That looks like the 86x ice cream sandwich,and if so its not finished yet think i will stick to honeycomb as have tried the 86x ics on viewpad ten and still a few bugs on it but what we really need is more games and emulators for tablets.
@Matthijs1994 this week eh ? Where is it then... Archos has never kept deadlines as far as I heard, and now they've proven themselves incapable of delivering on the due date (First week of February ended 8 days ago).
ICS will not be availaible for the gen8 Archos (hardware limitations), but the gen9 tabletes will have an update probably in 2-3 months, or 6 months, but it will be free, of course.
@runbmp Honeycomb was the first tablet optimized OS, all other were scaled up smartphone OS, and now ICS brings that fully hardware accelerated to double the memory bandwidth processors other than Tegra2 and makes it scale perfectly down back to smartphones and also makes the same OS work perfectly on Google TV, Laptops, E Ink e-readers and more. Basically ICS is the OS for the world.
@Charbax Not that i'm advocating that IOS is any better but I believe that its already spread across Apple TV, Ipad Tablets and smartphones.

@runbmp iOS is not an OS for the world, it's an OS for Apple. And still today, there is very little about iOS that has been optimized for tablet use on the iPad. On the other hand, since Honeycomb, every pixel of the OS are re-engineered to be optimized to use on a larger screen with a medium to high pixel density. It may be that on the top layer and using the same background image, it may be hard for many to see the difference between Honeycomb and ICS on a tablet, but under the hood is lots.
@Charbax i agree totally, ios is NOT user friendly!!! my 3 yr old sister can move and work her way all the way around a google device. she cant so on a i-life device its just too complicated.

@soomrojawad actually the new Android tablets compete quite well against the ipads. Many people like them better because they, like me, hate the apple OS. You can't say one is better because they are very different and cater to the tastes of different people. Personally, I hate it. You may like it and hate the regular stuff. Android is not a waste of time and money. If nothing else it is at least competition which will cause apple to continue to try hard instead of becoming lazy.

@tunkunrunk What else do you expect to do on a tablet? Personally the Transformer is one of the better tablets that allow you to type documents and such but other than that, I rather use a tablet for everyday activities that is provided rather than wearing down my laptop or desktop on things a tablet can do with less power. Personally, I hate reading on my laptop as well. I rather read from a tablet.
It's a tablet, you'll find that you are looking for a PC.
p.s. you forgot to mention the many useful apps you can make use of on your android tablet, such as the games, to do lists, notepads, calendars, picture editing, etc...sounds like you simply lack any ideas or creativity. For people like you I always say "Go get an iPad. It'll do exactly the same, but you'll believe it does things Androids can't, which has gotta be worth an extra £400."

It really is nice to browse with with and reading books is also great. I recommend you own one before you talk about wasting money on it. They really are great tools for all sorts of things.

@xlhotlx Yes, with a keyboard dock it can become like a laptop. And using HDMI output and USB or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse it becomes a Desktop. Running a full Chrome browser in Android makes it quite usable. It can in theory also even dual-boot Ubuntu and maybe even Windows 8 later. It is powerful enough.

@vtwinbreed Archos G9 is better than Asus transformer because OMAP4 has much faster memory bandwidth than Tegra2. Memory bandwidth is the most important feature. Archos G9 has similar performance as Transformer Prime, especially the 1.5Ghz Archos G9 Turbo for $30 more. Archos G9 is much cheaper than Transformer Prime.

@SerjTankianlol I have a laptop and thought the same thing.. but I gave in and bought an ipad 2. I've never owned anything apple. The more I use the ipad the more I love it. It really is nice to browse with with and reading books is also great. I recommend you own one before you talk about wasting money on it. They really are great tools for all sorts of things.
As for this tablet. Its no ipad :)

@johnnymerks1121 Archos 80 G9 $269 and Archos 101 G9 $349, I posted the links to buy on Amazon in the description, 1.2Ghz Turbo versions with 16GB for +$30 or 250GB (hdd) storage for +$80 are starting to become available and 1.5Ghz versions will be released in January.

@ziodberg1 actually think wayyyy more. Think about the workers they had to pay to create of the idea. The engeneering, the design, the way it works, how it works, etc. it takes a year

@xlhotlx Yes, with a keyboard dock it can become like a laptop. And using HDMI output and USB or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse it becomes a Desktop. Running a full Chrome browser in Android makes it quite usable. It can in theory also even dual-boot Ubuntu and maybe even Windows 8 later. It is powerful enough.

@Pati3ntSoul Don't touch anything but the ASUS Transformer. It's the best Android Tablet right now, and the Transformer 2 will be coming out soon with Tegra 3

@vtwinbreed Archos G9 is better than Asus transformer because OMAP4 has much faster memory bandwidth than Tegra2. Memory bandwidth is the most important feature. Archos G9 has similar performance as Transformer Prime, especially the 1.5Ghz Archos G9 Turbo for $30 more. Archos G9 is much cheaper than Transformer Prime.
