  • david ster still looks the same

  • 6:00

Rudy T: You wanted this for so; long you finally got it.

    Some dude: DAMN RIGHT!

    LOL!

  • funny how stern was booed in 05:31

  • June 22, 1994 - I watched the game @ the Dirty’s restaurant that was on Chimney Rock near Richmond. After the game, I went down the Richmond strip & watched uniformed police officers in the street @ the Fountainview intersection high fiving motorist as they drove by. Good times.

  • 4:49 Beautiful to see Dream soak it all in.

  • Dream, OT, Mad Max, Jet, Big Shot Bob, Bully Scotty B, Rudy T, Glide, Super Mario

  • 4:40 Hakeem looked annoyed at that guy lol.

  • Hakeem is in another realm!

  • too bad MJ retired in 93. would've been great to see the Jordan and the Bulls against Hakeem and the Rockets in the finals

  • @DrOfThugonomics1 Bulls would have won!

  • Those were the days... Clutch City

  • @poorboysdream Dude hopefully we see those days againg! Rocket for ever.........

  • Houston -- The Eagle has landed!

  • You know the Knicks could have been good sports BUT NOOOO.

  • @valjoedg show me what team actualli shakes hands with the other team after losing a pivotal game 7 in a championship series

    84-lakers didnt

    88-pistons didnt

    94-knicks didnt

    05-pistons didnt

    10-Celtics didnt

i get the good sport rountine but diz iz a game 7 we're talkin about

  • fans were booing stern even in 94 lmao

  • MJ let you borrow the trophy for a coupe years....say thank you.

  • @kibosh85

shut the hell up you Jordan mark...i find it funny that you guys totally disregard the fact that he was there in '95 as if it didnt happen, and also the fact that the team that knocked Jordan out of the playoffs, the Rockets swept in 4. Dispute that.

  • @kibosh85 The day that Michael Jordan retired the FIRST time, the Bulls had a nine game LOSING streak against the Houston Rockets. Jordan was scared of Houston, so don't give me that borrowing crap.

  • postalpawn ....That's right you tell 'em. Hakeem and the Houston Rockets were no pushovers!

  • Comment removed

  • Hakeem is stuck in amazement at 4:54

  • @aznguy352 Actually that is not true. I remember him being asked about that moment and he said he simply want to sit down and take it all in.

  • fuck robat227!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I looked up "how did that happen" and this came up...

    xDDD

  • This is back when there was defense in the NBA.

  • if the knicks keep mcdaniel, mark jackson, g'wilkin like 92 knicks the 94 champs is belong to them.

  • point blanket Im going to get to the Facts

1-Houston was lucky they never met the bulls cuz they would have gotten embarssed

2-chicago 6 championships (Bullshit city of Houston 2) lol

3- 72-10 Chicago bulls (the greatest team in NBA History)

4-Mj the greatest B-Baller Of all Time (THE GOAT) (No body knows who the fuck Hakeems is? unless you watch basketball in the 90s

5- Phil Jakson the greatest coach in history. (Lord of the Rings)

  • michaelav315 "point blanket Im going to get to the Facts"

"Houston was lucky they never met the bulls cuz they would have gotten embarssed"

Here's some facts for you: 1) Jordan is a career loser vs. Hakeem and the Rockets head to head. 2) Hakeem led Houston to a Finals sweep of a team that had MJ changing jersey numbers when he lost 3) Hakeem made MJ eat the ball more times than any player he faced in NBA history.

Chew on those FACTS Jordan Jocker, lol.

  • Horry at 2:56

    What a bitch...

  • Houston only got a championship cause MJ took a break from B-Ball.

I was eager to watch the bulls smash the the rockets the following year, but I guess Houston got scared.

The 90s belong to the Chicago Bulls not the get it while jordan out Rockets.

  • @michaelav315 Really? Because he came back the next year and the rockets still won the title. And I already know what you are going to reply with "he wasnt really back yet." well guess what, he put up 55 on the knicks. i guess he wasnt back yet. Also, everyone KNOWS that he needed a break. He was absolutely without motivation after that 3rd title. If he had stayed he would have been a shell of himself. the bulls probably wouldn't have won any more titles if jordan hadn't taken 1.5 years off.

