  • they r a scam

  • they are a franchise independently owned and want your cash. yes the salesman in the video says that they dont guarantee work, but they make you believe that they will when in reality all they teach you is how to walk and smile. real agents and agencies will teach you that for free.

  • My aunt friend had a boy that went to kohls commercials and they payed him and she also had a girl and she took that girl to jrp and they asked her for 3000 to be on a commercial and she said no cuz there suppose to pay you

  • Its a spam i go there and they want me to pay 4000 dollars to do a commercial i was like u have to pay us not have us to pay you soo jrp sucks dont ever go there

  • I used to work there. Guess what- they are NOT very selective about who they accept, they accept anyone and everyone who is willing and able to pay the tuition fees! The "audition" is just to make it seem like it's competitive. However, it's a good experience for most kids and if you're OK with the idea that they will take your kid whether he or she has talent or not, then go for it. But don't pretend to yourself that your child has been "chosen"!

  • hey that girl at :57 is from The haunting of Sunshine girl

  • I did this it was interesting, i was 8 and they wanted to teach me to walk in heels.

I was 8. 2000 to learn to walk in heels? now im fifteen and learned on my own. it's BS

  • Of course they don't take 10%, they take as much as they can! An agency that represents singers is called a RECORD COMPANY! There is no such thing as an agency that represents dancers. And real agents have state-issued licenses & certificates, that they HAVE to show u, state law! Agents get paid AFTER u get paid!! ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS!!!

    Guard ur wallets!!!

  • they accept everyone then rip them off

  • What pisses me off is that they purposefully lead you to believe that they are a talent agency when they are not. You get told if they think you're good enough to spend thousands of dollars of your money to buy their acting classes! :(

  • I Go to JRP in St.Louis

  • @TheHassen9 how is it? I'm auditioning next week! is it really expensive? I've heard really bad things about JRP, can u please give me ur opinion? :)

  • @blankita 1525 well it matters which pakege you choose to get if you want the least expensive one choose lvl 1 but if you want to have a carrer go with lvl 3 or 4. i went with lvl 3.

  • @blankita1525 if you want the least expensive packege go with lvl 1. or if you want the lvl 3or4 packege but there too high price i got a scollership which made the price of the lvl 3 packege from 7500 to just 3000.

  • @blankita1525

It's pretty expensive.. but I auditioned 2 years ago so I'm not sure if they changed anything $:

  • @blankita1525 DO NOT DO IT!!! I have been through the classes, did ipop and went along with them for as long as they would let me. I was in my teens when I did it and they just prey on young naive children who will believe anything. Don't do it. I understand a lot more now about show business but at that time I didn't. But I'm telling you, from experience, don't do it. Save yourself about $10,000. And this applies to every JRP everywhere. Good luck!

  • This isn't a scam!!! my brother and sister both just started here and they said it's a lot of fun and it's worth the money!

  • @TheFutureCutie how much was the classes and where are they?

  • I just had my audition for this place and they wanted over 2 thousand dollars for acting classes on make up, how to dress, walk in heels... I was soo excited to receive a call back.. they wanted me to sign some contract but ii didnt do it... I wasnt sure to get a lawyer to look at it or not... My friend has done the program paid all the money and all she learned was to read a script like nobody knows how to read! ... I am not using JRP as a talent agency !!

  • @shadaysexylady123 same thing happened to me

  • all my life ive wanted to be an actress ya know, ive been in the newspaper and i just wanna be an actress i love tv and moviesm its just my life:)

  • its not a scam lik i said. but u just have to be smart about it. they do try to make money of course, who doesnt. just know what is good for u to do & what isnt. for example they have iPOP which is ALOT of money; some say its not worth it, but some say it is cause they get about 20 callbacks from it. so stop saying its a scam to those of u who don't know anything about it

  • @ALLABOUTJBIEBERxoxo they also have auditions & models in training their walk for scottsdale fashion week. IT IS NOT A SCAM. and u learn alot; the teachers their have experiences cause they are in that industry. you meet new friends & its a lot of fun & Brenda Song (an actress) attended there; so did the girl who is lava girl in the movie sharkboy & lava girl

  • I WENT TO JRP IT WAS SO FUN!

