  • Health care is a right, not a privilege for the wealthy.

  • I cant even call this women stupid because healthcare sucks in The US. mannn smh.... Its that bad!

  • Canada ftw

  • she could'a moved to Canada xD

  • Hi there!

Are you tired, bored with your life, bored with your work?

THEN ASK YOUR DOCTOR if shooting yourself in the face is good for you!

  • this is why you get a JOB..... health insurance comes with most full time imployment... If not then you should be making enough money is said full time job to cover a doctors vist.. get financial assistance its real easy and simple to obtaine.

  • @abkhome yeah right, you try getting a good job with health insurance in fucking Michigan...

  • This is why we need single-payer healthcare.

  • what a joke....sell your dog lady

  • @REDTEAM22003 For thousands of dollars? Health care is not cheap... My aunt lives in America and she paid 75, 000 for eye surgery. How many dogs would she need to pay that off?

  • @HatemailMagnet tell your aunt to STOP buying shit from china and start buying stuff made in the USA so the people there can have jobs.

  • Comment removed

  • @HatemailMagnet dumb nigga

  • Pain can make you do crazy things. What's the charge, stealing "health-care". Go after Wall Street & crooked banks & get the bail-out money back.

  • it's the republican health care system!

  • Glad I live in Canada

  • Are you sure that she's not just an addict who wanted diazipam or whatever that pain killer is called? Ugh...

  • technically if your arm was cut off and you slap yourself in the face, your brain only deals with the immediate pain, but sad story though

  • I find this sad when our nation has become so shitty that people have to shoot themselves just to hopefully get some help.

  • @Necromancer679 I agree... It's pathetic.. EVERYONE DESERVES competent, quality care! Gawd knows we all pay enough taxes!!

  • @kastnmagic sadly America sucks

  • @Necromancer679 Sadly, you're very correct... I've been fortunate enough to experience living abroad and it gave me an opportunity to view not only America, but the rest of the world... I came to the sad conclusion thereafter that America is NOT what most Americans think it is...

YES, we have freedoms to be thankful for but so much about our country is WORSE than many other countries. I think every American should strive to see America from another perspective (ie; on the outside/lookin in)

  • @kastnmagic Indeed. I look at the media from other countries and I see they're doing so much better than us; I believe it's because they're governments actually care about its people.

  • this was in the town next to me lol

  • Economics-More poor americans their are, the more competitive US firms can be against chinese firms.China operates at an economy of scale-ie cheap labour-low production cost = high output & low price. American firms don't, due to their high cost of labour. Solution-''Increase internal poverty rate, thus creating a cheaper labour force, which would reduce production cost and thus beat prices of chinese goods''.You may not like Obama but he seems to be the only genuine politician for years to come

  • Only in America!

  • Its a JOKE their so called Health-Care is the biggest scheme in history.

Its absolutely unexplainable how u can have this shit.

    Wtf are u thinking Americans?

Learn for once in YOUR life from the rest of the world geez how can u be so dumb Texas Teeeeexas baby drill baby drill yihaaa.

  • maybe she should have used the gun to rob some people. then she would have the money to fix her arm.

  • @rcguy4373 She should had used it to get her health insurance companies to learn their place.

  • It is funny how despite all these massive flaws in the system conservatives keep saying that America has the best healthcare system in the world...

  • OMG thats her gf ? wtf

  • @I3lueGhost Gf in the sense of friend, you know the world Gf doesn't always refer to a sentimental or sexual partner. learn English Geez

  • should have shot herself in the face instead .. would have healed that riiight up

  • And that's what you get if we do not have free healthcare. Dumbasses. Pure Dumbasses.

  • The money she pays for cigarettes could go to health insurance. You guys sound like elementary school kids in your attempts to bash the current healthcare system. It's awfully pathetic.

  • @Nebraskahusker23 "The money she pays for cigarettes could go to health insurance. "

Great, where will she get the the remaining 90% of her premiums?

