I remember seeing this when it happened. Well, it was broadcast maybe three hours after it actually happened. I lived in the midwest, and had heard insinuations that rockabilly bands had some merit. This solidified the idea. The tangent was from Morrissey to the more immediately accessible Reverend Horton Heat. There's probably a place reserved in hell for me.

Morrissey's band never got sufficient credit. This rockabilly live version blends old rock 'n roll and the progressive sound beautifully. Few in the younger generation can play like Boz and Alain.

I completely disagree. Fans go on and on about "The Lads". Boz, Alain, Gary, and Spencer are fantastic. Fans gush over them to the point that they favor them over his current squad.

The problem is that fans can't see past this period and are stuck in an arrested development of sorts. They favor the rockabilly look/sound and fail to see the quality of recordings he's made since (ie: Action Is My Middle Name).

@tf2cpu the Cos actually came to warm up the crowd before hand, which was really loud. Cheering for Morrissey, who, being the musical act, would have been on later in the show, but instead they put him on near the beginning, to cut down on the noise from all us fans.  But first, Cosby, warming up the crowd, said something like, "I was just talking to Morrissey backstage, and he said that everyone should not make to much noise." Well, they tried. It was fun.