  • @CarricoCuteCotton i went for my audition in chicago last week, they want me to go, but my dad says yes and my mom says mayb

    ladiethriller

  • I am apart of JRP and I can tell you it's not a scam

  • is this only for kids or for men over 25 too?

  • i went to JRP

  • i made it there but it cost too much for my family to afford .... its sucks! everyday i look back wishing i couldve gone!

  • Jeff Jones International Director of John Robert Powers and Director of Milwaukee WI

  • i payed 4000 dollars idk if its worth it yet but however i still have got an agent and i am waiting for a call back from another agent

  • IM GOING TO ONE TODAY!

  • i go to that school

  • Im going to JRP TODAY IM A GRADUATE!I WAS IN A COUPLE OF COMERCIALS AND ADDS(CATALOGS)

  • People- They do not take 10% because they are NOT AN AGENCY. No agents at all. They are simply classes. And if people have the money for them, then why not do them. I hear GREAT things about JRP. I just payed for Acting&Modeling classes today and start in Sept. I will make a video letting everyone know the truth, I do not lie about acting and such!!

Yes they do try to sell the classes big time. Many people though have gone far because of the classes though.

    Love, Courtney.

  • @courtneymichelle8 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Yeah okay. It's a scam.

  • @courtneymichelle8 i auditioned today and it went well

  • I went and its not a scam they have agents come evry weekend for you to audition

  • Well the other day, i got a call that said there was an audition near me and today i went to it

about 240 kids were there and there were 3 differnt sessions i guess

im 16 and a guy and i got chose

and i had to pay yea.. but i start in 7 days and it lasts a year and then i get a photoshoot done

i dont get how people call it a scam

  • THANK YOU.

I went in Dallas. They are very nice.

    I payed a hefty price of 3,000.

    It is worth it though.

    I start Sept. 12.

    I fully trust JRP.

    Thanks for not downing them.

  • yea fasho

i had my first class and it was very good

only about 20 kids and my teacher has been in commercials and movies like armageddon. it seems fineee

  • hey.. i also got a call and i am going to auditions on sunday, how do they go, what will i do, will i audition in front of my parents cause i cant act in front of them, they are distracting and im embarrassed lol, im fine in front of everyone else. anything to prepare for???

  • well the one i went to u sit down and listen to some of the jrp success people like we had this Natasha girl who is like one of russias/europes top models or something and showed us all these pics of her and then all the people line up

they say there name on a microphone

then we do runway. u do ur opening pose..walk..get to the end.. pose..turn..come back..turn around and do your closing pose. dont forget that

    and thats just about it

    i.

  • well on the auditions, they ask you questions about you usually. you need to bring 2 photos of yourself and you have to have a script ;; a commercial written down

do you have a commercial script?

if you don't i can give you one!

oh and btw, your parents don't get yo see u audition.

  • i dont have anything other then the photos cause thats all i was told to bring, they said a script would be provided by them

  • I know, but then if you don't memorize it, you won't be as good and they won';t want you there

  • we got approached in the mall and while we were on vacation they actually called us. i am currently waiting for a call back? should I allow my son to take this opportunity? or is it really just a money grab?

  • I go to John Robert Powers, and you should definately let your son join.

It's so amazing, and I don't know where you live, but where I go there are amazing teachers. It's a great experience. And if he's shy, it will really boost his confidence, and he will become so much more outgoing.

    :]

    -Michaela Riley

    my youtube is MichiRiley

I'm using my cousins at the moment.

  • im trying to get in but i dont know if there going to take me!!!!!!

