  • Nice try, but there is only one o in the middle of monoxide. Monoxide... not mono-oxide.

  • i love his mono-tone voice

  • HAHAHA it's water

  • Every year EVERYONE is exposed to Dihydrogen Monoxide.

  • Haha

  • Sooo weird!!! I'm like woh I better not go near hydrogen monoxide!!!

  • dihydrogen monoxide= H2O

    hydrogen hydroxide= H2O

    water= H2O

you're good... no seriously, my friend fell for this and he got an A* in chemistry.

I got it straight away though lol

  • I really hope he doesn't think that is how you actually pronounce dihydrogen monoxide...

  • Oh shit, I just drank a whole pint of it!

  • wtf I thought it was a drug

  • This is fake it says April fools

  • My Social Studies teacher taught us about always reading and finding out information about things before you sign thing and give information about yourself. He told us all of the harmful things about DHMO, it kills people, and all the other , and showed us this video (Not the end though). Read next comment.....

  • Dihydrogen Monoxide is water because H2O

  • look at the tags it says H2O and Water

  • It's pronounced mon-oxide... Your supposed to drop the voul in the prefix when using it with oxygen

  • Hide yo kids, hide yo wife!

  • am i gonna die i just drank 2 litres of dihydrogen monoxide

  • u cant hear the fizzing reaction

  • 1:59 his facial reaction ! haha

  • Actually, the top comment is wrong. I know this because I took chemistry.

  • @MultiFavre You're correct, it is actually mono-oxide. But since mono-oxide is so annoying to pronounce, people usually call it monoxide.

  • actually the top comment is wrong it is monoxide i took chemistry

  • lol my physics teacher tried pulling this on me but i could tell by the name that it was water xD gotta love science! :D

  • @darkmoonlight96 Lol awesome. I actually asked my science teacher what the scientific name for water was and that's how I found out. Nobody can pull this on me! xD

  • Also, is water Dihydrogen Monoxide? I'm a bit scared still...

  • @emilya321cprocks yes...its water.

  • @emilya321cprocks di (2) Hydrogen mon (1) oxide - 2H 1O = H2O

  • Wait, can't they just like.. make a removing thing to remove it, it's starting to scare me.. f saying, "It's all around us..." Wait.. is Dihydrogen Monoxide a type of air? Because I heard that my teacher said Carbon [something] is air and it can kill many people or something like that...

  • I love how some people actually take this seriously and dislike this for tricking them. I bet they seemed like huge idiots when they sent Obama a letter to ban water.

  • Me?

  • why is he saying MONO-OXIDE, isn't it pronounced MON-OXIDE

  • @iansmelly it is if you're not a scientist :-P monoxide is just a "normal man's" pronounciation because some people find it difficult to speak 2 o-s like that. but mono-oxide is technically correct since mono means 1 and oxide means "has reacted with oxygen"

  • well dihydrogen monoxide is dangerous a lack of it and you could die from dehydration!

  • My fridge give me that when I pushed the tab

  • DiHydrogen Monoxide are now killing and causing big damage in Australia!

  • Di = 2

    Mono = 1

    Hydrogen2Oxide1

    H2O

  • OH GOD, IT'S ALL AROUND ME!!!!

  • milions of people fall on this one

  • Did you know there are entire ecosystems that THRIVE in DHMO?

  • You are pronouncing "monoxide" with an extra "o" syllable. You are saying: mon-o-ox-ide" (4 syllables), when it should be 3 syllables: "mon-ox-ide". :-)

  • Dihydrogen= 2 Hydrogen Atoms

    Monoxide=1 Oxygen Atom..

    Its like WATER!!! ahahh!! H20..

  • how did it make the fire? is it by the thing he put in

  • dihydrogen monoxide makes me trip out

  • Oh my god I just accidentally consumed a large amount of Dihydrogen Monoxide what do I do?!?!!?!

  • lol they did this at school, we wached 2 creepy videos with horrible music making me get goose bump. afterwards, my science teacher was like, who thinks we should ban this and i agreed on banning. and he was like, it's water. akward....

  • after one becomes dependent, withdrawal from DHMO means certain death...

  • i guess no more water for me

  • HAHAHAHA oh my God, what retard would fall for that? Lovely video man, you had them. Although, at the word "monoxide" people tend to panic. I pulled this on my mom, called her "Mom, I just spilled dihydrogen monoxide over my wrist. It feels... cold... really unpleasant..." - "Oh my God, call the poison hotline!". And my mom ain't stupid. It's really how you describe what water can do if used improperly plus the monoxide word. How to know what H2O stands for if chem classes are 40 years back?

  • oh yea, H2O is so dangerous

  • Phh idiots did anyone believe in this?

