dude, the original script by oliver stone was nothing like the actual movie, it consisted of hordes of monster-armies, like lord of the ring, but unfortunately, the technology wasn't that advanced in 1982, so they made the movie like this... and a job well done i think. better this movie in 1982 than a foony-looking one with dolls representing monsters. (in animation flicks like "fire and ice" it was much easier to visualise the director's imagination)