  • its not true dont listen to these people they probably didnt get a called back and are upset and spreading rumors

  • you must have went to the wrong place cause I went through my classes and audition there and it only costs 500 soooo you can just calm down

  • is John Robert Powers really true? I mean, someone JUST called me and asked me to stop by tomorrow...I looked it up and I think they were involved in a scam or something.

  • i got a call too, they're very precise about who they choose

  • yeah its real i am signed with them I actually got an audition tomorrow

  • Oh such cursing and ranting over something you know nothing about. Kelly you sit there pointing fingers. I bet you get info from other people & act like you came up with it. Why is it that Major Agents go to JRP. I have met them in Person. They would much rather work with someone who knows how to interview, dress and not curse every 5 words. If you went to JRP you would know it makes you sound trashy and really dumb. I will be famous and happy and Pizzaup & KellieKatastrophie will be on welfare

  • Pop you say I am dumb but you are ignorant. You just couldn't afford or were not picked. I guess you have nothing good in your life so you put others down. Again I love JRP and think they are a great school

  • JRP is awesome and I love the classes. It seems like people put it down and they haven't had the JRP experience. I love the classes and the teachers. I have seen 4 Agents and have one that wants me to sign with them. Don't be a hater because you can't afford or never made the callback list. Some of you didn't even go to an audition and are copying information you saw someone else write.

    I LOVE JRP!!!!!!

  • i didnt quite understand your reply? so it is worth it???

  • im auditoning 2marrow for jrp in chiago? u have to pay??wat?? and is it worth it? idk im still gonna give it a try though1

  • does anyone know how much it is on long island?

cuase i have an audition sunday

    and im really confused some ppl say its worht it and some ppl say its not..butt im gonna try it outt (;

    this is my dreamm

  • not everyone is guarenteeed to get acting jobs from there...maybe you didnt have what it takes

  • how about jrp in new york anyone ever gone their i'm about to sign in when i come back from my vacation is it really worth it or not give me a scale of 1-10

  • NO it's not

  • i dont know if the people who are saying its a scam have actualy been there or just read or heard it. iv been taking their classes in seattle and they are worth the money. there are auditions every month and the classes realy help.

  • also attach a headshot and resume and if u cant afford a proffesional headshot just take a photo in your back yard or somewhere with a good scenery but not with people the agents want to see your child's face not others, and if u need a resume just use microsoft office word like i do if u need any more help just send me a messg

    hope this helped

    :D

  • so are you asking if its worth the charge?

well... if thats the question then yes i take JRP in tampa, florida and that is the only place where the best producers and casting directors go to get auditions from JRP students(like me) but i dont l dont know anything over there... just google up some agencys and e-mail them asking for an appointment audition(so memorize a commercial or monolouge*but if younger... its best to stick with a short commercial*)

  • theyre not, well idk about then in vancover or seattle or other places but i attend to JRP in tampa and i have 2 agents and i am reciving good classes there and my father that it was a scam until he checked online and stuff and theyre reall picky about who chose in JRP

  • im in john robert powers, i take weekly classes and its a lot of fun. im not sure how much it costs tho

  • i got accepted to JRP in Seattle.

    the auditions are very reasonable

i got accepted but i couldn't pay the 7000 dollars

    =.=;

  • JRP is NOT a scam.

I already finished my classes, and I got accepted for my acting to go to iPOP in Las Vegas.

Just wait till you see some of these kids on the big screen one day. Just wait.

  • Hi I amblonde, did you have to pay for the airline to Las Vega?

  • no we had to drive there ourselves

  • u can drive if u want to save money but the whole group flys but iam flying alone with my dad and another family who is going

  • Yesssss u do.

  • 5 `

  • WOW my dad works for jrp and i am in it.

  • cant a kid like acting without going into showbuisnes

  • Im 19 and I attend the Seattle school.

I did a lot of research before signing with them, which I recommend doing before auditioning for any place so you're positive you're not wasting your time, effort and money.

Two weeks after being signed with them, I auditioned for the International Presentation of Performers and was accepted.

  • cool, you must be good.

