All cultures feature fantastical mythical creatures because that is how you rationalise and intergrate things you cannot explain with your own world view. I have a open mind and I'm sure there were giants in ancient times, but if you visit worth1000 . com (minus the spaces) and search for giant skeleton, you'll find most of these photos; with Photoshop and digital photography nowadays it's hard to tell which are genuine and which aren't.