Not that it would help her much to have insurance. Her pain is a pre-existing condition.

  • Umm... has anyone considered the possibility that she just wanted narcotics and the doctors recognized her as an addict?

  • what a dumb ass.

i hope no one follows her dumb example.

  • She should've gone to Cuba.

  • I though it was mandatory to take some one in if they are sick even if they cannot afford it.

  • No, all of you commenters are wrong.

She should have fucking pawned the gun and the bullets. With that money she could have afforded a visit to a doctor, or at the very least something for the pain!

  • @i3rucei3ruce That would not be near enough, I recently had a CAT scan and even with insurence still cost me over $700 and that's not including the doctor;s vists or prescriptions.

  • Next time use the gun against the taxman you stupid bitch. The problem is the Mercantilist healthcare industry with no competition between the States, thanks to the regulations enforcing that each State has its own mandates and insurance packages, to protect overly high cost insurance plans. The problem is tort law that allows smheizers to push costs up. Actually those WERE problems, now you've Socialist 'care' so there'll be waiting lists even IF you shoot yourself.

    Should have shot to kill.

  • I'm wondering what kind fo charges are they going to press against her? Land of the free and home of the Brave.. liven the AMERICAN DREAM...

  • America is one fuckin stupid ass place.

  • wouldnt it have been smarter to use a pellet gun ? Or maybe get a job so you can afford a doctor? Quit being an ugly lazy bitch, bitch.

  • What kind of bullshit is this?

No health care treatment if you have no insurance unless you're dying?

So what, you wait for some small problems to get infected and escalate until you're close to death before you can get help? That's crazy.

  • @LeeAshen yup thats the way it works. I had a full time job for many years but my job didnt offer insurance and i could not afford it. i got an infected tooth and no dentist would pull it out ( that would have cost 100 to 300 dollars) because of my age. They would only offer to do expensive treatments that i could not afford. so i had to keep the tooth until it became life threatening. it became blindingly painful and i was developing ludwigs angina. then they pulled it.

  • @Aprilshowersss I feel bad, health care here is good =(

  • @LeeAshen feel bad for those still suffering in the Sates under those conditions, but not for me. I now live in Canada :)

  • @LeeAshen Laf, the land of free healthcare.

  • @LeeAshen it's not free, where do you think our tax money goes to? especially this new hst.

  • @Newfanese I know that the money didn't fall from the sky but I'm not exactly writing an essay about taxes now am I?

  • down with insurance companies. profiteer scumbags

  • @chrispollock down with the government that protects the insurance companies from competition, and causes the extreme high cost of healthcare!

  • @okvideos5 govt. doesn't protect em. insurance lobbyists and the corrupt, brainwashed legislators that take their graft money protect them. govt. abolition of privatized healthcare is the humane solution, but it doesn't happen because of insurance lobbyists

  • @chrispollock Your statement completley contradicts itself. So, the government lobbies and legislators are the cause, but the solution is to completley absolve the semblance of privatization we still have left, and give more power to the government over health care? aye aye aye. The great thing about life, is you can learn from people smarter than you.

    Here is a video. watch?v=A7z4iHCNHMI&

  • She should have gone to Mexico. In some parts of Mexico they have free health care. It is hard to find but its there.

  • @funkyhenry they're now offering child support and social security in mexico too!

  • i think it's funny how americans are complaining about illegals getting health care... total BS! NO BODY gets it for free! i mean look at this woman! she shot herself to get help but STILL nothing! so for all you whiny americans that complain about illegals getting health care... get yourself an education and acutally KNOW what it takes to get health care, welfare SSN etc.

  • @quackinator1

Exactly! And as a matter of fact illegals can not get ANY goverment assistance.

For they don't have a Social Security number, an ID, drivers license. Etc...

    They do however pay taxes.

Destroy myths that xenophobic Americans spread.

