obviously having an ssd is better because since there's no moivng parts its faster than a normal hdd and it is expensive. if you want more data, go with the 80 hdd (but it will be slower), if you want faster boot and faster computer then go with the ssd. about the operating system, if you want even a faster operating system go with XP. if you want to be stylish go with windows 7 :) hope this helps.
To be honest, I tried it on my HDD and there was big difference in RANDOM512K and huge difference in RANDOM4K so.....
But still I know that u try to do your best to make Runcore popular brand but I never heard about it and I first saw it in your videos so if Runcore wants to be popular he need to have low prices (or some special discounts) otherwise if I was about to buy SSD I would definitely buy INTEL SSD coz currently they are the fastest and brand is well known. :)
The X25M has some insane write speeds. I totally agree with you. But the Runcore Pro IV had some way better read speeds during my benchmarks. Of course Runcore is our sponsor and we might sound biased but we just can't cause i am not risking my reputation for any sponsor. I doublechecked the 50/100mb difference on 3 SSDs yesterday and the results differ for some 2-5%. Still we should have checked that and yes, it was a mistake.
P.S. I love the Intel X25M, just to make that clear :)
I am trying to decide whether to buy the Vaio P with an HDD and then do an upgrade (costing $200-$250) ..............or just buying the latest Vaio P that already comes with an SSD installed at the factory.
You and everyone states that the Intel SSD is the fastest.........however which one is the right one for the Sony P? The have the MLC one and SLC one. Also..........wouldn't it be difficult to upgrade the SSD on the VAIO P that came with the SSD already installed at the factory?

Does sony vaio specially this model, can it run windows 7 with aero theme enabled?
elchicoboy 2 years ago
no, you can't run aero on the gma500 gpu but it can do 1080p

That sucks man...

at least make the test 100 percent accurate, this was an unfair comparison. post the proper test results instead of 2-5 % upon proper testing.......
festeradamz 2 years ago
You are correct.............I just realized that. It is utimately clear that SHE is PUSHING the Runcore SSD in this video.
Not a fair test!
Amreekan 2 years ago
i have no clue what you are talking about. The Runcore SSD is way faster then the Sony one. Do you want us to tell it's not or what?
minipcpro 2 years ago
Re-run the tests...........using 100MB on all 3 machines. Then you'll have your answer!

Gday I am most likely getting this with
Win7 or XP
Atom Z550 2.0 Ghz
2 GB DDR2 RAM
32GB SSD or 80GB HDD(4200RPM)
Is the SSD option here better?
Is there any other way I can beef this up once I have ordered it?
Kenjineering 2 years ago
yes the runcore is faster compared to the sony ssd

That benchmark was soooo fake!
On the first two models, you used 100MB sample, but on the third model u used 50MB sample!!
Ordeon122 2 years ago
This is definitely a mistake but believe me, it's not affecting the results at all.

in europe we're still hdd... and I didn't want to risk import costs.
There is a good video on youtube on how to dissasemble, very easy.
In the meantime i'm dumping windows 7 and put XP on it, probably dual boot with linux mint.
NOTE FOR HDD OWNERS:
You'll need XP sp2 to install, otherwise you get a funny error at the blue setup screen (which means it cant detect a HDD)
