I am currently working as a 2-year temp. at the Hewlett Packard plant in Andover, thanks to Careerbuilder. There are plenty of old dusty cobwebby things with the DIGITAL logo in every corner of the building, including something called an Alphawave Server; I can't help but find this very interesting.
@imachias I was at DECWorld Boston as an exhibitor (AlisaTalk Mac-VAX integration). How well I remember it, with the two ships (QE2 and the Oceanic). Unbelievable! I "dropped in" on my way back to our Pasadena, CA offices from a Europe tour with Apple.
I wish DEC were still around :-( They made the best stuff. This comment was made on a DEC venturis FP 575 and next to it is a VAXstation 4000 model 60
Beautiful! I really miss DEC too. My first introduction to UNIX was on a DECstation running Ultrix 4.2. Yeah, I got a late start, I know, but I've been hooked on almost everything DEC since then, and I love DEC history. I still have a small pile of DECstations, VAXstations, and a PDP-11/23+.
I worked at DEC/cpq/hp for 30 years---DEC, by far the best place to work, best products, innovation, service and support. Thanks for sharing. Deccus were always great gatherings of customers, no matter the city where meeting.
There's Sue Skonetski, and a bunch of other people I met at the 2007 VMS boot camp! And ooooooh, the VAXbar!
Wow, this video is a wonderful watch. Thanks for uploading it. DEC was great; but a lot of the people and their talent survives in HP. I'm something of a youngin' who recently got into the VMS world.
Ah, I was here, too

Without sound, you can't tell if they are nerds or geeks. Look borderline into the nerd zone to me.
