When i sing, it sounds great through my ears, but when i record it on my phone or anything else really, it makes me want to puke... its the same case with my voice in general, it doesnt sound the slightest bit like my self, and it makes me think that ill never sucseed in the music buisness. I am the prove of what people say... that a person who isnt born with a gift and cant sing in TUNE will never learn how to sing? fuck you all! I was shit, and when I went to my first singing lesson, the teacher said : ''You cant hit any notes right, we have a lot of work to do! ANd I know you can do it'' and he was right now I sing in tune, can hit some high notes and stuff, all I need left is more practice! but at least he believed in me, not like those other guys on tv shows -.- assholes =)

@zelda0521 they do this because every persons voice has it's own individual style. People have a tendency to mimic. If you went along with someone else's voice you tend to pick up they vocal style and bad habits they may have. If you can learn to match the tones of a piano, you learn the proper way of matching pitch with out the bias of some one else's personal vocal style. It can be a pain starting out, but it really does help.

@sampskaretu when you sing high notes it means instead of the air coming through your chest to your mouth like in chest voice... it comes through more of the nose to help take strain from your vocal chords when hitting the notes.

@ControlledByMusic My choir director last year had a really good point last year in men's choir. When using high head voice, try to bring your chin in slightly into your chest. The biggest mistake people make when using head voice, they try stretching their necks out. That actually tears out the pitch and volume when people stretch out like that. Also, ALWAYS stretch out your voicebox before you start singing.