I want to go to JRP, there are alot in LA, so yeah I'll probably go. How much is it exactly, Im willing to pay thousands cause it seems fun.

  • How much is it?

  • i go to JRP Hollywood

  • is it rrly worth it paying that much money?

i wanna noe cuz i wanna go audition for them

  • it is worth it, i have 2 agents and im already auditioning for short films and commercial. trust me the pay is high but worth it

  • Its not a agency its a school

  • oh wait yea I meant to say school.

  • ive been on hannah montana, icarly, and unfabulous

  • SO UR FAMOUS?

  • i went to the one in minneapolis minnesota

  • same here and got in! how bout you?

  • My son went to one is St Louis. We liked it, and even though we couldn't really afford it we did pay 1500 for 10 classes and 350 for a photo shoot. I do think it was worth it and my son would like to go again. He never did get to do any modeling or acting for pay but you are supposed to go or sign up for audtions and we live 4 hours away from St. Louis so it was kinda hard to go back and forth.

  • this isn't an agency. It's a school.

  • i went to john robert powers and i lovvvved it! it really is a great school. But i wish it was more than just once a week:( that just shows how much I loved going there.

  • DERREK BEAREN

  • These people do not bull shit, they pick the best kids and work with themin short period of time. they are expensive but it is an honest good place to start if yu can get into this school. They reject 80 percent of applicants. U have ot show them yo ureally want this school and you are willing and ambitious

  • No one takes yoru hands and tell you whre to go or what to do but these people show you the right people for you to go to, they have real names of agents and people in the business, a lot of people expect them to take them to the fame and fortune and that is not how things work in this business!!!

  • I sent my son there, we got the list of agents and bang he had an agent then he got audtiions and he got few small parts with his agent. This school worth eveyr pennies. I have fallen with really bad fake schools na dthis is not one of them. They give you teh real names of people adn they worked well with my son. he has developed a great self esteem too.I am very happy with this school!

  • jrp is not a scam i go there and ive been in 6 movies and 2 tv shows

  • Then whatws your name?

  • haha dats funny so wats ur name den let's look u up

  • I used to audition in San Rafael, California.

  • I GOT IN!

  • really?!?! when did u audition??? where??? cuz we might've auditioned at the same state!!! ^_^

  • OMG i just auditioned for that!!!! and i got in...although my mom had to pay like thousands of money for training but its all worth it!!!!!!

  • Awe, i got in that <3

  • i am signed with them :) i love it.not only does it help u to further ur dream career in modeling or acting it helps with self eestem and confidence

  • I REALLY REALLY want to know if this is a scam?

  • I go to John Robert Powers in Calgary and I love it. naruzero, anything you need to know about them? I can tell you if you would like.

  • I want to know more about them.

    Like what to they teach?

    Is the money worth paying?

  • I auditioned for a John Robert Powers commercial, but my brother made it, and he's only 4! :(

  • really my 1st casting was for DIrect Talent and i got a Honor Mention

  • great.. i will pass this to my college friends...

  • Nowadays, kids are getting very lucky.. with dedicated lecturer to teach them how to act!

  • YES! I show one of the kid in the TV show!

  • anyone experience with them?

  • these kids in the video look great.. I will consider to bring my son there

  • thanks for sharing it!

  • I heard a lot about them, few of my friends are with them now..

  • if you are looking for modelling school, they are the one!

  • I will check this out, thank you!

  • look like a good school!

  • i go there now... yes they are a school but like the video said they are picky about who they pick. They fnd you plenty of jobs but obviously you werent good enough for the angecies that visited. Not everyone has what that person is looking for. Before they come in they know EXACTLY what they are looking for! They are very professional and obviously your agent isnt professional if they have to make rude comments about other businesses! they teach very good skills so i guess u didnt go long enough

  • actually they do cus im in it and i got two hand fulls of auditions and im bout to get signed thanks to them so dnt tell me that r nebody else sign up its great!
