Started off with Kawy Ninja zx6r 07.. Took my time learning.. just enjoyed riding.. then i got comfy started poppin the clutch little by little until i had 1st gear pegged sitting down.. went to clutch 1st standing.. then 2nd... 100+ wheelie is all i needed.. Just take it slow and enjoy the ride. Oh and I-95 became my bitch.

@CriminalPlayer I have a V-Max & a Busa. But I started with a 600 myself. It was a fun ride, I miss it. They are nimble, light & fast. On a mountain road, the Busa wouldn't stand a chance against a well ridden 600. PLUS you have a good chance of getting insurance!

@CriminalPlayer My first bike was a '90 FZR 600. To be honest it was difficult to learn on, it was nervous & twitchy. I should have started with a standard.. A 250 sounds too small for highways . I would look for a used standard or a cruiser anywhere between 600 - 750cc. Don't laugh, but Japanese cruisers in nice shape can be had for little money. & you can ride it all day. They are very reliable. Maybe a shaft drive Virago Get some miles under your belt then go for your dream bike. Be Safe
