  • awesome, i was just thinking i need to replace my bent up arm, instead of trying to make it stay working...

  • this guy saved many people all around the world who may not have a Tech support for technics on his country, and more then this it help understand something that many ones don't understand !!! so please guys say thanks or shout the 6-21-3-11 up !!!

  • "ELLASKILLS" Thanks for the video. I just finished changing a tone arm. everything about the vid was comp;lete. lighting, instructions and the tips. Great!

    mets one

  • Can anyone help me....My cartridges are stuck on my tonearm. I think I can rectify this by unscrewing the 2 small screws on the end of the arm. Am I right?

  • @ellaskins Hey man. Thanks for the video!!! I have a problem with my tone arm on BOTH tables. One arm just seems bent, warranting an arm replacement, but the other simply wont track the vinyl all the way to the end of the record. When I play a record, about half way through, the needle begins to skip. This is with EVERY record. Is it the arm or the arm assembly. Would like to know before I place my order for parts. THANKS!

  • 1:55

and you'll have about 650.000 screws ... not that many, but...

    LMFAO :D

  • I am not sure if you just know the basics or really know the tech stuff on them. I have seen your tutorials and Misc stuff. and u seem like the go-to guy of DJing. Hopefully you have heard of this and if not maybe imagine/picture what Im talking about. If you need anymore info or have the answer already that would rock. Of all the things you do the only thing I would say ehhhh to is that on your site you allow traktor users to enter into the competitions. Basically it becomes laptop vs laptop

  • Wassup Mista Skins..Here we go - I have been using my 1200 with no issues whatsoever. Now this unit is used and just like in your video some screws are missing so I can tell it was self serviced. Out of nowhere a horrible scratchy noise (thru Serato) After self diagnosing I came up with a solution. I placed a "jumper cable" if u will from the ground screw under plate (bout 3:20 in ur video) to the thin green wire/rca board. Basically grounding out the little green wire..... How did this happen?

  • damn, I've been looking for videos, manuals, written tutorials on how to do this for years. THANK YOU

  • great walk through, but the screw to my tone that secures it, won't come out. guys at technis fastened it to tight. blows.....

  • he didint say BANG DOWN onn the center, he said TAP on it!!!!!!

  • thanks mate. just used this to take off a straight tone arm i put on ten years ago, that was great for scratch the first part of the record without skipping but would carv up the last 2 thirds of the record. back to s-arm heaven now

  • I saved alot of money, Thank you Ellaskins

    You Legend!

  • you should nt bang down on the centre it bends the plate underneth the centre spindle wich in time effects the turntables toque

  • man how do you always end up getting old 1200s...i gotta start investing and buying another pair : )

  • Some of you people are ungrateful tits. This guy is showing you how to save money and fix it yourself and you have the balls to put up such mindless comments about his talking too much, hat color, and everything else that has little to do with the application.

If you cant be constructive then keep it to yourself.

If that does not make sense.... jump off a bridge.

  • I don't get it. My friend's car was crashed by the valet and he had it fixed. But if my blender, hair dryer, TV or truntable broke, i'd just get a new blender, hair dryer, tv or turntable. Is this a joke ?

  • @maptlbh What do you want a medal? most people cant afford £400 when a simple repair will suffice.

  • @maptlbh u cunt these decks cost a bomb

  • @liambrown0 sorre. bad econome. i needed 2 fix a compooter when keboard was broken :( ,,,,i liked throwing them to trash and get new

  • @maptlbh wot the fuck r u on about u dick

  • @maptlbh Oh sorrE, i did no see limbrown was a poor. sorrE, poor. give me address and i ship mone for liambrown.

  • @liambrown0 I hope u r not always a poor and figure out how to vent your negative frustration w/o dumping on others. Best of luck, mate.

  • @maptlbh i think your the one dumping negitive frustration on this nice guys page. and your not my mate

  • @liambrown0 YOu have every right, to think WRONG. I made an ignorant comment- shame on me...mistake...people make 'em all the time. We're all ignorant of allot of stuff. FACT is, no one knows everything, ...and that's just part of being human. Heck, that's why, if u ask him, I'm sure he'll tell u, that's why he made the vid. I would have given u a TT1200. I just don't think i want to anymore. Best of luck, nonMate.

  • @maptlbh whats a tt1200?? and why would i want one of them?? i will gladly take a technics sl1200 or sl1210. not being funny with you have you made a spelling error or something???

  • @liambrown0 Your attempts to be funny, are, well- fruitless, truth be known. You can't win, for, you see, i have the will of the warrior. You loose. Want to play again? You were just defeated twice. Game over. Have a nice troll....