  • @funkyhenry thank you! that's what i'm trying to tell to all these st*pid ignorant people! but they refuse to believe it and keep living in their miserable lives that are filled with lies!

  • @funkyhenry wow that's stupid. Illegals don't pay any taxes at all except sales taxes.

  • @EliteAmericans

Actually they do. I live in San Antonio, Texas where there are lots of illegals. I know some who do pay taxes. Others own their own bussiness and pay taxes for that too.

  • @EliteAmericans And gas tax. And luxury taxes. And social security/income tax (if they have a fake SS card). And property taxes. And the list goes on...

  • See? This is PROOF we have the BEST HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD!

  • We see these people all the time.

I'm an EMT in Maryland.. people get Morphine for pain treatment, and they become addicted to it because its a narcotic.

They will do ANYTHING to get their fix, once hooked.

  • america is not the greatest country if this is how we treat the less fortunate.

  • well...very hilarious.

also...why dont you stop buying cigarettes and save the money to pay for the health insurance???

  • @houchi69 ~ idk, why can't a 56 year old woman get treated for an injury? you don't think she deserves it?

  • Comment removed

  • @tomitstube well it ISNT the greatest country. there is NO greatest country. lets get that clear first. she is 56, then she is very well aware of how the systems work by now, you need to pay for health insurance before you can actually receive affordable medical help. trying to abuse the emergency room is no different than an illegal immigrants that do the same thing, and the rest of the tax payers are paying for it. and i dont sympathize for people like her.

  • @houchi69 ~ "you need to pay for health insurance before you can actually receive affordable medical help." and for everybody else? 50,000 who just die rather than shoot themselves? what exactly are you defending?

  • @tomitstube not defending anything, just point out the facts. there is not gonna be free health care. even the universal health care does not mean its free. it may be cheap, but then again, with all the money actually pour into the cost of universal health care, it will be more costly than anything. the fact is that there will never be a perfect system where it pleases everyone. you should get used to that.

  • @houchi69 And if a dollar on every thousand, that billionaires own, gets taken to pay for the system, you would actually complain? I honestly wish cancer upon such people.

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri and instead of hating, you should try to do something with your energy in making a difference. and no, nobody likes what we have right now, especially for people like this lady. and thats why people should stop focusing on saying how terrible it is, and try to make a difference. your negative wishes and attitude isnt helping this lady get what she wants. so stop wasting your time.

  • @houchi69 I tried that, doing something. I would be in medical school right now if I didn't live in a fascist country where it costs more to get a lesser education than anywhere else on earth. I have 10 grand in loan debt and still had to drop out premed because I don't know anyone with the ~$100,000 (to throw away) that it would take to actually "do something" to change things.

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri and i already have way more respect for you than this woman in the video. people can start low, but that doesnt mean they have to stay low.

again, i dont feel sorry for this person. as a tax payer, its literally just people flushing the tax money into the toilet.

  • @houchi69 You know what I wish? I wish that people like you would get cancer. I wish that your bank accounts would be drained and that you would suffer to the point that you would beg a gang member for some diacetylmorphine. I WISH that you would actually come up against real life and that, in the process, a doctor would tell you "look, we have legal drugs 3 dozen times more potent than heroin, but I won't give them to you because you won't buy me a new yacht. Please fuck off and die now."

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri do i care what you wish?

and am i wrong? a lot of people has gone through difficult times, if everyone is like her, the world would have ended by now. and no, i dont feel sorry for her, because she chose her life. and again, i was simply stating the facts about America. people should be able to get help no matter who they are and regardless of their status. but that only exists in a perfect world, and we are not in one.

  • @houchi69 You're wrong about it having to be a perfect world, it just has to not be a laissez-faire capitalist world. The US ranks #37 in quality and standards of care while being #1 in cost.

