Of all the 7 great ladies of Soul(Aretha, Patti, Dionne,& Diana) these ladies have lost a little something.Roberta & Tina still have it though. But the one that has lost nothing and seems to be stronger vocally is The Empress of Soul Gladys Knight. If she wasn't so busy, I think they would call her to do things like this more often. She has the best voice in the business.

@higgybaby1 I agree that Gladys' voice has lost almost none of its range,& sounds very much as it did in the 60's/70's, I think saying shes the best is a blanketing statment, but one I wouldnt disaggree with. I would love to see more of her too.That warm intimate feeling i get when i hear Gladys' voice. I'm waiting for another album from her. One suggestion, I think you left out Mavis.:0) well thanks for this comment, & for paying hommage to Immortal Soul ladies!

Aretha Franklin doesn't usually sing in the cold and is very strict about singing even indoor temperatures that are too cool. I imagine she was hoping to avoid a mis-step like she experienced at the Inauguration
