It works great for a bit but then i start stuttering and getting mini lag. I used to have patch 1.0.3.0 but upgraded to 1.0.7.0

how come on all of the patches my game runs fine but on patch 1.0.6.0 and patch 1.0.7.0 some of the colors flicker. For example the green and red graffiti in the broker safehouse is black but when I get closer it turns into the color it's supposed to be. When I get further away it turns black again same with some of the light up signs around LC For example the comrades bar sign on Mohawk Ave.

@naik2222 your gpu isn't good enaugh for max settings + triple buffering is to be used with Vsynch which must (be off in games with lower fps than 70)

This is very inaccurate and in fact the 1.0.4.0 is less lagy than the 1.0.7.0 update. the 1.0.7.0 update it is very sketchy and you will experience random lag spikes to the single digets. a laptop is a fine system and depends on your system specks. I have an Alienware m11x (WOW).... NO!. My laptop is average and I get about 25-30 fps on this game in 1.0.4.0. In 1.0.7.0 I get 30 FPS, but every five - 10 min it will drop to 5-8 fps. Overall, I would downgrade. GTA is poorly scripted and sucks.

@K1ngggg i played both patches it ran smoothly at 1.0.4.0 everything setting maxed out at 1920x1080 with i7 2600k ati 5670 6gb ram but after i updated to 1.0.7.0 it was lagging when i put shadows to anysetting but without shadows it runs smooth with everything else maxed out in 1.0.7.0.... so if u want to max out everything with smooth fps 1.0.4.0 is the best ....

i installed the 1.0.7.0 patch and i got a 10 fps boost. I can now run it on high all and each bar is set to 100. Im getting 40 fps when i used to get 25-35 average on med/high

What really bother me is that my gta4 benchmark tests have low fps, but that's because the game isn't even using more than 50% of my cpu and system memory even after I've taken off restrictions =/

The only reason I would pick 1.0.4.0 is because of the mods. I want to run iCEnhancer 1.25 but it doesn't have all the features. My graphics card does have some trouble running iCEnhancer on 1.0.7.0 already so I'm not sure what I should do. Any advice?

BTW: advice saying I should play without iCEnhancer aren't that helpful!

@ramit1996 Firstly, a laptop it's not a good choice if you want to play a game like GTA IV, secound play the game on low settings and install patch 1.0.4.0, let me know if that helps.

@ramit1996 IF this happens when you're stood still an not moving around, it could be due to the amount of cars that appear, OR, your GPU is becoming too hot.

If the cooling sucks in your laptop, then that's your main problem, try getting a USB cooler, it will at least keep it cooler and help it along a little.
