I can't see the pressure you are using for base coat including the drop coat. And yes SATA 3000 RP is a bad ass gun for the clear I use one myself, probably the best gun outhere
You Should have Sprayed all of your Edges fist so that you don't have any over spray on your hood
