yer it is the 4g i have the same one but black. Not all eee pcs have webcam so choose wisely personally i chose EEE PC 701 4b because its cheap and fully customizable!! Hope this helps

because i never used any operating system besides windows most of the questions will be about Linux

1.does Linux support normal windows photo format? jpg png etc etc..

if it does ill probably order it right away...

JPG and PNG are not specifically tied to Windows, and every major operating supports them :-).

Does the eee pc's card reader support SDHC cards? I'm planning to buy an 8gig class 2 card for my eee pc. Just want to make sure if it will work with my eee.

hmmm.... so you can easily connect to teh internet? I don't know much basically about the mechanics of computers, but does that mean i can only connect in a wifi area, or will there be a problem if i try to connect at home? I'm VERY interested in buying this laptop and have been for a while. Not sure on how much space that really is and of course teh drawback is no cd/dvd drive. I would really like to test run it or meet someone who has one.

you can get an SD card for more space, and u can also get a usb cd/dvd reader if u want cds

the space provided is enough for the applications its providing really. if you needed more you can always plug in a usb memory stick. when i comes to your home internet it depends on how that is setup, do you know if it's wireless? if it is it would be as easy as he shows.

a usb cd drive can be purchased fairly cheaply if needed, altho moost software installed can be downloaded via the internet for this

my 2.5yr old HP notebook (running XP Home) starts up in 30sec or just under... granted it takes a few more seconds to connect to my wireless, but 30sec to me isn't all that impressive.

yeah but thats a laptop..this isnt supposed to rival proper laptops, its like a mini pc, very small, compared to your laptop which is probably 2-3times bigger in size/memory/processor speed etc, so, your laptop isnt all that good, my laptop, which is pretty impressive, takes a couple minutes to boot from turn on, as it runs windows vista :/ so it could depend on what operating system your running n stuff lol. :) wow i type a lot of shit

i don't use opera and i don't have an eee pc but i do know that opera on other handhelds has a website shrinking feature which shrinks webpages for more complete viewing on small screens.
