I shot this story for Wash. DC PM Magizine in 1979. Henry was great to work with. We traveled to a lot of exotic places with the PM crew. Funny, Warner talked about returning to DC towards the end of the piece and his wish came true. He returned to Ch 9 in the early 90s but only stayed a couple of years. They wanted to change his style and he told them to stuff it! I had met him for the first time that day in NY but I was the ch9 sports editor when he came back and loved working with him.
Oh the nostalga. I remember when Warner Wolf was on Eyewitness News and when he left for channel 2 (WCBS). Spencer Christian, the weatherman he used to make fun of, took his place as the sports reporter in Eyewitness News.
Notice that by this point, WABC-TV began using Ikegami HK-312C cameras, as replacement for the ol' reliable Norelco PC-70's the station used for years.

He was at Channel 9 for around 10 years, first as a feature reporter, then the PM host.
