It kinda looks like, if you do use the experimental effects in the final part, that the animation will be fantasy genre. The wolves talk, so I guess that can make it fantasy too, but the whole thing just looks really cool. :)

@JuLsProduction For some definition or "real". It's a real film and on its way to slow but steady completion, yep. It's not funded by any of the big names, though (which is what people often mean when they ask if something is a real movie, so I ask your pardon if that's not what you meant :) ).

so are you making a movie, or a series with episodes? cause this is so good and im guessing it wont be complatley done until 2 years from now. 'every good animator (like yourself) takes their time on their work to get the best result out of it' which is why im guessing a few years. you guys are doing great progress and i lok foward to seeing your work with a big company like disney, dreamwoks, or universal studios or something! great job you guys!

@x979023x It varies -- usually I just go to Staples and get the cheapest crate they've got.  I think what I've got now is store brand.

@x979023x Might surprise you to know that I (as animator for this shot) don't use anything more complicated than cheap computer paper and a clipboard.

The computer paper needs to be translucent enough (and usually the cheaper brands are more see-through) to be able to trace if you need to, but if you learn to "flip" you won't need to do so.

@Wolfie9149 I've used tracing paper before and it works fine. The only trouble I have with tracing paper is that it's downright expensive compared to computer paper.

@Wolfie9149 Oops, forgot to answer the second question... this particular shot's a little sneaky since the shadows were actually done on separate sheets of paper while Janus is the same drawing throughout so it just LOOKS flawless. Trust me, I'm not really THAT good at tracing ;) You don't have to be, though, you just have to be close. A lot of the fine-tuning can be done at the ink stage, and if the difference is small enough the eye doesn't notice it anyway.

@k9kraZ Heheh, yeah, it's a little weird to start with, but those extra loops were to get an idea of where the main area of sparkles would be when the time came. Does rather look like a flying fried egg, though ;)
