@richardthek HI, this video is a little old so the Kalyway method isn't really recommended. Today we use a "boot 132 disk" to boot the retail unmodified OS X 10.6 disk on the PC. On my system everything works stable with minimal changes to the system. I'm running on the AMI 3.7 BIOS cause 3.8 gave some issues with OS X. Only sleep isn't working (but I don't care). If you want more detailed information, send me a pm. ;)

when dual booting with a singe hard drive delete the os x partition and restore the windows boot loader and mbr. If you are dual booting using 2 separate hard drives, erase the partition table of the os x drive and install the MBR partition table.

boot the retail leopard disk with the boot 132 cd and install on your usb drive then with an other osx installation install the proper kexts and the chameleon bootloader (2 RC3)

Your card is not supported in osx you need to get a supported wifi card. Look at the hardware compatibility page (HCL) on insanelymac

You need the name of your wireless adapter then you can google for a driver for osx.

There is a package called usb fix on your installation dvd this should fix the problem i think

I can't give you a direct link the only thing i can tell you is what you need to look for. I now recommend XxX 10.5.6 DVD you can find this at the usual places like The Bay and The Green Daemon.

Hi my dvd is connected to the 3rd sata connector on the ICH8 chip, best driver for the gfx are the pc efi gfx strings for the 8800gt by cyclonefr. The bios settings are posted somewhere in the comments of this video and my bios version is 3.7 (cause osx can't run at 3.8). If you have any further questions you can also email me.

try another dvd that has the correct drivers for your chipset

Make sure the partition is set active and that the bootloader is installed correctly. Also make sure the bios boots to the right hard drive.

After all that I have stated it will tell me, "root filesystem is read-only; skipping kernel link generation." I am coming to assume that the install DVD cannot write the setup files to my internal HD. (I have only one HD and my computer is a Latitude D410 laptop). Any ideas on how to fix this?

The point where you can choose two commands is cuz you boot in single user mode (-s) just type exit. Also OSX install disk does not load files onto your internal hd at the boot process. Try another dvd or look around on forums with ppl having the same problem.

Ok, I used the "-v -x -y -s cpus=1" command at the boot prompt at it goes through the loading text. After a couple of minutes of waiting, it asks me if I wish to edit files with the two commands (can't remember them off the top of my head). I run them both and the second one will state that it device is locked. Then I type "exit" and it will go through a long process of scrolling white text and will state many times, "device is write locked."

-v -x -y -s cpus=1 these are kernel flags. What do they do? Well -v means verbose mode(the scrolling text) -x means safe mode -s means singe user mode and cpus=1 means osx only uses one single processor (CPU) core. I use these flags in order to get this DVD booted otherwise it crashes on my system.

Are you facing the error while booting the dvd or when you already insalled it? What chipset do you have and what dvd are you using? Also i had to use -v -x -y cpus=1 to get kalyway 10.5.2 dvd booting on my system. Not everyone has to use then just find out which ones you need to use.

It works with almost any intel computer, myne is a COre 2 Duo, so I am not sure if will work with the Pentium M?!?!?...

I just installed mine yesterday and its perfect apart for that the only thing that is not working is the Intel Wifi 4965AGN card, so I am changing it to a mac compatible one soon, but hey the Ethernet works for now!

Well if it is about formatting disk utility would at least show your hard drive just not the partitions. And osx can mount fat32 and ntfs..

You can't cuz you can't run leopard in a virtual machine (tiger only) or you need to download ~pcwiz's vm file (just google pcwiz)

Mac OS X Leopard isn't compatible with vmware... Only native installations. And its not necessary to clean your hd you can also dualboot.

Install iDeneb 10.5.5 and when you try to boot for the first time eject the dvd hold f8 and type -v so you can see where it hangs.
