About the video, Tim Wise and Peggy MacIntosh deal with this issue very well. While I agree that Affirmative Action isn't the best way to deal with inequality I think it's a relatively decent way to deal with white privileges in hiring, loans, housing, etc. for the time being. When white privilege in those areas of life ends, then Affirmative Actions should end. Statistically, less than 0.1% of white employees have been disadvantaged by it. Far more white people are harmed by legacy admissions.

When a white and black child goes together to school for 12 years (and they were in the same class), but the black child gets an affirmative action position, it indicates that they black is inferior. If they were the same, the black person would not need affirmative action.
What does government policy have to do with the superiority or inferiority of a race. If tomorrow it was said that a white must get a job over a black, it wouldn't prove that whites are inferior. It would only prove that the government is stupid.
You don't know anything about Affirmative Action. Affirmative Action actually helped White Women. AA is for all minorities---women (irregardless of race), racial groups, religious groups. Secondly, the reason why AA is around is not a babying...racism is very much still institutionalized. Why does race matter? If race is not a big deal--then don't call them Black? If race doesn't matter---then title use of Black/White which is race titles using color shouldn't be used.

Affirmative action is from 30 years ago... Managing diversity (and that's more than a racial, gender, and disabilty standpoint) is more common now. As for the question, I have noticed it seems to be perfectly OK for a black comic to say some REALLY mean things about whites, and it's seemingly OK, but if a white person tells a black person "oops, your shoelace is untied", it's somehow racism. ("You're only telling me my shoelace is untied because I'm black.")

About the video, Tim Wise and Peggy MacIntosh deal with this issue very well. While I agree that Affirmative Action isn't the best way to deal with inequality I think it's a relatively decent way to deal with white privileges in hiring, loans, housing, etc. for the time being. When white privilege in those areas of life ends, then Affirmative Actions should end. Statistically, less than 0.1% of white employees have been disadvantaged by it. Far more white people are harmed by legacy admissions.

The Fact that having 0.01% of ur dna altered can lead to down syndrome is absolutely irrelevant to this discussion because people of the same race do not nessesarily have similar dna. genetically a white guy can be closer to a black guy than a white guy to a white guy.

The struggle for equal rights that lead to AA also includes women, gays, handicapped, as well as racial minorities. All these groups had been deemed unfavorable in the workplace by the white male majoprity that controlled hiring.& all have & still have to deal with inequality. Genetics determine the characteristics of individuals or races. A pitbull is completely different race than the Golden Retriever, althouh both are dogs. (They can bread with each other.) When you put these two breeds together in the same area, you get conflict. The pitbull doesn't like it when the Golden Retriever say he is viscious, and he calls it racism- although it is the truth!

Humans react towards education, health care, etc. Yes, better healthcare, education, etc will improve the situation of an individual to a certain degree, but then the genetical differences take over. A genetically "weak" tomato plant will NEVER bear as much fruit as a genetically better one, even if you give it the best fertilizer. It just doesn't have the ability. The same happens with humans.

Any person, animal or plant reacts to nutrition & disease control. Nutrition helps to improve the condition of living organisms. If you fertilise a plant, it will produce a better harvest, BUT the genetic differences between plants result in the one bearing more fruit than the other. Two genetically different tomato plants will not produce the same crop, even if they receive the same amount of fertilizer, disease control and they grow next to each other.

Education, food, etc can change an individual, but it does not change the average IQ if a race. There are books written on this issue. You should go and read them. That's a stupid and uneducated stance. Lower IQ is likely due to malnutrition and lack of education (education does have an effect on IQ). Morality is a cultural thing. If you think of morals, most of them are based on Christianity (like it or not) since Europe and North America used to be predominantly Christian. Competence is directly linked to education. There ARE racial differences, but not that noticeable.
