This is amazing, I used to listen to this music on mono 78rpm and I find the same one in stereo. When was this version recorded ? 1960s ? Thanks for posting.
To be perfectly honest, I didn't think I'd find any of Russ Conway's stuff on youtube as he died in 2000 and his music is older than most stuff on here, but I was bored at college today and decided to search for it to get a bit of a one up over a pianist at college, found this and was happy :) He thought it was pretty insane as Russ was my great Uncle, only met him once though >.< He inspires me to become a great pianist liek him and keep it in the family!
This, along with so many other Russ Conway recordings like "Side Saddle", "Snow Coach", "Trampoline", and "Roulette" remind me of those early days at the parties we used to have at Christmas. 100% nostalgic. Thanks for posting it.
Very talented was Russ, also a songer writer working with Gracie Fields, Dorothy Squires his talent was amazing he wrote Far Away on here by Gracie, and Say It With Flowers, where he played for Dot, also on youtube FABULOUS THANKS FOR POSTING.
I have great love for Russ Conway music as I remember my step-mum Elsie Joanes with love also, she loved his music. I had a breakdown and was unable to see her, but I always listen to his music to remind me of her.
i wasnt around unit mid 90s but my grandad used to listen to this type of stuff when i was about 3 and now i like all the old stuff forget lady gaga and that crap
Many thanks, Bob18524. I appreciate your quick response and this piece of music. I am new to Russ Conway but just love his compositions and style. Thanks again. OWPK
Bob 18524, this brings back memories of the school "May Fair" in 1977 when I was 16 and my then girlfriend, who knew this was one of my favourites, requested it for me on the PA system. Most of my friends and the younger teachers rose up in horror, all the parents and older teachers thought it was absolutely marvellous. I still love it!
Its absolutely perfect so, as it is without video

Surprised that Mike Thomson (honkytonkman) hasn't added this one to his Russ Conway portfolio on YouTube.
.....Russ is almost as good as him
