I love Kamchatka, It's one of the great places in the world you fall in love with and most of the world don't even know about it. My dad used to live there , it's hard to compare the nature and landscape of Kamchatka to anything else in the world. People are just too ignorant of the beautiful Russia because they think it's cold, dirty, evil and full of communists.

or sakhalin...wow, that's fantastic...until this--the closest surfers I've heard about are in S. Korea and Japan's Hokkaido island...maybe the Caspian or the Black Sea going west as far as former Soviet bloc countries go, yet a bet the waves are slop there--you'd have a better bet riding the Great Lakes in the autumn. yeahj, gotta be Kamchatka given the pic of the smoking volcano/Kamchatka is loaded with volcanoes.
