Think again! Sami Yusuf is uniting Muslims around the world, he is bridging the gaps between every sects of Islam. All the people now days see Muslims as terrorists. He is showing the light and loving side of Muslims
He's on the right path. What he is doing makes me proud to be a Muslim. After he spread the word of Allah through music around the world, all the English and Western channels like CNN, ABC, BBC, they appreciate his work. And it was due to this appreciation that the misconception about Muslims being extremists and terrorists is being corrected. Due to his Music, the west now sees Islam as a loving, peaceful and united religion.
Yes as there's plenty of ways to spread islam positively. But music is haram it's in sahih hadith and it doesn't matter how music is being used it's still haram!
There is nothing in the Qur'an or sahih hadith that forbids music. Traditional scholars try to make everything haram, but that's their problem. It is very clear that music is not haraam.
Ok I made a mistake, there is a hadith from Bukhari that says music is haram. But scholars have different opinions on the matter. According to Ghazali it is not haram.
