@609goku Two guys on our team ran alpha blacks, one switched to a Salvo. They had little to no complaints. It was durable and had very few problems. If you're planning on playing scenario games you'd be best getting a line with it, as well as a sling.

u forgot the azodin mate.. their reliable... cheap... and even some of their line has the e- grip. however i agree with the spider mr1 and the 98. but i feel that the A5 deserves at least a spot below the 98.... but other then that. these are some good recommendations

Those are some ok markers the 98 custom is the best one out of all of them I sold my spyder duel e trigger for 175 and bought a dye hawaiian off eBay for 200 I liked my spyder but I'm glad I got rid of it I had anti duel feed in it and it would still double shot on semi auto all in all though if u want a great beginner marker go buy a black max pmi duel trigger I've had mine since I started a year ago and my pmi still works like it's brand new

Okay. Rule #1 Spyders are not reliable. #2 If you want a good reliable gun go with an autococker or a pump! I can agree that tippman makes great guns but that limits you to scenario and woodsball. With a cocker or pump, it can be used for anything. Plus they grow as you do. They have far more upgrades than any other guns in my opinion. The other thing is they start at about $75!

Azodin are honestly the best beginner guns. my back up gun is a Blitz 2 actually used it last week because my proto SLG started to leak slightly. azodin's will take a beating and keep working never buy a spyder they don't last.

@nerfxmodsxftw they chop because they dont have eyes. if you get a spyder that has eyes and a feeder you wont chop. but that defeats the purpose of having a spyder. i own an mr1 strictly for woodsball, it doesnt take batteries, its durable and i dont have to worry about it breaking cuz all the parts are heavy duty. spyder has no place on speedbal fields, only woodsball. ive owned egos and all kinds of dm's and they chop to every once inawhile so its not just spyders.

I suggest my very first gun the viewloader orion. Its kinda like a tippmann 98 but less accurate its for around 70- 100$

The newer spyders will do alright on 9vs, but the older ones will only fire a few shots before the battery voltage drops below what is required for the soldnoid. If you have a problem, u need to use the 9.6v battery.

Or you can go with the look alikes like BT models. the BT sa17 is a great marker for beginners. its upgradable and fuklly enterchangable with other bty marker accessories. the internals are spyder i think and its all one peice so its easy to field strip and clean. this guy doesnt know much about beginner guns.

Carver One (tango one for those outside the US) is my paintball gun of choice. the cyclone feed system isn't supposed to fit the carver, but i jury-rigged the whole thing to work and it runs just fine. also, you don't need fancy electronic solenoid valves to fire in full auto, just tinker with your gun's trigger system till it can cycle with the trigger held down.

@Twinky980 my proto i first got wouldnt work it had a board malfunction and its complicated to operate even now it jams ALOT the eye fails and it breaks paint for no reason even on factory setting if you rapid fire after sending it back a secound time i have much less breakage but it stil happens often and there is a specific way to clear it that isnt too difficult but tippmanns are incredably reliable and very customizable my proto is not customizable and was not a begginner gun at all

My first gun was a Tippman 98 Custom. That I upgraded with a 6 legnth adjustable stock, The Response trigger, The Cyclone Feed. I loved and used it for about 4 years. And then recently I bought an Empire Axe With a Ninja tank, and a rotor. It is fuckin sweet! I love it so much! I have played around 4-5 times with it and played in Oklahoma DDay this year with it it only broke like 3 balls out of 7 cases of paint shot through it. It is an awesome gun and the next upgrade to go to In my opinion....

I would just like to note that the Ion is probably the worst gun for beginners. The maintenance is stupid ridicules unless you have a bolt-out-the-back model. Also, replacing busted macro lines can get costly if they, since being newbies, are running c02 through it.

@jdogsteel007 you can get a refill at a local shop that sells paintball guns, ammo etc. If u dont have a local shop that does then u can just buy new tanks but most paintball fields should have refill machines so you wont have to buy them just make sure you know how to before you do. If any of those options arent avaible to you then youl just have to buy new tanks every time you run out of gas.

@BelowAverageProd Woudnt say they're the best, but definitely up there for overall use, i usually shoot a dm7 for almost everything else, but still keep my 98 and an old mask inside my truck all year round in case i pass by a field while working out of town and want to play without shelling out 50 bucks for a rental, the things are hard to break unless you use them as a hammer or shovel or something. Though i still facepalm every time i see someone with a 98 running around with a 20inch barrel
