Train ONLY your starter. This will make the 7th gym a little harder, but you can still use Surf to wtfpwn them.

ANY Pokemon can be shiny. Legendaries are the easiest because they stand in one spot. SAVE in front of them. Start battle. If not shiny, restart the game, dumbass. Repeat until shiny. It will probably take several hours.

And catching them in PokeBalls is pointless, you're only making it harder on yourself as opposed to using Ultra and Timer Balls.

There is a 1 chance out of 8163 that you find shiny pokemon. Legendary shinies aren't harder. Save, talk to legend. If you try 8163 times, you'll find one in them for sure. That takes... tons of tries. Hours. Even maybe days.
