Jereme, one thing confuses me... it almost looks as though there are 4 "sections" with seams (horizontally), and when you put it all together I don't recall seeing you do that. How do you keep all the compost from shifting down to the bottom? If you created sections, how did you do that? Thanks for sharing, this is very inspiring! (You're quite talented)
@dibassett Hi, see my first video "making a vertical garden" around the last few minutes, i stapled the plastic sheet and grill to horizontal cross pieces , making three sections. it might be an idea to put in some felt to filter the water between sections and keep as much compost from being washed out.
Well, I just watched all of your vertical garden videos, and SOOO enjoyed them.
Great ideas, and it looks wonderful. I had my doubts at first, but just look at all that lush greenery growing right there on the wall! Congratulations on a wonderful job.
Beautiful!
I'm going to try this in my garden in the spring, along with my vertical vines. Including your wonderful watering system.
Very ingenious! Thank you for sharing with us! We have recently decided to clean up our eating habits. I hope to have a system going in my basement, even though winter is approaching, because we have 4 boys (3 are teens that are ALWAYS hungry) and organic weggies are very expensive. Thanks again for helping so many, you've made it easy for us.
Very nice. I am a botanist and love plants. Once I am able to move into my own house I will set a few of those up in my greenhouse. Thank you for the instructions and such :-).
thanks so much since I have been looking at the high priced versions only to find you do it better and something more what I have in my wallet. Please keep us updated on your project.
Wow, so from March to May your plants really flourished. Was that tube only at the top? I pictured that the water would favor the top area and lower plants wouldn't get as moist.
well, it seems to make its way down quite easily as the top line gets saturated, but its only on 4 minutes a day, and all areas seem to be doing fine. I actually extended the tube to cover the plants on the table in front as well.

dou you have any problems with the water on the other side of the wall concerning the humidity?
trekhaus 3 years ago
the entire back is covered in plastic so there shouldn't be any damp, but I'll see when I take it down, and show the results.