  • @robat227 your right the bitch ass rockets did win the following year but I was talkin bout

after they won their second championship- I couldnt wait for the Bulls to strip Houstons crown away from them and place jordan back on the throne. I give a shit bout jordans 55pts?

90s belong to the CHICAGO BULLS

not the faggit ass Rockets. stick to what you know best taking black coak in the ass cuz you dont know jack shit bout Basketball.

  • @michaelav315 dont hate man

  • @michaelav315 Either way Jordan is a quitter and he quit on his team.

  • @robat227 your a fag cuz you dont know what your talkin bout cuz Jordan never quit he got 6 ring and been called by his peers as the greatest.

    so fuck what yuou say

  • @michaelav315 The Rockets crushed the Bulls every time they played you fool! Nobody could guard Hakeem!

  • @ZwienerZ Vernon Maxwell schooled Jordan on almost every play

  • Olajuwon- a true picture of serenity

  • What's wrong with The Dream? He just won an NBA title and he looks sad.

  • @themavsfan1992

i think he was in shock.

  • haha david stern gets booed in 1994too ! how does this guy still have a job

  • its weird how olajuwon looked like he was on the losing team. iv never seen a player look so calm after winning a championship.

  • Lmao @ the white guy @3:23 trying to hug a basketball player and gets pushed out of the way!!

  • its a left ankle sprain RELAX EVERYONE :)

  • This year the NBA championship is coming back home to Houston for a third time. Lets go Rockets!

  • @MACHIN3K1NG fuckin right! we takin down the lakers!

we got everyone healthy finally! the title coming back to houston!

  • @hearthustle Hell yeah dude, the lakers had a hard time beating us in the playoffs when most of our star players were injured and they still had to play dirty to win. It's about time someone knocked them off their throne once and for all. I predict the Rockets taking on either the Heat or the Magic in the finals. Take it to the rim Rockets.

  • @MACHIN3K1NG i think they will too, but ignorant laker n so called heat "fans" will say we wont, but you know what? they will be the same ones claiming to be rocket fans in june

  • @narutodbzSS18 There's always gonna be bangwagon fans dude, it's a sad truth in sports. I bet most of these new Heat " fans " didn't even know who was on their roster until LBJ and bosh showed up. I'd aslo like to qoute Rudy Tomjanovich by saying "Never underestimate the heart of a Champion", trust me we'll win it all this year even with our rough start to the beginning of the season.

  • @MACHIN3K1NG exactly its too earlyy in the season anyways they will turn it up come, december, too be honest with you i think it will be Rockets vs Heat in the nba finals, and it will be deja vu, if you get what i mean(Pat Riley as Heat Coach too)

  • @narutodbzSS18 To tell you the truth it probably won't be the heat in the finals this year since they haven't been playing great basketball so far either and if your team can't win by huge margins with those three on your team something's wrong with the team. But yeah we just gotta have faith in the Rockets and they'll make it all the way this year, i some people have learned never to count out an underdog especially if that underdog is Houston. On a side note however Yao is injured again....

  • @MACHIN3K1NG its a strained muscle nothing to worry bout, relax

  • @MACHIN3K1NG MIA doesnt know wat to do with lbj dwade bra, lot of talent

  • @narutodbzSS18 Miami probably expected them to completely dominate other teams when they were on the court, but unfortunetly for them they havn't been playing like they were hyped up to be. It seems like miami dosen't know how to put those three to real effectiveness. And your right that Yao injury was probably nothing to be worried about, though it is a shame we lost to the wizards last night.

  • The Rockets didn't win the championships b/c Jordan retired. They won their championships b/c the Supersonics choked in the playoffs both of those years.

Basketball is all about match-ups. The supersonics of that era owned the rockets. As for Jordan, he even admits that Olajuwon would have had a very good chance of beating him in a 7 game series. He doesn't say that about anyone, period. That's how much respect he has for "The Dream".

  • fuck it ,somebody had to win when jordan left & im glad it was us but im ready for a new championship banner

  • imagine a bulls and rockets finals back in the day?!?!

