  • Thank you!

  • you rock man. thanks

  • Dude, that is so freaking cool! Always loved this song. Thanks a bunch!

  • really nice straight forward lesson

  • The best Stones guitar instructor - we can tell you love sharing the best licks out there. Thanks "man".

  • Thanks for the "to the point" lesson, I'm nailing Monkey Man on my new SG now!

  • Is the original in standard tuning or open G? Great video!

  • Thanks....great job explaining, but btw, some of us learning are women!

  • What model Telecaster is that? I feel like you switched out the original pickup.

  • Did keith play this in standard/? Sounds great anyways

  • good job!!!!!!

  • I am a Monkey Man fan, one of if not the greatest song ever, I used to put my CD on loop and listen to the song when I fell alseep and would wake up to it many times, so I think you got it right on if not perfect. Great job dude, I played drums for years and could never get one of our gutiarist to try it, of course this was pre-You Tube. Once again thank you for an excellent job!

  • Great job man.

  • i have seen people on you tube play the monkey man guitar but even though they seem to got the right notes, nobody can play it like keith. i love the way keith plays it!!!

  • The way Keith's amp breaks up & spits those bright harmonics - w Charlie's backbeat accenting.

A Rocker if there ever was one. Thanks for this post

  • i've been looking at keith do it for a couple of hours and i can't seem to make it sound like him altough i think i am very close. i'm not sure if the d string stays on the 7th or 6th fret. what do you think?

  • Fuck yeah!

  • that was the best guitar lesson I've seen on youtube , no unnecessary waffle or life stories, just a great transcription! Thanks a lot mate.

  • @jamesjonesrocket exactly. spot on.

  • yeeeeeeah!

  • great video...lots of folks make those chords and licks way more complicated than they are..Keith's magic is in timing and execution, not excessive finger positioning,,,best lesson on this song I've seen

  • Dude, you nailed it!

  • Thank you! It sound spot on. One of my favorite Stones. I really love the intro with the piano. This is one of those Stone song that really shows what is special about Keith.

  • very nice man sounds good

  • Nice demo...Thanks! What position is the pick up on and what amp are you using? It sounds spot on!

  • But you have to play it with a capo to get the hammer-ons on the D and A chord shapes. Listen to the version on Let it Bleed. Plenty of hammers-ons on those chords.

  • Thanks so much. Excellent job. I've been wanting to learn that for a long time.

  • Is 5 stars as high as it goes?

  • sounds spot on... God I wished I had not hocked my tele deluxe

  • Your rolling stones lessons are spot on! I thought I had 'em down but you've turned me on to some sorely missing licks!

  • very good!!!!!!!!!!one can make it also with plektrum?

  • grrrrrrrrrrrreat job!!! Wow!!

  • this sounds right. some youtube guys tried this in open G, and that just didn't cut it. although C# is the root chord,it goes to B and d# as well. good post.

  • nice. this is one of my favorite rolling stones songs

  • Awesome, bro.

  • do you give lessons? I wan to learn from you

  • thanks been trying to learn this one for a long time Standard tuning ah

  • Great- thanks- I found the video is much easier to see in full screen!

  • very nice take!i knew something was missing from that riff (the way I played it!)

  • Interesting study man, - no Open G required ?

  • I was always close playing this but haven't gotten it right for FORTY YEARS!!! Thanks a lot for the lesson.

  • your lesson is very good!

    you play very well!!!

  • Wow. That was easy. I'd been trying to get this based on tabs from the internet. This short little video was excellent. Thanx

  • Thanks for this, I was told I have a month to learn this song and you saved me hours of listening to the song on repeat lol

  • nice song

  • Albert Collins telecaster?

  • Thanks, This is great!

  • Thanx

  • You're the man! If Keith should go away maybe you and Mick can . . .????

  • How about you go away ? Are you really a stones fan or just another fucking Idiot.

  • Whoa! That's kind of rude man. I was simply saying that you taught me to play a tune that I have loved for years. Iwas thinking that maybe you would be an ideal Stones guitarist. Now I guess I won't give praise to you or anyone else on youTube no matter how good I think they're covers/lessons/licks are. Thanks a lot and have a good one, man.

  • Howz 'bout you brush your teeth you fucking limey bitch? You don't know me you Cockney fuck!!!!

  • Im sorry, I didnt see the IF in your original comment. No, I dont know you and do Cockneys really come from Cambridge ? (man)

  • In that case I apologize. Now can't we just be friends in Music and enjoy YouTube?

  • This is probably one of the most usable instructional videos I have ever seen - period.

Most videos go too fast or have camera angles that do not allow you to see what's going on. You not only did a terrific job with one camera, you also imparted a nice earthy quality in your teaching style. Definitely saved to my favorites!

  • thank you. couldn't find a tab anywhere on the internet.

  • Very nice, thanks alot. Did your Tele come with that humbucker, or is that a custom job. I would love to know because I hate the neck pickup on the Tele's.

  • Thank you sir, I always wondered how this went.

  • Nice job. I've been playing it differently for a long time. Your way adds some spice to the way I will cover this song. Check out our band's version if you like. We got 3 guitars on it.... a nice luxury.

  • Thank you.

    albert. barcelona- Spain

  • Thanks Man! Great job very CLEAR.

mr. wentberg are you commenting on the right instructor?

Or are you nodding off during it to be like Keith?

  • mr. wentberg give the instructor a break!

  • I never really got one of the parts of the licks, "the key" note on the ninth fret. Thanks to this video I got it.

  • so look at the tabs and pay the fuck attention, it helped me

  • Great explanation.... much easier with our 3 guitar players

  • it works..very nice thanks a lot

  • very good....simple and clear...good teacher
