I can remember laying down in my living room next to my dad rooting for Bill when he was driving the no. 11. Those are the earliest memories that I have, I couldn't have been much older than 3 or 4. He is a hero to me. Nascar hasn't been the same since his last full time season in 2003. Bill is the man!
HELL YEAH! Million Dollar Bill!! Record setting 11 wins (85')in addition to winning the Winston Million(Daytona,Darlington,Talledega) He's the reason for restrictor plates! A Talledega 202.398mph pole and the 1987 record setting lap of 212.809mph and up during the race. 1988 Champ!! Although he really should have been in 85',87',and 92'.From 84 - 02' voted most popular driver 16 times.ESPN driver of decade (80's). Hall of Fame 2007! One of the BEST! AWESOME BILL from DAWSONVILLE!!!
His acomplishments are real, unlike Jeff Gordon's phoney 13 win season in 98, the year they NASCAR stripped the Taurus and the Winston Million that was just as phoney, Jeff had more chances to win with again, a slowed Taurus.
Bill is the greatest driver, maybe not from success but because he is a really nice guy, like in 2001 when he took his name off the Most Popular Driver Award ballot so Dale Sr. could win it, and again in 03 so Jr. could win, and when he let Boris Said drive the 21 at Watkins Glen.
I have a scale model of his 1999 McDonalds car. Shame we won't see that 94 been driven by our favourite NASCAR driver....:(

Bill Elliott is probably the smoothest driver ever, he sure can drive when given the right equipment

Bill's the only driver to come from 2 laps down at Dega and win under green. Remarkable!!! Nothin' like Ford Power!

I heard during the Daytona 500, that Bill will fully retire after 2008. Thanks for all the great memories, Bill.
