  • @konstantineb

  • why do they wear the masks?

  • @kimvlaar bacteria? They are close to both give and recieve bacteria thru respiration..

  • A deep bow to the Japanese people who do everything with such a commitment...

  • This man reminds me of my barber in Okinawa. Please make another :(

  • looks nice

  • Would you please make another video of a trip to this amazing barber? Thank you!

  • @stopendapresses2

    I suppose I could. I do need a haircut!

  • @Gimmeaflakeman I look forward to seeing the next trip! :)

  • @Gimmeaflakeman This would be so awesome! I jumped arround like a little kid when i red this!

  • I think the old man was showing off. But skills, he has.

  • I am watching this man's hands and his movements..Amazing strength..

  • A real man's barber.Professional..Great Video.Thanks..Regards to the gentleman..

  • I guess this will be my 30th time watching this video!!!!!!

  • makes so much more sense to wash the hair after it's cut..get out all the little loose stragglers and stuff. Then you won't feel all itchy when you leave the barber. Nice job, I enjoyed watching this video.

  • wow

  • watching this makes me even more excited that i picked this as a profession and a trade for life. Thank you for uploading! He is very skilled with the straight razor!

  • 私は日本を愛する。私は食糧およびサービスを逃す。毛の切口は喜び、私常に得たマッサージ、それをあったそれの価値が充分だった。

  • youtube needs more unedited/uncut videos. I hate when a supposedly 1 hour thing gets dumbed down to 1:30 minutes >_>

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • So Fresh and So Clean, I bet u felt refreshed after.

  • this man is truly a professionall..

  • where abouts is this place in japan?

  • I really enjoyed this video, thank you!

  • someone explain the forehead shaving

  • 36:11 Ok, at the start of the hair cut the Barber puts talcum powder so he can see if the cut is even. Now he's still cutting the back after he has washed all the hair out. So much for the talcum powder.

  • 25:00 Now the Barber is showing off after all, who on earth grows hair on their forehead?

  • @macktheknife888 It is a common practice for men and women to shave their entire body. It is not necessarily to shave hair off, but to shave or scrap dead skin cell off the body.

  • Service like this is almost extinct in the US! Great video.

  • Hi Again, I was referring to funny japanese voices in my last comment. An example in the video is at 26:25-26:30. You can hear the funny voice on tv. Thats what I mean. Why do they talk like that? I have been all over the world, from china, saudi arabia, france, bulgaria, south africa e.t.c and I still havent heard dialogue quite like japanese. It all sounds so cartoony and childish.

  • Nice video. Your Japanese is very good. One question I had though, and I dont mean to be rude to the Japanese, but why do their voices sound weired sometimes? I was listening to the TV in the background in the video, and the women have these funny high pitched voices. Also why is it always women that narrate tv adverts, and also there seems to be more adverts on tv than actual shows lol

  • Bald men must hate you. :D

  • haha nice afro at the start

  • Why did he put on the face mask?

  • this has become my "go to sleep" video!! Not in a bad way, just the calm, relax feelling that it gives me. Would love to meet this man. Very dedicated, calm, steady hand....

  • You've probably answered this question before, but what do you do for a living in Japan?

  • they forgot to breet!

  • 'unedited' is an understatment

  • A very skilled and dedicated man. I salute you and your craft sir.

  • @phaikia13

    I'll tell him!

  • come on eileen

  • Made me sleepy!! Nice job!

  • Psh. I just take a pair of clippers to my dome and wish for the best. That's how a MAN is supposed to cut his hair. Blood and bald spots are badges of HONOR.

  • @HensaStralem weird cause i'd go skill over honor any day

  • I watch this as I play Minecraft

  • 奇妙な未来のボルフGANGがそれらの全てを殺します!

  • the fact that he goes over his entire head to check for anything he left uneven makes him a superb hairdresser. I cannot stand coming home from one and I find all their mistakes... I would pay 3 times as much if I knew time and effort went into it.

  • Im a barber in dallas tx and not all babers know how to do all that he did i have very few clients that will pay for a full service like that

  • Powder on the hair? True barber using scissors .

  • i am looking for a pull out sink like the one he has. if you are still in the area i would appreciate any info you could get. and what is he doing to your ears and how? amazing!!!!!

  • This looks super comfortable... o-o haha

  • Haircut, shave and shampoo!? That's service!

  • どうもありがとうミスターロボット

  • this should be made into an instructional video for all barbers...I've paid $20 for some really hurried, hacked up haircuts.

  • shaved between ur brows... that cant be good for the future

  • After seeing this a few times. I do want to know what they're saying.

Could we please get a subtitled version of this video?

It just would be the best!

Thanks for uploading the video and know I envy you o/

  • I don't get my forehead shaved often enough.

  • Baba spent his early years learning from this man.

  • For some reason, i cannot stop watching this video.

  • 2 years later and still hoping for subtitles.. :(

  • (((d(--__--)b))) great video

  • omg too long

  • took so long looks like no difference could have done this in 20 mins with clippers

  • i love watching dedicated people doing their jobs ! :p

  • If you dont mind me asking why no tips?