  • @maptlbh what are you talking about you weirdo. None of that makes sense

  • @maptlbh So u want to play again- loose again. That was easy. Funny how u come back like a broken-record asking the same questions. LoL....u loose again. No match, indeed. NEXT!!!! Happy Trolling ;)

  • That doesnt make any sence if you need to put some kind of cable on the wires?

Whats the point if your puting in a new arm anyways?

  • this is sooo complicated. my tone arm has busted up. can you come to my house and do it for me :LL x

  • Youtube downloads are painfully slow. --Too much traffic. I hit the download button and leave it 10 or 15 minutes. --Watch the download. It's the only way !

  • Your´s introductions are very looooooooooooooooongs, you talk toooooooo much !!!

  • hi does any1 know how to fix the tone arm lever (the bit that lifts the tone arm up n down) also if the anti skate does not work is it repairable? cheers

  • thanx for the vid. i wish i would have seev it last night. i ended up with spre screws and a busted hight adjuster lock. i still have to replace the arm, but the hight lock is not a big deal. thanx for all your vids! very helpful

  • Thanks for the tutorial. I replaced my tonearm tonight, and this was a great help.

  • the actual tone arm is busted on mine...including the wires from the "front" of the tone arm...the ones to be..de-soldered....I am hoping the tone arm coming in the mail has those thin cables included...

  • @veganstarwar

same thing here, bought mi mk2 2nd hand and when it arrived the tonearm was screwed...

bought an new 2nd hand one, hopefully everything goes well...

    good luck

  • oh it worked GREAT! it was so much easier then i thought it would be..amounted to about 70$ for everything..thanks be to ella

    praise ELLA! haha

  • hey can somebody help me, I have an old jv turntable with the weight and ani skate and everything, but recently i dont know why but when the weight is off the arm it sits perfect but when i put the weight on the arm it just flies up no matter what i do or what weight is on it

  • I wonder if you could make the same video for the Vestax PDX 2000 MK2 ? I have a huge problem here. When everything is connected and set up, i have this "hum" sound like if the ground is not connected, but it is. Ass soon as i connect the decks to the mixer, even without the record playing, the sound is there. When i take needles of, it gets louder and my mixer peaks. Some said it´s a tonearm problem, and i need to change it, but i don´t know how ?

  • Are you sure it's not the phono connectors into your mixer or the mixer itself?

  • @mixamosis yes, i am shure, cos i have tryed with 5 different mixers and it´s the same thing, so it can not be same thing an all of them =). It is the decks but i don´t know why =)

  • awesome mate!

  • My tone arm still looks to high but the adjustment is zero'd out. What could be wrong?

  • thx a lot man :D

  • very very helpfull

    thanx

  • Fascinating video! I had a turntable like that before I got my SL-LP92 linear tracking unit (I have a vid: The Technics Technique on clydesight channel) I really liked my older turntable and it is great that you know so much about fixing these! I love your presentation style and this was a very informative video. Thank you very much!

  • what is the color order of the tiny wires for after the replacement of the tonearm? when I threaded the tiny through, I dont know where each color is supposed to be soldered to.

  • Brilliant. Just picked one up with... you guessed it, a busted arm.

  • would love to get some tips on quick ways of fixing the tonearm/cartridge connection for those clubs that have you play on junker 1200's which have a bad contact issue when you attach the cartridge.

Maybe you have a video on this already??

    Any tips are appreciated!

  • what is the earth cable at the end of this video? and why am i getting a hum like there's a ground not hooked?

let me know because i have the turntable apart appreciate it

  • I can't think you enough - I'm very grateful that you posted this video.

  • dude, this video shows NOTHING on how to ACTUALLY FIX YOUR TONEARM. It's just a basic walk through as to what is involved. Unfortunately, although I like many of Tutor's videos, this is one I do not like, because it doesn't really give the viewer much. I think you should rename this "A WALK THROUGH ON REPLACING YOUR TONEARM." In addition, part II shows you NOTHING AT ALL about replacing the tonearm either - why is there a part 2? Sorry for the neg comment.

  • Hello. Can any one help me with this: There are any diferrence between the 1200 MKII tone arm and the 1210? Can i put one of the 1200 to the 1210?

  • Wayzatta: there is no difference between the 1200 and 1210 tonearm other than color. You still get the same chromed out tube, but the rear section of the tonearm (the pivoting area) is either charcoal gray (1210) or silver (1200). If you don't mind the color difference, go for it! I think black tonearms on silver 1200s looks hot and vice-versa.