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri well thats how it is in the US currently, and this woman will need to stick with it for now.

the thing is, if universal health care do pass, it would very likely backfire. less people would consider going into health care careers because it no longer pays. while most people may be able to afford health care, but with even undersupply of staffs, the care will only get worse. there are too many negatives about it unfortunately.

  • @houchi69 Bullshit. Absolute bullshit. And even if that is so, GOOD! Any doctor that has money on his mind is not a doctor I want. The doctor's primary concern is supposed to be for the well being of his patients, not his fucking Mercedes or his god damned yacht. You want to know why this country ranks #37 in standards and #1 in cost? Just think for a minute about priorities.

  • @houchi69 actually, doctors around the world get paid quite well.

Also, even in america, we are short staffed, especially with nurses.

Universal care isnt what causes shortages, its the high cost of university education that causes many people to not be able to become doctors.

  • @waltermh111 i know that they are paid very well, and thats one of the major drive for people to become health care professionals. and cost of education arent something that stops people, because usually(not always) your education will pay off in the long run. however, universal health care is very likely to make things worse. the cost of medical school very likely not going to decrease, while health care professionals' general salaries would very likely to go down. cause and effects.

  • @houchi69 the long run payoff isnt the problem. Not everybody can get grants and loans and even when they do, they dont get some large salary at the beginning and stay in debt for years, which can ruin their ability to succeed if anything happens to increase bills outside their control. Its a host of issues with the increase in tuition.

Also the fact that a degree takes so long people have to survive all that time.

Its not one of the simpler and economically easy professions to get into.

  • @waltermh111 I never said its a simpler, or one of the simpler professions. it is still, afterall, one of the best pay jobs in the US. and yes, if you take up loans for college, you will be in debt, but everyone will. that does not at all mean people cannot succeed because they have debt. everyone in the US is in debt.

you are right with the increase in tuition. but doctors do get paid during residensies.

  • @waltermh111 You're wasting your time trying to use facts, statistics and logic with people who live and operate on only their limbic brain.

  • @houchi69 Its odd how even after these last few years of discussion you continue to ignore the rest of the world which proves that UHC does not make things worse.

Also, India is a thriving medical industry and guess what, they are proud that one of the reasons is because they dont pay doctors ridiculous salaries.

Though they likely dont have such large insurance costs also and much of their field is subsidised.

There is no cause and effect in your explanation, only blindness to reality.

  • @waltermh111 we are afterall, discussing a case in the US, and "blindness to reality" doesnt make sense either. its reality, its facts. and yes, UHC may work for other countries, that does not mean it will work for all. i came from a country that has UHC, and it worked quite well.

the cause is UHC, the effects is what i typed before. read it carefully.

  • wonder what she would do if she has a headache

  • No wonder they didn't provide her any healthcare lol she was a lesbo :P jk

  • She should sue the hospital. IDK

  • We need free health care. We need to take money from people to help those in need.

  • Too bad she didn't put the gun in her mouth. Stupid bitch. No free health care for white trash like this. Americans are a bunch of lazy, fat, whiny, spoiled pigs.

  • redo health care reform, simple provide everyone medical coverage regardless of income and status. PERIOD!!!

  • here's what's likely going on. this woman is a drug addict. they gave her vicodin for the pain (i'm guessing she was already on valium for psych problems). she took it too fast (as addicts do) and went shopping around to several ERs in her area to try to get more. everyone refused her as people who can spot a drug seeker will. she hatched this crazy plan to try to force her doctors to give her more vicodin. that's why she's being charged. this report is her way of trying to gain public sympathy

  • @wubbadubdub This may be the case, I don't know I'm not a doctor. The way the story was told made it seem as though she was turned away because of not having health insurance. I mean hearing her say "If it wasn't life threatening, no insurance, you can't get no help." 2:06 , is fairly convincing. I'm not backing her action, that's just the dumbest way to go about getting help, but if she needs some help she aught to be helped without insurance being in the picture at all.