  • If it wasn't for Hue Hollins blowing a game against the Bulls, giving the knicks the series the Pippen lead Bulls of 94 would of taken on the Rockets. Then that would of been an awesome series to watch.

  • Did Vernon Maxwell handle Jordan really well during that time?

  • I never understood why John Starks would take 18 shots. Common sense should tell him after the first 9 misses you need to distribute the ball

  • i love my houston rockets

  • im 14 and frm vegas and my fav bball team is houston!!! man i wish i was alive wen this happened!!!! go houston rockets!!!!!!

  • @FROGTACOS Reading your comment makes me feel Old as fuck hahah. I'm 24, and yeah man growing up in the 90s was a blessing. NBA was awesome in those days man.

  • One of my worst childhood memories

  • The Bulls definetly who have last to the Rockets because the Rockets had their number all through the 90's and Maxwell wasnt afraid of Jordan. I'm from Houston I was 11 years old and i remember this vividly. I would've loved to see the Bulls and Rockets as would everyone in Houston

  • @nafriniskincare

You mean how the Bulls were 8-2 against the Rockets from 1995-1998 (after MJ came back from retirement)?? Maybe more like the EARLY 90s the Rockets had the Bulls number.

  • @nafriniskincare

Im not saying the Rockets couldnt have beaten the Bulls but the playoffs are a whole DIFFERENT deal from the regular season. The Bulls didnt do so good either against the Blazers in the early 90s regular season but then in the NBA Finals, the Bulls whipped their behind.

  • hvillio22....Yeah and the 1986 Rockets were the whippling boys of the heavily favoured defending champion LA Lakers and Hakeem went ON THE ROAD and stomped them in 5 games as the underdog.

  • Man anybody from Houston can and should say these were the days I was 9 and 10 when they were Clutch City The only Championships I ever remember Houston having. the good old dyas when times were so so much eaiser. Northeast was jumping like crazy.

  • Damn i know this is a tough loss to swallow and when the Game gets away like this and time running out there's really nothing much else you can do about it. And even though the KNICKS came up short i will always LOVE JOHN STARKS and the KNICKS no matter what.

  • Dammit, I’m getting teary-eyed!

  • What a sad yr for NY and the Knicks which they had that championship in their hands and they blew it. They are the biggest choke franchise team in sports in general I think with all that money they have. If I was a knick fan I wouldn't even waste my time or money to go see a bunch of scrubs lose until they get better.

  • i was just born in 94 and im from texas whats better then that :D

    nobody better then olajuwan!

  • i was one lol

  • the rockets are my boys, but this team has'nt done shit since the mid 90's.they need shooters,a real power forward,a true point guard, and a real fucking coach. change the colors and logo back to the old rockets. the shit now is geared toward yoa ming and the asian look logo.(no hate or stupid shit intented) give me the old rockets.i'm tired of hearing about the lakers, suns, boston, cleveland ect..i even hate that we lost the damn comets.please invest in some real players will you?

  • Rockets Forever!

  • no shake hand at the end of match !!

  • Starks was a tough player but sadly he is remembered for this performance!

  • Good Lord this was painful basketball to watch. No skill, just brutal, grinding, no tempo...awful. MJ really set the NBA back by giving GM's the illusion that a great player alone could elevate a team. Which led to years like Jerry Stackhouse having 29 PPG shooting 40% in Detroit...and Allen Iverson's CAREER. That's why that awful screw job David Stern did to Dallas in 2006 was so bad: that Mavs team was a TEAM...and Stern's enmity toward Mark Cuban allowed Dwyane Wade to look like an MVP. Bad.

  • hey...where is the oj verdict pre-emp??

  • @laclipps1 Think that was in an earlier game. Was it??

  • Man, I miss those glory days of the Rockets. We could've had them back if it wasn't for Steve Francis bum ass

  • This was not really Houston's first championship. The Oilers won championships in the 60's, before joining the NFL

  • @robinstigator As far as Houston Championships go we also had The Aeros and the Huskies in Hockey plus the old Buffs in Baseball.

  • @aerosfan1976 Houston Oilers won two championships in the AFL in the 60's before The Super Bowl came about.

  • All You Jordan Cocksuckers need to drink and drive!!!!!!!!!!

