i'd rather be the driver of that mazda. any japanese car is reliable and cheap to fix. i drive a 2003 mazda protege5 fully loaded and 5 speed manual. 4 months owned and still runs fantastic. 750 kilometers to a tank (unsure of miles). Neons = shit on gas, goes through trannies like they're going outta style, bottom end is poorly built, and snaps axles if you're too hard on it.

@l091805772 yup, im not sure why, but with full bolts ons and a tune you might crack 340hp and around 360 lb ft at 24psi which isnt bad, but isnt great to even go past an intake and a tune, you need a $300-$700 camshaft driven fuel pump upgrade because the stock one sucks
@l091805772 its a high pressure fuel pump that pushes fuel pressure to 1600psi-1800psi at wide open throttle..... basically if the pressure drops below 1600 the engine computer tries to spray more fuel, lowering the fuel pressure even more, leading to fuel pump failure and a blown engine
some ms3's can take a race pipe, intake and a tune, and be fine.... but most of them can bately stand a stage 1 tune and a intake before needing a pump
@sciullo779 You can buy the KDM internals for a little over $200 and rebuild it yourself in less than an hour. Same internals they use for upgrading the HPFP's in some of the newer Turbo ScrubDubs (VW). I have a MS6 and haven't run into the fuel cut issue, but I'm planning a turbo back and Access port after the holidays (tax return monies), and I'm worried that i might start hitting the fuel cut problem. I do get the occasional "Mystery" stumble that almost all Ms6's have suffered from.
@sciullo779 Lol you can get 40 Wheel HP and Torque from a $150 catless downpipe on a completely stock motor. $200 bucks get you 20-25 whp and torque from a Corksport SRI and Turbo inlet pipe. Big turbo is For after Full exhaust Front mount inter cooler, and probably a new HP Fuel pump. But not needed. The K04 Spools fast makes instant power and will still propel Ms3's and Ms6's 1/4 mile in high 12's low 13's. Best turbo for a DD would be GT3071, and it isn't "BIG" turbo.
@SeigiSama your not getting 40whp on a catless downpipe on stock internals and pump and on the stock tune. and if you get a tune for the DP and go wot your fuel pressure will plummet and youll probably blow the motor or burn a valve etc very quickly
its been PROVEN that the '10+ ms3's require an upgraded pump after just an intake and a tune to 17psi otherwise they blow. and the 1st gen ms3s have differerent fueling logic and just about everyone considers going from a k04 to a gt3071 going BT
@SeigiSama ive never personally seen a mazdaspeed 3 run low 13's. 3 of my friends have them, one of which has about every bolt on you can put on it, and they just cant hit a low 13. i ran a low 13 in my cobalt with basic bolt ons and that was with me letting off after 3rd gear (4th gear was locking me out all night at the strip)

I had an 03 Civic and an 05 SRT4.....the interiors of both really aren't that big a difference...other than the rear windows being power. And the SRT4 is literally 10000 times more fun to drive, far outweighing the slightly nicer interior. Who the hell buys cheap ass tuner hot rods for the interior fit & finish anyway? If I wanted that I'd go out buy a bmw or something. I never got the hating on the srt4 because the interior isnt super classy. The car is about going fast for little money.
@tomashndricks Stage 3 refers to how modified the car is. Stages 1 and 2 generally involve bolt on mods like intake, exhaust etc. Stage 3 gets deeper into the car with more complex mods.

I think foreign cars have always outdone American cars. And I'm American, by the way. The quality of Japanese cars can't be beaten. I've driven a 2009 Ford Focus and the inside had the cheapest looking plastic I've ever seen. My 2007 Mazda3 has a much better quality interior. My parents have owned Toyotas since before I was born, still own Toyotas today, and my sister has a 2000 Honda Civic that is still kicking. And I have my Mazda3 which is great and a quality car.
The Mazda is in my town and no doubt it looks good. For the price u get a whole lot more with it then the srt. Why all the hate? Cars a car. In the end it gets u from point a to point b weather it's fast or not.

I beat alot of people at the track and on the streets with mine and it only had a few mods. Take a 350z and an srt add only 500 dollars in parts to both, and the srt will wax the Z consistantly.

The motor is made by the same people you manufacture viper motors, and a stage 3 turbo i doubt this car has a stage 3 turbo because he would have just blown that mazda out the ass trust me.

I had an 03 Civic and an 05 SRT4.....the interiors of both really aren't that big a difference...other than the rear windows being power. And the SRT4 is literally 10000 times more fun to drive, far outweighing the slightly nicer interior. Who the hell buys cheap ass tuner hot rods for the interior fit & finish anyway? If I wanted that I'd go out buy a bmw or something. I never got the hating on the srt4 because the interior isnt super classy. The car is about going fast for little money.

@tomashndricks Stage 3 refers to how modified the car is. Stages 1 and 2 generally involve bolt on mods like intake, exhaust etc. Stage 3 gets deeper into the car with more complex mods.

I think foreign cars have always outdone American cars. And I'm American, by the way. The quality of Japanese cars can't be beaten. I've driven a 2009 Ford Focus and the inside had the cheapest looking plastic I've ever seen. My 2007 Mazda3 has a much better quality interior. My parents have owned Toyotas since before I was born, still own Toyotas today, and my sister has a 2000 Honda Civic that is still kicking. And I have my Mazda3 which is great and a quality car.

The Mazda is in my town and no doubt it looks good. For the price u get a whole lot more with it then the srt. Why all the hate? Cars a car. In the end it gets u from point a to point b weather it's fast or not.

if they speed was modded big difference the outcome would have been. my car will beat a stock speed3 badly but my buddies speed3 will destroy my car. but still im sure your car is decent. just never been a huge fan of srt's people around where i live turn them into crap and/or riced out badly. maybe its different for your area

speed3 looks bone stalk eitherway the srt is way more beefed up than the speed 3. if the speed 3 had more bolt ons it would have def. been a better race. although i'd hate to say it, the srt got this one..

Nice win. All the people are either closed minded, stupid, or just plain jealous. There is nothing wrong with an srt. I beat alot of people at the track and on the streets with mine and it only had a few mods. Take a 350z and an srt add only 500 dollars in parts to both, and the srt will wax the Z consistantly.