  • @Frostlander what's most likely is that she shot herself in the arm to get more vicodin. addicts frequently finish their vicodin too quickly, then start going into withdrawal. then they start going around to ERs asking for more. nobody will fill your vicodin early anymore, so they all turned her down. she probably freaked and gave this a 'shot.' notice how she shot herself superficially and in a very fatty area with a small caliber weapon -- good way to make sure no permanent damage was done.

  • @wubbadubdub Jeasus man. Who's paying you to spout that conjecture? If you have some information, or maybe a journalistic report on this woman that explicitly suggests this please share it. Solid evidence not your opinion.

  • @Frostlander just wait. it's going to come out soon enough that she's playing. her intention for participating in this news 'report' was obviously try to drum up public sympathy and support because she knows law enforcement wants to charge her to put an end to her drug-seeking, which has obviously becoming very dangerous. if they had any interest in taking an objective look at this woman's story, they would have interviewed her doctors. they just wanted her BS story. doesn't hold any water.

  • @wubbadubdub If you think hydrocodone and/or diazepam are THAT addictive then you must be a fucking cop. Please go catch a bullet in the head you fucking moron.

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri this woman is a former alcoholic and a smoker and clearly prone to impulsive, irrational, and self-destructive behavior. she's a high risk for abuse and/or becoming addicted. hydrocodone and diazepam are classic prescription drugs of abuse. many doctors have to deal with people drug-seeking for them on a daily basis, especially hydrocodone. good chance that's what is going on here for the most part.

  • @wubbadubdub Both are very weak drugs and if pain killers were actually prescribed in this country in the legal and legitimate way that they are taught to be prescribed in medical school, chronic pain would not be a problem. Titration to desired effect, pure and simple- but you secretly know that, don't you? This is a moral crusade for you, is it not?

  • notice which two drugs they show she is on: vicodin and valium. did anyone else notice that? man, this lady is just a classic drug-seeking drug addict. even wearing the sunglasses. it's amazing to me that the reporters didn't verify her statements with anyone before running this. probably didn't because finding out she's a known drug-seeker would torpedo the story.

  • @wubbadubdub your problem is that you arent showing us where you get your evidence for your beliefs.

You seem to be assuming everything from the video, and getting way more from it than is in it. Thats useless to rational people who again, need evidence.

Even if she was an addict, somebody should be able to encourage her into a counseling service.

Something she couldnt likely afford though, due to low income and no insurance.

  • @wubbadubdub though if there are free services out there in her area, every hospital should have a nurse trained to push addicts into them with enouragement. I am sure some addicts refuse but I do know that sadly, many are not helped this way.

  • @MedievalWerewolf right there with you.

  • @groam6666 i agree with you about the united states. we've never really been great. i don't know of any country that really was for any significant period of time, but that's beside the point. we've never been a great country, but we could be.

  • Wouldn't have happened in Britain.

Socialised healthcare for the motherfucking win.

  • how can anyone argue that the wars are to save american lives yet allow them to die from no healthcare

  • Then why don't The Young Turds pull out there own checkbook and pick up the tab for this moron.

  • Instead of spending trillions on these neocon wars they should use that money for universal health care.

  • she is a gay whore and gay are not normal people hence doing un-normal stuff.

  • white trash dike

  • I guess she should have secured insurance for herself

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! If you can't pay up, where is all your income going??? LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE!!!! EVERYONE SUFFERS BECAUSE A FEW PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD THE MOST ESSENTIAL THINGS THAT THEY AREN'T PUTTING THEIR MONEY TOWARDS!!! THE FIRST THING AN AMERICAN SHOULD BUY BEFORE A HOUSE IS HEALTH INSURANCE!!!! WHY???? BECAUSE IT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO BE PHYSICALLY HEALTHY THAN IT IT TO HAVE A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD!!!!

