  • Wow.. great stuff - and awesome harmony!

  • Great job on these two bluegrass classics by Beth and the band

  • beautiful, traditional, mountain music;nothing better in the world/ god bless america

  • Lawrence Welk would say "wunnerful wunnerful"

  • Great stuff !!......Once More is one of my all time favourites, and this was one of the best versions i've heard.

  • You aren't Don and Chris! LOL sorry, my friends sing both of these songs! :3 How perfect that these two should sing these songs!

  • Man oh Man that is purdy singing, just aint none better

  • All Acoustic, the real kind, as well. Pretty nice recording.

  • That's what I thought but I wanted to here it from someone knowledgeable. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for the reply and you bring out all the beautiful sound that's so much like Oz's Dobro.I like the old style of the Dobro like you play;in fact I quite playing on account of the new sounds of the modern resonator guitars, makes me sick at the direction bluegrass music has turned.Keep up the good picking and I look forward to hearing you more .Incidentally, would you know who played the Dobro in the Osborn Bros. Red Allen recording from back in the sixties ? Regards

  • @tnhounddawg

It was Shot Jackson! The Osbornes & Red recorded this in July 1957 at RCA Studios in Nashville. Back then, Shot did most of the session work on Dobro for the various artists recording in Nashville.

  • Great band !Would anyone know if the Dobro is a model 27 and is it tuned to A tuning? Thanks for sharing the video .

  • @tnhounddawg

    Hi TNHD!

This is a factory restored Model 27 Dobro (from 1929) which I actually bought at the Dobro Factory in California, in 1981. It was originally a round neck which had the neck broken and the factory replaced the neck with a square neck plus they also refinished it. I keep it in G tuning.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Thanks for posting these beautiful songs, enjoyed them very much. That band would go down well at the Bluegrass Festival here in Ireland in Athy.

  • It's always interesting to hear such excellent variations of the originals. This is right up there with the Osborne Brothers!!!!

  • This band is the "Stone Hearth Band", but presently she has the "Beth Coleman Band" which has 3 of the same members as here. Beth just released a new CD called "Back Home To Galax."

  • @Pickinbuddy Is this song on the CD?

  • @overcominginertia The song "Once More" is, but not "Ashes Of Love". There are a lot of other equally good songs on the album--I got a copy of it!

  • @Pickinbuddy Thanks. I will get a copy myself. I found it on Amazon. Great rendition of this tune.

  • I love this song (Once More). Thanks for posting it! My grandad use to play bluegrass around MD/DC/VA and this was one of the song sheets he had.

  • I love the older songs - you can't beat a fiddle, guitar, banjo and an old upright bass. The band does a great job with this song - one of the most popular I believe of the 50's. Pure bluegrass - wow Thanks. - Paula

  • Very nice music and a pleasant group to listen to. Thanks for sharing them with us.

    Bill T

  • kwl i see her every month and she is really good!

  • I finally found this song!! My mom and her 3 sister's would harmonize to this song and play guitar.. brings back fond memories of the family jammin' to tunes in the early 80's... great video..

  • Good songs, well done !

  • Thanks for posting.Old songs, still good to hear.

  • Yes siree, that's ole Billy Turner on both songs. You pegged it. Thanks for the addition to my collection, bnxcomet
