Actually watch the movies and you'll see how much of a whiner luke is over his uncle keeping him from getting power converters at toshi station compared to Bad Ass Qui-Gon's bad assery. Even when he gets pierced with a light saber and dies he doesn't lose his cool, but when Luke gets his hand cut off and finds out Vader is his father, he cries like a baby.