  • @Joynanners Excuse me? A "few" people? More than 30 MILLION Americans don't have health insurance. Not by design, because they're POOR. There are always going to be poor people, in every country. A country should take care of their poor. This is what America is about, it says on the Statue of Liberty; ""Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me..."

  • She is one of very few that would survive a jigsaw test

  • Its kinda funny how Americans have the worst diet on the face of the planet yet don't want affordable healthcare. Goes to show you how badly the country is run by corporations like the privat health sector, lol. Fools!

  • @803brando If these Teabaggers fuck things up for us like they've been doing since 2000, then I'm going to shoot for Canadian citizenship.

  • i would have faked appendicitis in my shoulder or something the idea of blowing my arm off wouldnt occur to me although it must have taken its toll for her to go to such extremes,id concider being in alot of pain as life threatening cos it drives people around the bend, slamming the door shut with string attached to your tooth dislocating jaws didnt come about cos there was no dentists heh pain makes you do crazy things

  • @solvish888 and crazy makes you do crazy things. this woman is clearly not of sound mind. it might not have taken much pain to get her to begin idealizing self-mutilation and then go ahead with it. people with mental illness mutilate themselves all the time and make up the craziest excuses for doing it later on. we don't know enough about this woman to really understand what is going on here. all we've got is her side of the story and it's very sketchy.

  • @wubbadubdub I think you're just arguing for the sake of argument.. Look at all the people you're debating.. My god. Let me ask you something. Do you have health insurance? If so, what company do you do business with?

  • GIRFRIEND!?!?!?!?

  • If she couldn't afford insurance, then she should have used Medicaid. After all, isn't that what it's for?

  • @xp19375 well some people are caught by the fact that they don't make enough to have decent insurance, but they make just enough that they can't get medicaid. that sucks. but insurance may really have nothing to do with this. she says herself that she was treated and was being medicated, but instead of returning to the doctor to follow-up and report that she was still in pain, she assumed the doctor wouldn't change her treatment so she shot herself. she could have gone back and should have.

  • @wubbadubdub

I know what you mean about Medicaid; my point was that a government program doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Of course, there are still free clinics and charities.

  • @xp19375 that's true.

  • u know who does this type of stuff bcuz of pain? junkies

  • @osoblanco91 very possible. i think it may be that she was drug seeking and upset that the doctor wouldn't give her narcotics so she shot herself. now she tells this bullshit sob story to the news who do not go ask her doc what's really going on. the way she tells her story, it doesn't add up. her apparent mental state and general attitude are consistent with being a junkie.

  • @wubbadubdub Now you're just judging her. Not only do you think healthcare is free, you think everyone with shoulder pain is a drug seeker. What a wonderful person you are.

  • @SexSteakSoda judging? the point is to not be naive. her behavior is highly consistent with drug-seeking, as is her explanation of the events and how she was treated. classic drug-seeking behavior actually. that may not be the case, but it's a possibility that has to be taken very seriously and one that could probably be dealt with simply by going to the ERs she's been frequenting and getting her permission to ask the doctors and nurses what the real story is.

  • @osoblanco91 look at the drugs she shows she's on in the video: vicodin and valium. with sunglasses on and her bullshit explanation for shooting herself, she's as stereotypical a drug seeker as you get.

  • Just for the record, broken bones, sprained ankles and broken noses, ALL eventually fix themselves, so this woman will not have a bad shoulder for the rest of her life as Ana applies. In fact, our treatment for broken bones is a simple cast, which does nothing to repair the bone, merely limits the person's movement of that body part.

  • @interstate317 just for the record you must not be a doctor and are an example of how the educational system has "failed". I'm also willing to guess you have never been in serious pain without hope of relief. bones might mend themselves but if they aren't set correctly they can lock in a permanent position that causes pain. a much longer explanation is required to correct your obvious lack of human physiology. and your lack of compassion for humanity is disheartening.