  • It is nice to see again NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon and the HOUSTON ROCKETS' First NBA Championship Journey in 1994. Olajuwon was the BEST SHOT BLOCKER in NBA History.

  • It's okay. Knicks will shine again some day. I will always have confidence in them.

  • Watching Starks crash & burn like that as a long time Knicks fan still breaks my heart.Starks had been a beast up until this game.Life goes on though..we need to hurry up & retire his Jersey tho..Knicks Legend!!

  • Wow! After seeing this video, I hope the Rockets win one again for 2010-11!!! GO ROCKETS!

  • @justboycrazy45

We got 10 good players. We just need Yao to come back. GO ROCKETS!!!!

  • At least you made the Rockets work for it, that's what matters if you didn't Win!!!

  • Damn! These are the years basketball players played with everything they had! NBA is just not the same.......

  • @charger109 Im so annoyed now whats the difference between NBA today and the 90's theres no difference both era's worked as hard. Just because these guys are Hall of Famers you appreciate them more. Players theese days are so under appreciated. Ruined by the guys that think old era's are always the best

  • So sweet to see a championship after so many bitter disapointments. Even sweeter the next season because of how much we were disrespected by the national media after the first one. After we swept Orlando the next season the media kissed Houston's collective ass.

  • whoa did david stern get booed?

  • I used to be a Bulls fan, or better - Jordan fan... so after Jordan in 1994 watching this series... I was so happy seeing Rockets win World championship... but at the same time, I was so sad about Knicks losing it... players like Starks, Ewing, Oakley and rest of the team deserved it... that's sport

  • Comment removed

  • BTW, I have Sports Illustrated Collector's Edition magazines commemorating both of the Rockets championships for sale at an affordable price. Message me on here if you're interested. Peace.

  • as a Knicks fan this was depressing and painful to watch

I give Hakeem his due credit don't get me wrong STILL Patrick deserved a ring and this was his only shot at getting one that year

I was 16 at the time this went down and still 15 years later THIS LOSS STILL HURTS!!!

  • @illmatic95 it hurts more when Allan Houston lost to the spurs after being the first #8 seed to ever take it to the finals and got back an injured patrick ewing but still couldnt do it. Im from Chicago so I seen Jordan school NY tons of times. We hated y'all and your cheap play back in 1994, 1995...

  • @illmatic95 I know what your talkin about.I'm a Bulls fan but Ewing was one of my favorite players and I knew if he didn't win it this year then he probably wasn't gonna win one.I felt real bad for him and Oakley cause he helped get the Bulls goin in the right direction and never got to win one either.Guys like Ewing, Barkley, Malone and Stockton were guys who definitely deserved rings and never got em.Ewing was the best center at the time and through today to ever play the game.

  • i feel the same way about sacramento and lakers in 2002

  • seulement parcque jordan n'était plus là!!!!!!!

  • haha stern hated this wanted knicks to win so bad love the boing by the fans at stern these are good old days.

  • all those 35,890 views are people from Houston....because we wont be seeing or feeling anything this great and awesome anytime soon from any of our teams...our Astros made the world series...but were SWEPT!....and we were acting like we won something!....one day in the distant future we will see this again...but not soon enough.

  • Not just Houston.....a Rocket fan in Canada too. In 1994 and 1995 Other teams in the NBA had more overall talented squads than the Rockets,...... sometimes other teams had homecourt advantage,.....sometimes other teams had the momentum and series leads and had the Rockets ready to be eliminated......but the problem was.....they just could not stop Olajuwon

  • you but holes who think that the rockets are gonna win the championship in the next couple of years are living in dreamland!!!!!! u are gonna honestly tell ME!!!!!!!!1 that the crap that is on the court is gonna win a championship u DONT KNOW SPORTS AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • aaaahhhhhhhhh glory days!!!! TOO bad !!! we in houston won't see that again!!!!!!!!!!!

  • u never know man anything is possible

  • hakeem doesn't look too happy?

  • CLUTCH CITY!!!

  • ¤ø„¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨

    ¨°º¤ø„¸Rockets = Champions!!! ¸„ø¤º°¨copy & paste

¸„ø¤º°¨ `°º¤ø„¸if you think Rockets are going to be 2010-2011 Champions!!!!

    ¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø„¸¨°

  • such an anti climatic crowd, they act like they just clinched a playoff birth...

  • I'm a die hard rockets fan Ima even get a tattoo but I think next season were not winning a championship we are making plaoffs but no championship BUT for the 10-11 season we gonna get Wade and yao back with scola and Brooks better we gonna take it all the way unless t-mac comes back like he used to be with the magic

  • hell yea man i am a die hard rockets fan too since i was a little kid ! i feel you this season i see playoffs but your right on the 10-11 season if we ge get wade i think it will be clutch city all over again like this video

  • the rockets have heart we dont need t mc or yao.

  • yea man i know i mena im from houstson. but we got ariza, brooks, scola, and battier. and yao might get surgey and t mac we r goin to trade him. save up some money and hopfully get d wade, and amare stoudmire

  • stoudmire would be a good pick up for you guys..

  • haha we got brooks, scola, and battier so stfu....

    rockets 2010 champion!!!!!11

  • lol you be lucky to win 40 games..

  • were gonna be in the lottery and get john wall!!!!! than were back just like that!!!!

  • Hakeem the only dude who won by himself, no other Stars.

  • not really we had maxwell, and i forgot who else but in 95 we had clyde

  • VERNON MAXWELL- (win)

  • WoW Robert Horry`s first NBA Championship and first Ring. Who would of thought that this guy would leave the NBA with 7 Rings !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Houston Rockets Championships were great achievements if you don't think so you obviously know nothing about basketball.

  • fukk david stern

  • ha 4:40 get the fuck off me, man!! hakeem looks like, ok is this it? either that or he just didn't know how to react.

  • Jordan wasn't even gone 2 years and he usually lost to Dream anyway you fucking moron.........it's more accurate to say-"good thing Dream didn't have an all star teamate most of his prime, otherwise Dream would have more titles than MJ"........GET A LIFE YOU JORDAN COCKSUCKING WIMP

  • will someone please direct stacks815 to the fruitcake ballerina section?? she obviously intended to post in her girls category for little princess dancers

  • '95 Jordan was back, got destroyed by the Magic. Go figure...

  • inkovic: yeah he was back in 95 but for only 3 months! had be been playing since the start of the 94-95 season, the Bulls most definitely would have won in 95. and yeah the Magic did beat the bulls 4-2 in the semifinals. but the Bulls the very next year swept them! so much for go figure huh?!

  • '96 Bulls were a completely different animal than the '95 one. Without the vital addition of Rodman they still wouldn't of had the had the weapons necessary to beat teams like the Magic.

Its entirely possible had Jordan not retired the first time they wouldn't of won as many titles. But that's all hypothetical.

  • inkovic: very true

  • what??????? Jordan had better stats in the 95 playoffs than he did in 96 it was his TEAM that got better, jordan had little to do with it.

  • @jeroel Lol, as a kid I always feared Michael and the Bulls facing the Rockets in the finals because I knew they would lose.

  • @jeroel Jordan came back in 1995 and the bulls lost to the magic in the playoffs.

  • @jeroel

You mean Jordan's 9-2 record against the Dream other than a few years in the early 90s? Yep that qualifies as usual. Its too bad the Rockets couldnt get to the Finals in 1991-93 or Jordan retired the 1st time. This couldve been like the Lakers-Celtics of today.

  • @hvillio22 you better go check those numbers again there buddy. jordan was not 9-2 against olajuwon. idiot. quit making up things and blabbering out random numbers. olajuwon was 11-10 against michael for his career.

  • @jeroel Regular Season doesn't mean NBA playoffs. Jordan would of taken at Hakeem all day. The rockets guards would of gotten shredded by the Bulls backcourt. No contest dude.

  • @KcItaliaPlaya hakeem and the rockets were the only team to have a winning record against michael. jordan couldnt drive on hakeem. olajuwon is the last and only player i can think of to win a championship on his own. only star on his team in 93-94

  • @jeroel great statement i think those rocket teams could have beat the early bulls teams but after 96 the bulls were to good

  • @fatpatlives1998

it wasnt so much that the Bulls were "too good"...by then (after 96), the Rockets had started to age. Sort of like the way the Spurs look right now.

