I hope your company will be the first to create a reusable and one stage spacecraft ... Like making the spaceshuttle fly without boosters ... Is that even possible with todays technology or coming technology ?
yeah no joke! I love how within LESS than 70 years, man went from barely flying at Kitty Hawk, to landing on the Moon..doesn't seem like huge leaps and bounds have been accomplished by Nasa in the 40 plus years since..
@NICKRITZER well NASA is doing all it can. But without funding for larger journeys there is not much they can do. So because of the government we have gone stock in low earth orbit for to long. But still we have learned a great deal about long duration spaceflight which will help us when we finally decide to go for the moon or mars.
@NICKRITZER yeah, but you have to take into account the moon race with sovjet union, which ultimately was the only reason, why kennedy put so much money (I think 100 billion dollar if you take inflation into account) into the program -- the technique today may be better than 40 years ago, but that unfortunately doesn't say anything about the costs of such specialiced technique that is only built in very small numbers.
Amazing

They can't even return to the moon let alone make it to Mars.

I still am astonished that SpaceX is doing what only national governments had the capabilities to do

Why was the second stage sent into that highly elliptical orbit?
Frosttty 9 months ago
Would it be possible to de-orbit the second stage with the remaining fuel instead of throwing it into that highly elliptical orbit?
Will there be left over fuel when the capsule is loaded?

I can't wait to see a land landing of a Dragon! It's so excellent, it's almost surreal.

Congratulations SpaceX on your successful flight for the NASA COTS demo fight 1. Hope that the other demos and flights go just as well as this one.