  • @coolfooly "bones might mend themselves but if they aren't set correctly they can lock in a permanent position that causes pain"

hence what the cast is for. In fact, that is exactly what I said a cast would do, keep the bone in place. How do you think you've disproved what I've said in any way?

  • @coolfooly just for the record, she didn't have any broken bones, from the Herald Palladium (the local newspaper):

"Smallmon said Myers had her shoulder injury checked out by doctors, who said she didn't have any broken bones but likely a torn or stretched ligament. They gave her pain pills, which he said hadn't taken away all the pain."

  • @interstate317 but if you receive no care for injuries they will never heal all the way/correctly that's why they use cast for broken bones but you have to have insurance for that. in this womens cases the tendon is torn and without ant sort of treatment (physical therapy or surgery) her shoulder would probably never heal

  • @Doc53 I never say she didn't need a cast or any kind of treatment. I was just saying that the only treatment for this stuff was to merely keep the bone in place while it repaired itself.

Its kind of like Band-Aids. They don't actually heel a cut, your body does that naturally, they just dis-infect them and prevent bacteria from getting in.

  • @Doc53 i think interstate's point is that ana is speaking out of her ass. we don't know what's really wrong and we can't really trust this crazy lady to give us a fair account of her doctor's treatment decisions/recommendations. it may be she's in so much pain because she's not following directions. or she may be lying and is actually drug-seeking. no one can say, based on these clips, that she is permanently injured.

  • To me, this is not evidence of how bad our healthcare system is, rather how bad our education system is.

  • Thank god we don't have this horrible health system in my country. It might take some time getting a scan or something but at least I CAN get it.

  • I'd bet Republicans are laughing their asses off to the banks!

  • So she can't afford insurance, but can afford to smoke? I bet there are some things she could cut out to have some sort of insurance. There never is going to be a perfect health care system, and this sure as hell isn't, but Obama care, and single payer isn't either, if anything it's worse. My brother is losing his insurance, and I have family friends that are in insurance, and the rate hikes that are coming do to the bill are ridiculous, and no one will be able to afford. The bill made it worse.

  • So we have people shooting themselves to try and get some help now. It's just plain sad.

  • Reminds me of the movie Major Payne, where he finds a trooper complaining of a war wound after being shot . Major Payne coms up to him and says 'Let me take your mind off the pain'. So he grabs his hand and breaks his finger, hahaha!

  • She should have tried to rob a 7-eleven with a tooth pick. She'd be in jail long enough to get that sucker fixed.

  • I'm from Malaysia. We have public health care but the system is swarm. As long as it is not life threatening, you have to wait your turn in the system. I know someone who have gull bladder and in serious pain but when he go to our public health care system, and got appointment to remove it in 2 month. Since it's too painful he gave up and go to private instead which remove it in 2 days.

Public + Private = best solution health care system.

  • If she goes to prison they will fix her shoulder. Isn't that a bitch?

  • @Logicllp there's no evidence in these clips that she needs anything 'fixed.' it's very possible that all she needs is anti-inflammatories, ice, rest, and time. the fact that it hurts doesn't mean she needs surgery. they should have interviewed her doctors to find out what the real story is.

  • @wubbadubdub Or, what we like to do in civilized countries, is first find out if you actually have an injury. This can be done with an MRI, CAT scan or X-ray. Uninsured Americans cannot do this, because they have no insurence. So, how would interviewing the doctor help determine if she actually has a problem. You really think it's logical to make a diagnosis without testing to see what the problem is first...

  • @groam6666 Very good point. Unfortunately you're arguing with an illogical idiot who would rather dismiss this woman as a "drug seeker" instead of address the issue at hand. He is a typical right wing jerk.

  • @SexSteakSoda not a good point at all. this is the problem with people who know nothing about how real medicine is done. they think doctors need and use special imaging for everything. they don't realize that the vast majority of diagnoses are made based purely on history and physical exam. there's a very good chance that based on her physical exam, she didn't need special imaging. they could tell just by examining her shoulder function that nothing was badly torn or otherwise injured.

