I wish I was as old as I am now back in his day. He was an amazing actor who could portray all kinds of unique characters. Because of him, Dr. Loomis is, and always will be, my all-time favorite horror movie character ever. He was the wise old man whom no one believed, who was underestimated, and at times, treated like crap. He sometimes used unconventional methods, but deep down, he was well-meaning and just wanted to save innocent people's lives.

Long live the memory of Donald H. Pleasence.

What made the Loomis character so great and one of the greatest heroes in any movie is you saw how hard he tried to stop Michael. He warned everyone from the doctors to people yet no one could believe or understand what a force Michael was. By the time he aged, he had nothing left to fight with. One of the greatest heroes in movies. The normal man fighting and struggling yet giving everything he had against the unstoppable force that normal human comprehension could never understand.

When I first saw "Halloween The Curse of Michael Myers" and saw the note in memory of him, I hoped it wasn't true. That is how I knew him, but he did so much more in his career that I can barely fathom. I will surely look at all of his great work... and remember him as the passionate, unceasing character he was in this series.

Donald is an excellent actor!!! Having a WEALTH of experience in Theater/Broadway made him the actor that he was. I COULD NOT imagine anyone else playing Dr. Loomis at the time when the original Halloween Series hit the theaters in 1978. RIP Donald (to a LEGENDARY actor).

Why, oh why did he waste his last moments of screen time on a dopey Halloween sequel... The man should have looked at better, more dignified roles, but I suppose that is the curse of type-casting, thank goodness Anthony Hopkins and even recently Robin Williams and Jim Carey are somewhat able to escape their famouse characters, unfortunately the same cannot be said of Ed Harris, Keanu Reeves, or even Jack Nicholson (though The Departed was a good attempt).