  • @danovanw

You could be asking "why tips"? regarding that custom in other countries....

  • word son

  • Thank you for uploading this :-)

  • 良いなぁこの感じww

  • this man has skills how much was that hair cut in Japan , i would like to go their my self

  • Exactly how much would a haircut like this cost?

  • Exactly how much would a haircut like this cost?

  • I promised my wife that I would go to Europe with her if she would go to Japan with me. I love Japanese History especially the Samurai history, where are some locations that I would need to visit? This guy is a Samurai with the scissors!

  • 40 minutes, WOW. This is not a haircut but an operation

  • This man is a very good barber, diligent and hard working.

  • Why is the barber wearing the face mask?

  • @Satchel334 Im guessing its so that he dosent breathe in his face

  • @Satchel334 stop him from breathing the tiny hairs, its the law in japan i think

  • This is Baba's hairdresser....

  • @jeremywendelin

    40 thumbs up!!? Wow!

  • @Gimmeaflakeman 40 likes. This is a sign from the gods that your hair is getting too long and you need a haircut.... get a haircut hippie!!!! And when you do post on YouTube for the gods /and for people who have insomnia...

  • This was so cool, I wish I was a guy so he could cut my hair and shave my face :o

You looked like you enjoyed it victor

  • Thats it, I'm watching The Last Samurai again tomorrow :D Haven't seen it in a while anyway :D

  • @wiggalama who cares?

  • @Elgesen Apparently you, you went throught the trouble of commenting to express your opinion about my declaration for either yourself or the audience and yourself, thus contradicting your own arguement the moment you began it :D

  • i tried tipping a japanese barber and refuse to take tips....an honor thing of some sort

  • @drvenhrd46 Yep, the idea is that the quality of the service is determined by the owner and should naturally be good, not to where the waitor's quality is partially dependent on the opinion of the customer. The appropiate money is supposed to already be more than paid at the bill and what they pay the employees :D

  • lmao you guys need to watch the subtitles... make sure to transcribe to english... lmao its so funny!!!

  • @RAMBOJVR HAHAHAHAHAHA thank you for that!

  • NICE!

  • Well, i turned on transcribe auto, then saw it was in japanese, then i translated it, and the english translation makes no sense.

  • 24:49 SILENCE OF THE LAMBS!

  • no hair trimmers all scissors and comb

  • this barber shop is interesting it makes wanna go get a hair cut here

  • I watched only few parts of the video since its veeeery long but it was interesting to see this older japanese barber. How much would one pay for this in Japan? Regards from Germany.

    Btw good haircut. Hehe

  • @smaniz A cheaper place with the shave and pampering would be at least 3500 yen, but it can head a long ways up from there.. It's awesome though. A true "spa for men".

  • 25:44 is amazing!! + anime on the tv!

  • Why are there no barber shops like this in the united states?

  • Best part is the barber's skill and professionalism. Makes it an art!

  • master barber..

  • How much did u pay?

  • In the Middle Ages, this man would have been a Samurai's valet... Superb!

  • best damn haircut ive ever seen

  • Now we know what happened to Musashi Miyamoto. He obviously became a Barber.

  • This barber has a tremendous amount of skill, He makes it look very easy. Fantastic haircut.

  • i feel as though i was watching a undercover samurai cutting your hair! such speed but with accuracy! wow. when Japanese have a traditional trade they really aim to master it!

  • Why did he put a mask on halfway through?

  • @wesmanavus so to not breath directly onto him, just as a curtosy no real meaning lol

  • @austinvahramyousefi Makes sense, thank you.

  • The old boy certainly knows his stuff.

  • Looks like a scene from some Bond Film, "Have a seat Mr. Bond , enjoy your shave" evil laugh

  • what a cool drop-down sink! I thought it was a dishwasher at first and I thought -- that's odd, each station has a dishwasher! lol

  • @VinnytheFox she said, すっきりした sukkiri shita.

    "you(or I) have become cool". ^^

  • Comment removed

  • after watching this, i went and shaved my forehead to see the benefits... i could find none...

  • @OnionInYourHouse the forehead shaving is to remove deadskin, so the skin look healthier.

  • Who besides me had a problem with 28.55 of the video? I 'm very squeamish about this part dealing with the ears....

  • If I may be so forward as to inquire about how many yen this visit set you back, I'd be interested to know. It's hard enough to find a place that would provide all of these services where I live, much less charge a reasonable price for them.

  • i'll admit this is very relaxing to watch.

  • now that he shaved your forehead, are there small hairs that are growing that need to be trimmed?

  • 29:46 masterbation of the ear

  • i sleep like a baby watching this video

  • That guy is old but he is really fast , THUMBS UP

  • why did he put like powder on his hair

  • Neither fascism nor communism are evil inherently. ANYTIME someone follows wholeheartedly, unthinkingly, whether it's Hitler or Tojo or Stalin or even Jesus, terrible things happen. The minute the guy on the street gives up his responsibility to determine right from wrong, thinking "I wouldn't have been ordered to do this if it weren't right" then atrocities will happen. ALL of us have a responsibility to question authority. Now let's enjoy this video. :D

  • Anyone else find this video very relaxing to watch? :D

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Is there no tips at all in Japanese culture? If I give a tip on accident, I'm not making anyone upset am I?