  • @groam6666 you obviously know nothing about clinical medicine. most diagnoses are made based purely on the history of a patient's illness and their physical exam -- no special imaging. the physical exam consists of many little tests and does not require any MRIs, CT scans, or X-rays. just based on her description of how the injury happened and the physical exam, they could probably diagnose her, or at least rule out the need of special tests. that is probably what they did. standard practice.

  • @wubbadubdub So, they sent her off, without addressing the problem? If something was wrong with your shoulder, would you accept that kind of argument from a doctor? So, what did they diagnose her with, or at least do you think that how she was treated was fair?

  • @groam6666 for all you know (based on this report) they did address the problem. they took her history and did a physical exam and determined that the best treatment was anti-inflammatories. so they prescribed those and sent her home -- totally normal. likely they gave her instructions to ice her shoulder and rest it. that would be standard. we don't know if she followed their directions. it would also be standard for her to go back to her doc and tell him if things weren't working. she didn't.

  • @wubbadubdub You.. you have planted the seed of doubt in my mind lol. I will still disagree with you, soley based on principle. I live in Germany, which does have universal healthcare, the "normal" practices here are much more quality. If someone says that they have intense shoulder pain, they will most certainly have tests conducted other than what is in America considered routine. All I am saying is that doctors should be morally obligated to treat patients based on need, not profit.

  • @groam6666 i'm not so sure anything different would be done in germany -- it might just be a waste of resources. you're still assuming this woman's shoulder is seriously injured, but it might not be -- even if she's in a lot of pain. on the flip side, if she felt no pain, it would not be fair to conclude that she was not seriously injured -- she could be. joint pain is tricky like that. my point is, her level of pain tells us next to nothing. a physical exam of her shoulder would tell a lot.

  • @wubbadubdub ok, let me give you an example. My Girlfriend fell down the stairs, but she could still move her foot that was in pain. First thing done in the hospital, was an X-ray. 2 hours later, they found out nothing was broke. So she recieved a brace, pain killers and a scheduled follow up. The women in the video, say's she is in pain, that is enough reason in my mind to attempt to find a solution. Point is, she is refused treatment because she is not insured. The system here is less costly.

  • @groam6666 the first thing done was not an X-ray. see, the first thing done was a HISTORY -- they asked what happened and she said she fell down stairs and that her foot really hurts. how could they know what part to x-ray without a history? her history of trauma from impact threw up a red flag that a fracture was likely. they probably also did a focused physical exam to make sure that blood was still flowing to her feet and that she didn't have major nerve damage (foot moves -- good). . . .

  • @groam6666 . . .and they probably also looked at her foot to see if it was swollen or red or bleeding or deformed (these are all possible clues of a break). just based on the history and physical, they probably had a pretty good idea of whether or not it was broke. they gave her an x-ray either because they couldn't be sure enough if it was broken or because they wanted to see exactly where it was broken or how. the woman in the video had a totally different history and physical findings. . .

  • @groam6666 . . .so maybe she needed a totally different treatment. maybe they took her history and tested her shoulder and determined it was a dislocation that popped right back into place -- extremely common occurrence. nothing broken, nothing seriously torn. it might hurt just because a nerve got pinched and now there's swelling around it. when that happens, you have to wait for the swelling to go down or the nerve to recover. anti-inflammatories are the best treatment for that sort of thing.

  • @wubbadubdub When I had severe back pain, I wen't to the doctor. 2 weeks later I had an X-ray on my spine. Turns out, I have a vertabre that is not correctly fused with my pelvis, which causes my pain. The same assumption you made about the girl in the video, can be applied to me. But, there was something wrong with me and I was able to get treatment for it. You are setting a precedent of not trusting anyone who claims to be in pain. Are you suggesting that my X-ray was a waste of resources?
