Why single out Christians? No real Christian would give a crap about poorly conceived science in an obscure movie from the 90s. Don't make stupid blanket statements concerning the whole because of a loudmouth few.

You're much more likely to get objections by anyone with even a rudimentary grasp of science. As both I still don't give a crap about it being used here. It's a popcorn movie, not an accurate treatise on genetics. It's FICTION.

Seems more of a confirmation of what he suspected. Earlier he was just a tad incredulous, quickly followed by disgusted when the policeman told him humans were based on monkeys.

So you can view his tone in the context of "Hey! Whaddaya know? They were RIGHT about these things after all!"

Koopa may also have been delighted that the DEVO guns work. He DID fund their devlopment so it would make sense that he would be happy he got his moneys worth.

But there ARE certain similarities in DNA. Maybe it just turns people into something more primitive, rather than actually reverting into something an actual human ancestor. Thus Koopa may not have evolved directly from a T-Rex either. It's just a more primitive form of saurian life.

They just picked the name DEVO Gun because it sounded snappy, not because it's accurate. Sort of like how Grape Nuts have niether grapes or nuts in them.
