  • The time has come. Good song.

  • noice =)

  • Awesome to hear somebody playing good music :)

  • Is that a Hillsong riff you're playing?

  • @Xevamir I recon so!

  • I noticed Hillsong first!

  • The time has come!!! :D

  • what would you recommend out of dd20, nova delay, space echo or line 6 for ambient epic sounds mate? I was thinking the line 6 would be a must as a background delay noise and then have one of the others over the top to really make the sound big. Which one tho?

  • cant really compare, each has it perks and quirks:)

ive owned 3 of ur delay choices tho, the dd20, line 6 and nova. honestly, i loved the dd20 the most, warmest delay tones and had a looping functions plus not too much space taken up as compared to the line6.

So for big sounds, the dd20 is definitely more than enough. line6 has really nice analog tones for their delay patches and if ambient music is your thing, you'd love it. that's if you dont mind tonal loss.

  • for clear tones, real distinct and crisp delays that cut thru, the nova's the winner. but no internal looper, that's a bummer for me but if u dun need one and want clearer delay 'chuggas', thats for u.

    hope the rambling helps:)

  • Ordered the Nova. Looping isn't needed yet. Thanks man! =)

  • no prob bro, have fun:)

  • I see. I used to play it at my school, except no leet ambient gear like you. =P

I used a tiny bit of very spacy delay and I'd shred my heart off on that simple yet awesome sounding line. Would you recommend the TC Nova or DL4 first?

  • depends bro. u want an onboard looper function? only the dl4 has that. but if you want nicer delay tones, the nova did it better for me. Size wise, the nova's a sure winner too!

  • Hillsong?

  • yup, 'the time has come'

  • Bro, great demo. You should look into a noise gate for the feedback at the beginning. I use a Rocktron Hush and it works really well for me. I play a lot of hillsong United to ;)

  • thanks bro:) i love the feedback sometimes actually and im not really into noisegates. but ill def try one out!

  • is there any other way to scroll through your nova's presets other than bending down and hitting the preset button?

  • u can, just press the left switch then scroll through with the right one.

However, its one-directional so u cant scroll backwards.

  • thanks for gettin back to me.... i been looking for a good delay like the nova for the dotted eight setting, the time has come just doesn't sound right with out it

  • agreed:) but currently, my delay stacks on the line6 m13 seems to do a great job of replacing it, really nice tones

  • sweet so i'd guess you're running the dotted eighth for all the lead riffs, and then switch to the dl4 for chorus, or are you doing the eighth on the TC and a quarter on the DL4.....

  • i put the eighth on the tc and quarter (washed-out tone) on dl4

  • the only trick after that is affording the 2 lol

  • Can you get this kinda sound without having two delay pedals?

  • yea u can:) the tc has a dual delay mode where u can layer two diff delays on top of each other. ive already sold it off alr but if im not wrong the dual delay mode has fixed patterns u can play with.

So the dl4 was used to attain the ambient backdrop while i used the tc to provide the shimmery delay notes. Always more fun to layer the delay pedals, imo

  • if i had to choose two delays what should i get = Boss DD20 Line 6 DL 4 or T.C. Nova Delay

  • depends on what u want actually.

if u want looping functions, the dl4 and dd20 wld be the ones to go for, with dl4 having more loop functions but to me, the dd20 loop sounds more unaltered

if u do not need looping functions, the tc is one of the best delays i've played with. it leans more towards the hi-fi delay feedbacks, so if u prefer the warmer tones, go for the dd20 instead - it has a tone knob for u to tweak to ur liking too

    hope this helps

  • It´s music is hillsong?

    Congratulations by pedalbord!!

what´s your pedal favorite of delay?

    dl-4 or nova delay?

The nova delay have some problem?

I am about buying one for myself

  • yup, "the time has come" by hillsongs

    the nova's definitely a favourite!

  • vox wah - korg tuner - ocd - sparkle drive - ts9 - crunchbox -boss eq - nova delay - line6 dl4 - rv5

yea, i love it aft the delays, creates a real 'edge' tone. nice as a backing ambient tone. just swapped out my dl4 for a dd20 tho. awesome stuff the boss gigadelay!

  • what are your pedal orders neway? also you notice ne difference putting the reverb after your delays?

  • sweet...i also have the dl4 and nova delay. for the time has come, i usually set my nova on 202 bmp on the delay line setting and the first subdvsn

  • nice bro. killer tones from these 2 and so many combinations it will take a while to get them all down ha

  • yah..honestly i liked the dl4 and boss dd5...way easier to set and mess around with compared to the nova...but its all good though

  • yea the dd5's amazing too. nearly traded my dl4 for one ha thks for the comments bro:) do rate if u liked it!
