But yeah that's why I say "mainstream" because, in all honesty--as amazing as Beyonce, Mariah, Whitney, and Celine are... there are classical and opera singers that sing with much better technique, more power and more range, all without even using a mic and could sing circles around all these "vocalists." But to me, as far as mainstream vocalists go, Mariah and Beyonce are the best!

@BreakTheIce222 ehhh... No offense, and I respect your kindness.. But as much as I love Kelly Clarkson, and she has a great upper belt... she's way too inconsistent. Some times she's incredible--then other times she misses her notes too frequently and her voice sounds scratchy. And Christina if off-key way too frequently, her voice sounds strained and forced, she has amateur larynx control, and her runs lack musicality. BUT, she does have a beautiful falsetto/head voice.

@VocalPowa It comes down to personal preference. I wouldn't judge artists based on their BAD performances when comparing them to other performers. I'm sure Beyonce has her awful performances too but I wouldn't use those to compare her against Christina's Grammy performance of "This is a man's world" or something. It's not fair. Nobody is perfect, they are all human after all. I personally think that when Kelly and Christina are on point, they far out perform Beyonce vocally.

Imagine if an Olympic runner could sprint the a mile in 2 minutes--but only once a year, they would be inferior to the runner that could sprint a mile in 2:15 every time. And even Christina's best (like the grammy performance) was really soulful, but wasn't vocally incredible. Beyonce's technique on any day easily outshines both of them.
