The separatists caused 150 incidents of smashing, looting, beating and burning.
They made their point - now they have been put in prison to receive their punishments.
Life can continue now and the peaceful talks can hopefully reconvene.

That doesn't mean either was the true reincarnation, in fact I doubt either was as both children were simply selected for political reasons.
I suspect that the true Panchen Lama was one of the other boys on the list.

It had been until the riots.
Autonomy was on the table, China was being arrogant in demanding that Tibet submit it has always been under Chinese rule. Tibet was objecting, talks were moving forward, China would have given in - it was just saving face.
But instead of allowing the talks to continue, riots broke out, encouraged by foreign people like you who go around inciting hatred; and by the media who are completely one-sided and have been criticized by almost every press commission.

Before the rioting Tibet was intrinsically autonomous, but they lacked the ability to make its own decisions.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso has a long-held position that he wants autonomy for Tibet, and not independence. This is called the Middle Way Approach. You can read about it here

Before the BRUTAL chinese communist party invaded independent Tibet 60 years ago there were indentured farmers in Tibet, but NO slaves.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama (HHDL) called a full amnesty (which means freedom for all) before he left the jokhang temple the first time when china invaded Tibet in 1950. So HHDL freed them all.

Kham and Amdo are closed; travel agencies--except the ones lying to you for your money--will tell you honestly that travel is not possible to Tibet.