  • What was the song playing after the buzzer?

  • I think it was Simply the Best by Tina Turner

  • hey when kolbe bryant ever gets the bALL yell rape

  • Man this gives me goose bumps. I remember the uproar like it was yesterday. I hope we win again. The Lakers better look out.

  • i hope Houston can win this year.

  • Even though I'm a Laker fan, I think Houston will win this year.

  • Yeah well, ya'll eliminated us in Game 7 in NBA Western Conference Semis. So you guys won the championship against the Magic, congratulations. =-)

  • People who just assume if Mike had played he would have won in 94' are pretty silly. The Rockets OWNED the Bulls, basketball is a game of matchups and we couldn't get past Seattle.

I have every confidence that we would have beaten the Bulls in 6 in 94' and in 95' we beat a Magic team that beat the Bulls WITH Mike.

  • You pretty much nailed it. Its truly about matchups. Why else did Houston lose to seattle in both 93 and 96. The years the rockets won the championship they didnt face seattle. Yet the rockets had a 5-1 record against the bulls from 91-93 when the bulls were on top.

  • damn this brings back so many memories. i hope the rockets get some luck this year

  • One of the best nights of my entire life.

  • You can't call it but i would have loved to have seen a rockets-bulls finals in the mid nineties.

  • the best way to start summer of 1994!! shit this takes me back, i was 13

  • I'm getting nostalgic too! I was 14

  • @felix1980torres I was 12! I definitely remember how sweet it felt.

  • So lets look at hakeems rockets during jordan's championship years 90-91-Lost 1st round playoffs (Bulls win finals) 91-92-Did not make playoffs (Bulls win finals) 92-93-Lost 2nd round playoffs (Bulls win finals) JORDAN RETIRES 93-94-Won Finals 94-95-Won Finals JORDAN RETURNS 95-96-Lost 2nd round (Bulls win all) 96-97-Lost WCF (Bulls win all) 97-98 Lost 1st round (Bulls win all
  • fucking loser-"flopdanuts23" what the/fuck is that ?-an indication you want to suck on Jordan's nuts?? listen bonehead-Mike never ever stopped Dream-Mike fucking got to the playoffs his 1st 3 years with losing records-you freakin say Dream had Sampson early on,getting to the finals 5 years before Mike-use his superior teamate as an excuse, then fucking say nothing about Mike having a hall of fame teamate most of his career-something Dream didn't have until Clyde,Chuck came well past/prime.asswipe

  • tell me 1 year Mike stopped Dream from winning a title.........by the way-Jordan himself admitted that Dream could do everything he,himself could do-Mike put Olajuwon #1 all time center, above Wilt, above Kareem, above every center in history-look back at the won/loss record of Mike/Olajuwon thru '95-Olajuwon kicked the crap out of the Bulls nearly every year-hell Dream would BLOCK MIKE every game-they both went off for 30 plus but Mike ate the ball often-and the Bulls usually lost to the Rockets

  • get thru your skull. Olajuwon is the only player in 60 fucking years of the NBA TO PLAY MOST-NOT ALL BUT MOST OF HIS GREATEST YEARS W/OUT 1 FUCKING ALL STAR TEAMATE-YET BE "THE MAN" IN 2 TITLES.......NAME ME ANY OTHER PLAYER WHO HAS DONE THAT...JORDAN WON 6 WITH GREATER PLAYERS BESIDE HIM...Mike played great a little longer than Dream-as Dream's body broke down sooner-that's the breaks-but thru '95-Olajuwon was just as great as Mike-no one in history dominated on both sides like Dream-no one.

  • WOW Your pretty emotional about this argument. Ok whatever olojowan better than jordan. LOL

  • He does have a point unlike you. Well let me use your fucked up logic too. If Jordan is so great, why does he have 6 titles and Bill Russell has 11?

  • Let me get in on the fun. If Jordan is so great, why does he have 6 titles and Robert Horry has 7? See how flawed your argument is? Olajuwon carried the rockets by himself.

  • Yep. I don't get these should of, would of, could of arguments from these douches.
