A similar song, "Southern Can is Mine," was originally recorded by Blind Willie McTell (recording as Blind Sammie) in 1931.
When Madame Pamita contacted the spirit of Blind Willie McTell via the Ouija board, he assisted her in a re-write from beyond the grave. According to Madame Pamita, they then "wrote this revised version of the song that tells the real version of who owns whose southern can."

Good meeting you last night... Good stuff. Let me know if you get to see any of the Closet Singer stuff... "On The Road/Movin' Right Along" has another person in it, who you also met last night.
I cannot think of a more entertaining video on YouTube and it is such a sweet rendition of this old song. Please, Mr. or Mrs. Director/Cinematographer, give us more! And Madame Pamita ~ what a treasure of a songbird!
Absolutely loved this video. Great overall look, witty humorous, great authenticity of camera work costuming etc. Inventive creative and beautiful to observe. Madame Pamita is the best!
James, the video looks beautiful. Good job! And Pamita, you look and sound great. I love everything about this video - the cinematography, the music, the costumes, the performers...
It was so much fun being a dancing girl in this! The dresses were lent to us by LeLuxe Clothing Co. who make reproduction 20's beaded gowns if anyone is interested! Great job, James, on the video- and Pamita is so authentic....
I love this film, it is so beautiful and virginal. Madame Pamita is the greatest singer the early 20th Century has ever seen!! I see grand events for her in the future millennium.
It had to be done ^^ And it's nicely done.

Beautifully done . Kept expecting to see either Chaplin or Fatty Arbuckle wander thru. Lovely version of one of Blind Willie Mctells best.

Don't mean to be repetitive, but my comments get posted about one out of twenty times...
Madame Pamita is ab fab and so refreshing.
MORE, please. This should be slipped into Turner Classic Movies shorts: they wouldn't know the difference!

Thank you for the surface noise, the scratches and wear in the film, and the drop-dead good performances, especially that of Madame Pamita herself.
