@k0smon It's not realistic to assume anything. What does the bible say? Luke 6 destroys the numbers argument. Matt 7:11 teaches that men are evil. In effect what I said was that the Bible is open to be understood by those who really want to understand it. If you read it with the wrong intention in mind, believe me, it will seem very contradictory as you said. I've been having a discussion with a person who thinks that the koran and the bible are very similar and that all religions teach the same things and they didn't know Christ was the only way!!. @k0smon It's not realistic to assume anything. What does the bible say? Luke 6 destroys the numbers argument. Matt 7:11 teaches that men are evil. Romans 3:10-20 makes it clear that men are spiritually blind and riddled with sin. Psalm 51:5 teaches this condition is from conception. Spiritual people do not worship the world yet that is the foundation of Joel's message which is why it is so popular among the biblically ignorant and spiritually deceived (Every knee will worship Jesus Phil 2:10 ).

You can't have it both ways by rejecting the bible when it calls men sinners and embracing it when misquoting the promise of blessing. If the bible was in error why did Jesus quote it as authoritative? Joel's followers are worshipers of the gifts, not the Giver. What's important is that we preach the gospel, strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ by teaching them how to be bond slaves to Christ. Why? because God is overjoyed when he is glorified and God's joy is greatest in redemption. A life designated to saving souls for Christ should be the focus of EVERY single Pastor and every disciple. He wants your complete obedience and it is not easy to deny yourself which must be done to enter the narrow gate of heaven. The problem with Mr. Osteen is that he preaches only a kind and loving Jesus but will not preach on Jesus as a punishing God also. Witholding God's word is satanic. Of course, faithful slaves are rewarded in heaven eternally.

God has blessed him with all that money, so be happy for the guy. I bet you never preached the word of God to anyone...he does it for millions of people! He deserves it and much more! @antnotforwar He actually does not take a salary from the church at all---he makes his own money off his books and stuff that motivates people, no one tells you to buy it----stop being jealous of others success!
It says in the bible "all wealth" comes from God----not just some wealth-----all wealth----so if he is wealthy---God is approving, just not your God which is a poverty God which is not biblical at all!

@antnotforwar first of all ---no one tells the people in poverty to give to him, they have a mind of their own and they feel he benefits them or they wouldn't give. People don't give to things that don't benefit them in one way or another. All I am saying is spread---LOVE not HATE. Everyone has their own style they prefer in Ministry. He has no reason to make people give, like I said---he does not draw a salary from the church.

Her is another preacher who make statements that do not have any logical reasoning and are based on hypothesis. He always make references about his wife , Veronica which is ridiculous and overexaggeration, just lie a hen-pecked husband.

I followed Jesus back in the day, & let me tell you he was a fine public speaker, inspiring us all to change our corrupt lives for the better.
I wasn’t very happy with how he treated women though- he led them on to think there was a love thing, then ignored them after just one night together. I was kinda glad when he was crucified- all the bad stuff & scandal would have come out, tarnishing his image.
Mind you, THESE guys are doing a pretty good job of dragging his name through the mud…

@onstageagain God is not a God of Poverty, that is not the mindset of God. We are actually of Royalty lineage so we are not poor in any way. He said to "give to the Poor", how are you going to do that ---if YOU are poor!! He didn't have warnings against being rich, many were blessed with riches, he had warnings against the LOVE of money, what is the difference? The difference is ----if you lost it all would you STILL love God?

Osteen on O'Reilly was asked if he believed if Jesus was the way, the truth & the life, the only way to God. Osteen ignored the ?-? , saying he doesn't get into that. Indicative of his broad positive approach that attracts the masses. A pastor is called to feed the flock the whole counsel of God- from Genesis to Revelation. People interpret his soft-spoken manner as exhibiting a Christ-like spirit & ignore the non-Biblical content traded in for a motivational spiritual pep talk !

Thank you for not preaching on sin,judgment,hell,Gods wrath,Gods holiness,the Law of God or repentance. It's good to see you keep up with the self help, feel good message so those church folks won't feel convicted. Then they'll think it's all about them and not about you know who. Keep up the good work.

Whats extravagant? I haven't figured that out yet, but when you look up the ladder U focus on what U don't have. Look down the ladder, see how much weve been blessed . Jesus spoke of obligation to poor. He said to feed the hungry. I doubt I'll ever have wealth compared to Osten, but I'm wealthy compared to the vast majority of the world's population. We all are.

@joeforHistruth When the church progresses from gifts being given $100, a week to $1,000 doesn't give privilege to Jet Planes, multiple mansion like homes. The bible says the body has 1 head Jesus,the rest of the body has different functions,all necessary.
It teaches equality in the church,giving Some with certain GIFTS to think themselves more important than others. Leading them to believe they should live Above Others. If U have no knowledge of the Book, how can you follow or teach it?
