  • I have an LT-4 Vette that I'm thinking of doing a turbo on. Do you have more videos and what was the end results of RWHP?

  • keep in mind - the "Sledgehammer" Corvette C4 hit 254.76mph (faster than Bugatti Veyron 16.4) with "only" 880bhp which is just around 800rwhp+/-

    imagine what this beast could do with the Sledgehammer body modifications.

  • An LT-1 might could do 155, 160. You'd have to have about 700, 800 HP to get up to 220+

  • @yungrey55 6 speed LT1's would easily do 170.

  • @VetteAholicZ06 a stock TPI 85-90 vette will do 155-160. I drove one that would do 171 with a chip gears, roller rockers and full exhaust. A c4 with 900 horsepower will easily break 200 mph. Shit one with 500 would with work. These cars have extreme speed potential once you replace the lame engines and trannies of their generation.

  • @cmcbunch The engine is fine actually, apart from the optispark issue they're pretty reliable. The main problem with these cars is the rear end and transmission. They handle a stock engine fine but once you cross 400hp they just can't cope with it, and they're pretty damn expensive to beef up.

  • @wildbloodydragon , i have to disagree.. my brother has a 90 model c4 that has a built 350 with twin turbos... it has over 800 hp to the rear wheels.. he runs it everyday and he has the stock dana 36 rear end with 3.73 gears and a turbo 400 tranny.. hasnt had the first problem with it... i have an 87 model with a dana 36 rear end and id love to have mine like his, its unbelieveably fast! but i will agree that they are expensive, but hell, its a corvette! LOL 

  • @1bad87vette Oh yeah, Vette's got the IRS so they get the different rear end...man I totally forgot. I wish I could transplant the rear end to my Camaro and improve the ride and handling a gazillion times but I haven't found anything online that'd suggest it's possible. Is it?

  • @1bad87vette All the C4 corvettes had DANA 36 axles for autos and DANA 44 axles for manuals. You aren't going to see too many people break these. Once you get a decent engine that makes more than 500 ft lbs of torque you will break the transmissions however. Your brother has installed a TH-400 trans for that very reason.

  • @wildbloodydragon If you have a corvette with an optispark you have a different trans than mine. Mine has a Tremec T-10 with a doug nash overdrive box for 5th gear. Its a 7 speed trans. Hard use or over 300 ft lbs will garaunteed destroy the overdrive box like mine. Yours likely has the ZF 6 speed which is much better.

  • @cmcbunch Nah I got a Camaro. Live axle's great if you wanna go 9" Ford or 12 bolt but other than that...it's crap.

  • Nice. What kind of ignition system? Definitely not an optispark anymore, I see the plug wires from a distributor behind the intake manifold.

  • @302project Because I used to think of turbos as kind of just an import thing. I've been warming up to the idea lately, and actually have kind of started to prefer turbos. Even though there's the heat issue, they're much better for gas mileage than superchargers.

  • @partywithbonscott Yep. There's nothing better than turbos. A v8 turbo is untouchable when done right.

  • @partywithbonscott A centrifugal supercharger that doesnt make boost below 2500 will see the same gas mileage as a turbo car. You are thinking about positive displacement superchargers like a weiand 6-71 or the new magnussen superchargers.

  • C4 Power!!!!!........Really Really nice bro.......I'm putting out a bit less horse power than you with around the same torque in my 388 nitroused & stroked 95 C4 (just broke into the very high 9's finally last time out)...........do you have a car domain site, or website for your car (you should if you don't)........I (and i'm sure a lot of others) would absolutely love to see some of the installation pictures and car specifics.....anyway....VERY VERY bad asssss............Joe
