  • Ok, I know that but FSUIPC doesn't support Saitek Panels unfortunately, Also in the Buttons/Switches tab in FSUIPC, it suddenly freezes/crashes after a minute or so, and my pc is pretty good.

So to assign buttons to my Saitek Panels, I downloaded a program called SPAD, but I don't know how to use it. Maybe you got spad and you can help me? I don't know where SPAD is located, if I open the icon, nothing happens. Also there is no SPAD anywhere in FSX. Thanks again in advance.

  • @arjennovic First, FSUIPC supports my Saitek throttles just fine. I cannot speak for the panel but my friend uses a yoke and has assigned things to it easy. You need to PAY for FSUIPC to get the functionality you want. Second, to clarify, you downloaded a program you've never heard of (and I've never heard of), cannot find the READ ME file or instructions, cannot find the program on your PC and you don't know how to use it - correct summary???

  • Hey Nigel, thanks for the tutorial. Creating mouse macros is easy for me. But I want those particular mouse macros to be assigned to my Saitek Yoke. So for example, I have the PMDG 747-400 and a create a mouse macro for Autopilot Disconnect, and I assign it to the A key. So when I press A, the autopilot will be disconnected. But now I want to assign that A to a particular button on my Yoke, but I don't know how to do that. Can I also assign things to my Saitek Switch Panel? Thanks in advance.

  • @arjennovic You can use FSUIPC to assign controls to any button, key, joystick or other device recognised as a human interface device. This is done on the Buttons and Switches page in FSUIPC and I think it's pretty obvious how to do it.

  • If I had a bu083x and toggle switches on the card would I not be able to assign. Them to do things without the fsuipc

  • @mast123100 Sure. Provided the function you want is in the FS list of assaignable controls. If it is not then this technique might be your only option.

  • @mast123100 ok thanks:D

  • Great demo! Once the macro is assigned must the corresponding panel be opened in order for the key press to work? In other words, will it work from the VC without (in this case) the overhead being visible?

  • @thetrooper1950 Hi, it WILL work without the panel being visible. ONce you've assigned the controls to a particular panel, you may never see that panel again. Brilliant eh??

  • @nigelmtb Thanks Nigel. I'll have to try that! I have a CH yoke and TQ as well as a GoFlight switch panel so I have a few spare buttons/switches! BTW I really enjoyed your CTP videos. I am participating in next weekend's eastbound event out of CYUL for EGKK.

  • Is FSUIPC only for FS or also for other games/simulators?

  • @Sotgar FS only.

  • Thanks for the positive responses guys! Glad to be able to help you out a bit!

  • great video man thank youuuuuuu very much

  • "Bob's your uncle" is the British equivalent of the American phrase "and there you have it."

  • Bob's your uncle?

    LOL good stuff!

  • I highly commend you for your efforts. Good feeling to see people still like to share and care. Good luck with the project

  • thank you so much for these videos.. I've been wanting to create a CRJ cockpit for ages and was never able to find any information on how to get the hardware into the software besides knowing I needed to use FSUIPC. Did you show how we connect the actual hardware switch to the software command? Maybe I just missed it.

  • Excellent Video, I never knew about this, although I had it all along, doesn't really apply to my Cessna that much, but I am very happy that I now know about this now! Thanks Nigel. Alex (alexpilot@MC)
