I love this version so much. While the rock version is good, it sounds processed. In this version, you can feel Thom's voice, how it changes over the song. Listen closely at the end of the song. You can hear how pained it is, how he's almost wailing the words, just trying to express the emotion of the song.

His voice isn't some smooth, souped up, auto tuned sound from some slick suit-wearing playboys with guitars. He's not afraid to wail like those guys are.

That's real music.