  • I see no real danger with it to be honest.

It seems like another thing that you can set on fire

  • Mono-oxide?!

    Ins pronounce mon-oxide...

  • Yea, it's fun. But HEY!! Learn how to pronounce the word. The letter "o" appears only twice. Mon-0xide. Not Mono-oxide.

  • doest he mean billions of children?

  • Lol

  • wow... it's water :PP

  • haha xD lol

  • Thank god i took chemistry before this joke came around lol

  • Sorry but half you guys saying "lol water hehhhh" were saying to your self whaaaaa??? until some smart cookie said it on the comments you would have been none the wiser lol i guess ill have to go water.. uh i mean Dihydrogen Monoxides Anonymous

  • People die in it every year. I used to be one of the Certified people to prevent the deaths of this substance. It is also, according to Al Gore, killing the Polar Bears. OMG!

  • omg i was willing to ask where to find this chemical lol , im totally owned !

  • i love Dihydrogen Monoxide

  • di meaning two, mono meaning one....H2O!!!! lol

  • Its not mono-oxide, noobie...

Look, there is just one single "o".

  • @dispatcher7007

I know!!!! It was annoying me!!!

  • Wiat, the fizzing reaction? I've never heard of that one.

  • if its that deadly than where could you find it

  • go to your bathroom. then go to the sink and open it. lots of DHMO will flow.

  • @MozartJunior22 omg thats scary LOL

  • I want Steve spangler!!!!!?

  • Guys its water dont get scared of it im not kidding if you drink to much of water you could drown your self so stop listeaning to this crap!!

  • Wow so many people on youtube are idiots and dont know a joke when they see it.

  • Oh!!! this explains why it tasted so sour when I tryed it!

  • I use dihydrogen monoxide to make ramen noodles!

  • isnt dihydrogen monoxide water h2o

  • no it's H2O3

  • @deathsminion25 No, that would be Dihydrogen Oxate.

  • trioxide, its a molecular compound not an ionic..HOOH..but nice try.

  • Hydrogen Peroxide?

  • Where is it available what is it where can you find it

  • some over here... and here... and umm... where?

  • Dihydrogen Monoxide, scary stuff!

I'll be sure to avoid contact with it for the rest of my life!

    Thanks for the heads-up!

Some of my crazy neighbors have big pits FULL of Dihydrogen Monoxide behind their houses, that they actually jump into! Yikes!

The next time I buy a water filter for my kitchen faucet, I'll be sure that it filters out that dangerous Dihydrogen Monoxide!

  • lol..... both at the joke AND at the mono - oxide pronounciation........

  • did you know water can be radioactive by using the different faces of hydrogen like tritium

  • "This here, and this over here... and some of these here..."

  • Ca + H2O ( dihydrogen monoxide) -> Ca(OH)2 + H2

(Hydrogen gas is flammable and causes the explosion)

ironically without dihydrogen monoxide, life wouldn't have been possible :P:P

  • lol stupid fools

  • Oh no! My friends poisoned me! They gave me a bottle of dihydrogen monoxide to drink!

  • @gamer2710 dihydrogen monoxide is water

  • OMFG!!! I just took 12 cups of dihydrogen monoxide!!! I'm gonna die!!!

  • Wow you're all stupid

    It IS water

    Dihydrogen = two hydrogens, yes?

    Monoxide = one oxygen, yes?

What is two hydrogen plus one oxygen?

    H2O

My chemistry teacher did this trick on us...

  • -.- It's monoxide not mono-oxide.

  • @SpiffyShindigs

    MonMooxide

    :3

  • @SpiffyShindigs EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING THE WHOLE VIDEO!

  • ITS WATER XD

  • I've learned about this before...Maybe I should do a science presentation about it! Too bad the school year is almost over. Not in that sense. :D

  • this has been my favorate trick for many years. you would be suprised how many uninformed fools are out there.

  • It would not suprise me at all. I meet them on a daily basis.

  • DHMO is also consumed by criminals and is used in conjunction with the use of illegal drugs.

Btw, awesome shirt of the other guy at the end.

  • no its not!!

  • wait is he being sarcastic, or not?? whats with the sarcastic voice if its actually dangerous??

  • Yes, he was being sarcastic. This was our April Fools day joke. Dihydrogen Monoxide is water, check it out at the end of our video!

  • @Stevespanglerscience It's like to see someone who actually knows what it is. I'm frustrated but now I know what to fool my science teacher with.

  • Can you tell me how to make those sparking rocks thing on your promotion video because i cant find a video of you making/doing it.

  • its not dangerous its water

  • @sledger89 wow u realy are stupid.

  • geek....

  • April Fool!!!

  • lol water
