I'm only 5 months older than the actress who plays Hit Girl, so when I saw this movie it made me feel I've done nothing in my life... Anyway I loved this movie! I saw it on Nexflix a few nights ago and thought from the ads i saw last year that it looked like a stupid movie, and I was wrong.

And yes my favorite characters were Big Daddy and Hit Girl because Kick Ass, in the whole movie, was just a wannabe. Big Daddy is the shit!

Everyone says hit girl was the star of the movie but for me it was always Kickass. The scene where he fights off that gang from killing that guy was truly moving and im surprised that scene didnt move otehrs in the same way, i mean i assume it didnt since everyone prefers hit girl. Dont get me wrong, i loved hit girl but i for me the film could have still been made without her presence....it wouldnt hav ebeen as good, but it would have been possible, but not without kickass himself

@AllWalksofLife Ummmm, she got her revenge. Everyone who crossed her is dead. And Kick-Ass will always be about Kick-Ass, the fact that there's someone more badass than him doesn't mean he's not the main character. The comic still focuses on Kick-Ass, so the movie sequel probably will too. Spin-off about a supporting character is not a sequel.

@alejokattana You listed the reasons any sane person should dislike it. When Super did what it did, it was supposed to make you feel bad for glorifying violence. When the Kick-Ass comic it was being exceptionally evil for no reason. The movie IS better because it fixes these faults and lets you enjoy a great ending and the beginning to a new trilogy that is worth your time.

I liked this movie because going into it I had an impression that it was going to be another kids becomes super heroes type cheezy flick then it became kids murder villains in brutally awesome ways type flick. Kick-ass got his ass handed to him a couple of times. Big daddy got what was coming to him (he asked for it). Kick-ass didn't want to be a superhero anymore... even the bad guys had to put an example of what would happen if a dumbfuck wanted to be a super hero. But i really liked it.

The one thing i didn't like about this movie is how everyone is supposed to be regular humans who are trying to be superheroes by using whatever advantages they have. Then they throw in an 11year old mercenary who was trained by a cop. And she's supposed to blend into the "regular human" people? She didn't. She stood out, which was good for some people, but for me, it just took away from the nature of the movie.

Hit Girl did all the cool kung fu stuff but all her hardness and bravado was totally unbelievable. Little is more unbelievable than a 12 year old actress strutting around like even though her parents are dead and killers are after her she's still just a badass who can't be touched (Dakota Fanning!). That's not how a young girl would feel or act I don't care how well she can fight. Her dad burns to death and dies right in front of her and she doesn't even cry? YEAH RIGHT!!

There is a total lack of structure. The film begins with an interesting premise but then becomes bogged down with scenes of random silliness that stray too far away from the story that the filmmakers are trying to tell (ex. when Kick-Ass and Red Mist start grooving to music while driving).

@Silverwire100 I think scenes like that helped the movie by giving it a grounded, realistic sense. Like in your example, that scene was just reminding you that these "super heroes" are still just kids, even that far into the movie. It kept the characters consistent. I don't think structure was lacking at all, I just think there was a lot of variety in it. I thought it definitely kept the movie interesting, instead of more mainstream or expected, which is what I got from the original trailer.