  • Seriously - my limited experience has me believing that, no matter what the task is, the Japanese perform it with such attention to perfection that it's art.

  • @bobdefalco Except beating us during WW2...

  • they really should have kicked our ass in WW2

  • @79goldmaster1 What the fuck kind of comment is that?

  • @EpicTrollBeastMan We'd all be getting good haircuts now

  • @79goldmaster1 Are you fucking stupid? Seriously are you retarded?

  • @EpicTrollBeastMan You know very little about militarism,my young cockstain,...the Japanese were almost invincible.

  • @79goldmaster1 You stepped into an anthill now boy; Japanese, invincible? Is that why the US Pacific Fleet and US Marines single handedly handed the Japs their ass on every Island they fought on? The Japs did "okay" against defenseless Chinese civilians, but against a mobilized USA they fell like dominoes. You know nothing of "militarism", otherwise such a disgusting comment wouldn't have been made. American blood was spilt whooping the Japs and you mock it over a haircut... you're a disgrace.

  • @EpicTrollBeastMan My comment was a compliment to the old man giving a great haircut.....his expertise and dedication to his craft is commendable. Sure, Japan lost the war, but we paid an extremely high price. By the way, your grammar is pretty disgraceful too. "have went" isn't the proper tense of the verb. Fourth graders usually learn these verb tenses.....maybe you could use some flash cards to help!

  • @79goldmaster1 Also the Japs had the worst equipment out of any of the major factions during WW2, so "invincible" is far beyond exaggeration. Germany ran the show from an Axis point and if the war would have went the other way, Germany would have done away with the Japs too.

  • @EpicTrollBeastMan You seem to be quite a history buff..I've always liked WW2 history....wrote a lot of college papers on the war. I still say the war could have been won for the AXIS powers....I appreciate your comments even if I don't totally agree.

  • @79goldmaster1 Well you must get a lot of failing grades on those papers if you think Japan was invincible. And don't try to look smart by correcting one grammar error because I corrected your knowledge of history. Wise up kid, you don't insult a generation of American fighting men and women to compliment one old barber. It was insulting, you know that. I agree that he is an excellent barber, but what you said was disgusting.

  • @EpicTrollBeastMan I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I certainly never agreed with any part of Axis philosophy. But the Japanese students I went to college with were very intelligent, focused, and genuinely nice kids. I'm sure their soldiers were very proud, as very few of them would surrender. Japan will never be an empire again, but her people are worthy of praise.

  • @79goldmaster1 Worthy of praise for murdering more civilians than the Nazis? Killing thousands of our POWs on death marches and bayonet points? Breaking conventions and the "rules of war" of the time in desperation? What are they worthy of praise for exactly? I know that the Japanese Americans got put into camps after Pearl Harbor in the USA, it's a dark spot in our history. But they were fed, warm and well treated at least, many of them served in elite infantry units.

  • @EpicTrollBeastMan They died for their country...war is hell. The good guys don't always win. Both sides lost good soldiers. What about the Red Army of Russia? And they were even on our side. Stalin murdered over 20 million of his own people. We needed allies like that? Not many of the German prisoners captured and sent to Russia lived to tell about it. Also what about Vietnam? War is definitely hell...just ask any survivor of Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

  • @79goldmaster1 You are one of those people that absorbed every lie you read in your high school history textbook, I know your type. We dropped those bombs to save millions of lives, imaging the horror that would have been X-day is impossible. We should have left Patton go after the Russians imo. German and Fascism was really the lesser evil compared to Stalin and Communism. And what about Vietnam? Japan had no reason to behave they did, they committed the atrocities because they are cruel.

  • @EpicTrollBeastMan Sure, textbooks water down important parts of history. Also television and other media are slanted toward left or right. Of course it would be in poor taste to glorify horrors suffered by millions of war victims through the years. Can you imagine Japan or Germany achieving A-Bomb status before us? The German and Japanese textbooks would somehow justify wiping out the country formerly known as the United States.

  • @79goldmaster1 Praising the Jap military of the time is horse manure though. And I guaranty one of the veteran Japanese Americans of the European front would be the first to say it. Jap soldiers of the time were trash, brainwashed murderers.

  • This is just another reason why I would like to live in Japan, even if it's for a short while, because they treat you as an individual, not just a number. They put so much attention to detail that you savor every moment of life.

  • You better have tip him well for all that service.

  • @zennith559 it's not polite to tip in japan.

  • japan offers the best service in the world. as clients they never complain...xcept 4 my girlfriend

  • What was the reason for the powder at 11:10?

  • Only the Japanese can provide such excellent service. They are the best in everything they do. I wish the country the very best in recovering from their recent tragedy.

  • @VinnytheFox

    Not "好きりした".

    ”すっきりした" means refreshingly.

  • I've never had my forehead shaved before!

  • ニコニコから

  • Oh wow! Now I wish I were male for a day so this man could do everything he just did for you. It looks so relaxing! He is an artist! :D
