Well, it goes to show you. When Mr. Brightman uses the word "Indian scrooges". It shows you that white people aren't the problem nor Indians that are the problem. The human race is the problem. As long as humans are still alive, there will never be a shortage of hate, war, and greed.
Yeah, Native Americans deserved the right to fund themselves and to learn more about their culture. DQ Univ. should be emphasized in Native American studies and its modern enterprises like gambling industries, farming, et cetera. Of course the funds are coming from the tribes so state government shouldn't even interfere. IT"S A DISRUPTION.
Not only are some of our gaming tribes not giving money for education, they kicking out members for speaking out against corruption, etc. The money then goes to the rest of the greedy members & politicians, lobbyists, etc. Less Indians in the Tribe means more money for the rest. The ones kicked out lose their inherent & tribal rights as Indians. It is an outrage & no one will get involved all in the name of soveriegnty.
I also was taught on 2 separate occasions by Mr. Brightman. His classes were always informative and entertaining. I wish him nothing but luck in his quest to preserve something that he believes in>
Professor Brightman is the founder and National President of United Native Americans, Inc. a non-profit Indian organization formed in 1968,
He established and coordinated the FIRST Native American Studies Program in the United States at UC Berkeley in 1969, and has since taught at the University of California in San Diego, Sacramento State University, Contra Costa College in San Pablo, California & DQ-University Near Davis California.
I have the most respect for Mr. Brightman and this cause. I am a teacher and wish I could offer my services to the University......I hope with all my heart that D-Q University survives.....
